This is the last MTf but there is one more minor uphill finish plus 2 stages that have a big climb followed by a descent to the finish line, even if Dumoulin can find himself in Red after the TT I still think someone else can attack him on those two stages and gain enough time to take back red

there is but cycling anno 2015 gaps can only be made on MTF and if that's the case only the final climb. (unless you're name is Contador )
Well certainly if Dumoulin takes the jersey by a couple of seconds Aru and Purito should go long.

Wow Dumoulin, what a Vuelta. Respect!
Both Rodriguez and Dumoulin have my blessing to win this Vuelta!
Majka can take it if he wants to fight for it.
Not a big fan of Aru.

That might happen, but I would bet you anytime Dumoulin will be wearing red after the time trial. |

How long is that tt?
Dumoulin has a good shot! Should be a stunning end here!
It's not long enough for him to do serious damage to the rest of the GC and I doubt he will be in red after the TT. I also think the other GC guys can still put time into him on the stages 18,19 and 20
Normal GC riders won't lose that much time, but we are talking Aru and Rodriguez here. They are both amateurs compared to Dumoulin.
Yep but this is a GT and 3rd week TT's are always about who has the best recovery, Contador was always a good example of this. Also don't forget Majka, he's looking good and can TT

Well, that's the problem with great-looking races with more mountains than you can count. They look great on paper, but you run the risk of inadvertantly ruining the race because everyone will be to cautious and try to save energy.
The Giro had one a couple of years back.
That, and more human riders who can't do a Riis '96 day after day without suffering the consequences.

I do still believe the overall win is still between Aru, Majka, and Purito. But I am rooting for Purito, I do hope he got this.

Congrats to Dumoulin. Who could think he's able to win Grand Tour.
Now it's his for grab.
EDIT: Most boring GT for a while?

Yep the Giro was crazy for stupid stages a few years ago but look at this years route, not crazy and we had pretty good racing. The Vuelta hasn't been producing good routes in the last few years but has been saved by the riders who have turned up trying to make up for lost seasons thanks to injury, this year we don't have this and the route is being exposed as poorly designed

As long as Aru doesn't win im happy. Landa could have won both the vuelta and the giro if Astana knew tactics. |

On 38km ITT in Suisse Majka lost 1:26 to Dumoulin. With Aru & Rodriguez riding TT of their life, Tom could not wear red after TT. |

I think, Dumoulin will gain max 2 mins on Purito and Aru. Purito is bad but they have been using wind tunnel for him and now he is not as bad as he was once.
But last mountains and 2 medium hilly stages will settle everything |

He might have finished closer but I don't think he would of beaten Contador at the Giro and he didnt look to be in great condition in the opening week in this race and has ridden himself in form. Maybe because he knew he wouldn't be leader here he took it easy early in the race but im not so sure

But those "big" climbs aren't really that big and they especially also aren't steep at all actually. But we'll see.
I'm still rooting for Purito to finally take this, after his near misses in Giro and Vuelta 2012 and also the very close losses in Liege and world championships 2013, he would really deserve it in my opinion.
I actually think though that Dumoulin is gonna take it all in the timetrial.

Why is Talansky even in this race? I knew he wasn't gonna be good for GHC, but I thought he might be saving his energy for a break. He's done absolutely nothing and been completely useless.
Really no reason for him to have ridden this GT.

Purito can also thank Landa for hurting his main rival in Aru, good to see the Spanish still looking out for eachother
Ya unless your name is Contador
But good to see it and Landa seemed to have paid Aru back for making him stop in the giro. |

Haha! Just to prove you're point, I'd completely forgotten that he was in the race. Zubeldia has made a bigger impact which is really saying something

That was hilly though, this one's much flatter so the gaps could be bigger between Dumoulin and the rest. |
