I'll give you Boonen to counter, before his bad luck streak started in 2013, each year at least 1 podium in one of the 4 cobble WT classics from 2002-2012. Record number of wins in all 4 of those, that is 15 wins total!

But Cancellara is/was much stronger.
Maybe Cancellara was stronger (which I still doubt), Boonen played it smarter, was the better sprinter and got the results. Say what you will, we're looking for the greatest cobbled rider and Boonen always manages to outsmart/outride everyone and win the race. In a sprint, solo, whatever.
Sometimes being the strongest doesn't make you the greatest
Also, it shouldn't matter in looking for the greatest cobbler but Boonen's WC title does a lot for me. A true champion should've worn it, imo.

Define stronger. And while you're at it, explain why Boonen is at 15 and Cancellara at 9.
Cancellara started his career as a time trial rider until 2010. From 2010 to now he has won much more than any other. Only injuries, crashes or bad teammates can stop him.

maybe he is now and recently but earlier pre 2010 he definatly was NOT.

Sorry, but that's just bull shit. He's been getting results in Roubaix since 2004. First win in 2006. 5th in Ronde 2006 (Boonen won), 2nd in E3 2007 behind Boonen. 2nd in Roubaix 2008 behind Boonen. Saying Cancellara was just a time trialist is like saying Kristoff is just a sprinter.
In 2010, he was definitely better then Boonen, but before that Boonen was the better rider. After 2010, there hasn't been much of a contest due to alternating bad luck of the two. Boonen won when Cancellara wasn't racing and Cancellara won when Boonen wasn't racing.
