Scouting: Round 2

Round 2 works almost the exact same way as Round 1. There are only two new things:
#1 Scout a rider more accurate than you did before
If you want to know more about a rider than you know already, place In colums W and X how you scouted him before (don't forget that or the excel sheet will make you pay more than you have to). Then add in columns Y and Z to what level of scouting you want to get him now in Potential or Stats. You will have to pay the difference between what you already payed for scouting the rider and what you have to pay for the level you are getting the rider on.
#2 Sign a rider
If you already decided to sign a rider, put 1 in column AA, where it says "Sign". A young rider will get a wage of 100. You can pay the full wage out of your scouting budget, but only can use the half of that for wages. Check in table "Teams" how much you can use. Place next to the 1 in column AA, in column AB how much of the riders wage you want to pay out of your scouting budget. It can be anything between 0 and 100. The rest will be payed out of your budget for next season.
If two managers bid on the same talent, there will be a silent auction, I will ask you by PM to make a second bid on the rider's wage. The higher second bid will get the rider. If two or more bids are the same a random generator will decide. Should the wage end up higher than 100, you still can only pay 100 out of the talent budget.
If you are done, go to table "PM" and send columns A-I to SSJ2Luigi. Also if you had no scouting money from the beginning or have none left you can send something in, as you already can sign some riders. |

Scouting Round 2 - Part 2
Now the first part of Round 2 is done, but for the riders several teams bid on there will be silent auctions now. I'll sent you a table which will look like this:
You then just copy the list put it in a reply to me(not Luigi this time) and then change the 100 to whathever new bid you want to make. 100 is the smallest amount you can put there. The highest new bid will get the rider. If two bids are the same, a randomizer will decide where the rider goes.
Oh and I'll give you 24h for that, as it's really easy to do. If I don't get a reply all your bids will stay at 100.

A question: will real new riders be added to the DB as well? Or others get updated stats? (I'm thinking of guys like Vervaeke, De Buyst, Teuns, etc. )

I'd like to, to keep some kind of realism alive, but with the talents coming from the scouting, the talent pool would be very much inflated when adding real talents.
On top of that it would be very much work for me to add those riders, so I'd need someone else to do that.
I'm at least planning to do some stat updates for free agents after the season and on the new rl talents I thought that maybe changing the names of some appearing in the scouting pool would do the job, once scouting is finished? |

Yeah, I wouldn't bother about adding any more riders to the database since it's got such an enormous talent pool already. If you want to change some of the names to those of real young riders, that could work too, but I guess it's really up to you to decide.
One thing I was meaning to ask; what happens with the National Championships? Are they going to be simulated at the end of season too or just randomly assigned to riders in the database?

^ Ollfardh - You do realise in the ICL we are in October 2015? + We have completed almost two seasons. We have EPIC/Man Game for those who want real people added to the game for pseudo-realism.
To me it is just pointless adding new real people to the ICL after two seasons. Really pointless. All the more pointless when the goal of the ICL is to advance quicker than real life + we have Bikex producing all of these great regens.
Stat upgrades after two seasons based on real results....NO.
Summary: Adding real people at this stage makes no sense and would add even more for Bikex to do. No thank you. |

I'm just a little afraid that maybe one day when there are only unknown names left, that will keep people from joining the game as there is noone left they know among the top riders (I know that's still far away, but I just think that should be considered..)

Anyways, on something different: I'm currently working on an archive file which will include the entire history of ICL including Race results, rankings and in which team the riders were. I'd appreciate if some could help me then going through the result threads and getting everything into a table.
I think that it would be a waste of space to keep the full results everytime so I'd just want the top XX of each stage.. I'm not sure for which races the XX should be what so I'd like you to tell me in how much of a result you would be interested. In the spoiler there is a table which you can use to show me. Just copy it and replace the numbers I put there by how much you would want.
Also would you like to have jersey wearers after each stage included or not? I don't think that's necessary but if you guys would like to have it in, I'll add it.
With the file it will hopefully way easier to check old results and top achievements of some riders, I hope you guys can need it then.

Countries with enough riders will have their NCs ridden, others will be simulated by an excel file

I like the idea of an archive file. For the results I would go with these:

Those minor classification dont have to be so detailed. It's pointless to see if a rider was 19. in the Tour of Northern Europe or similar races or not because that is completely unimportant.

Some good points raised here, I agree with Bikex that we need real riders to keep the game running as it is now. I also follow TheRider's suggestion against it. But I do like the suggestion fo changing the rider names. Maybe give everyone the chance to change their own fake riders to a real new talent?

Good idea. I think we'll make it that way. If someone volunteers some of the new free agents then could maybe also get a real name.. |
