@Miguel: Luigi did go a bit wide and I tried to take him, but he came back on my line, so I broke. Normal racing incident.
@DubbelDekker: In corners, move to the outside and go slower. You don't need to make space in corners, you're to insecure. Don't hold someone off for a lap, but 1-3 corners is alright(depends from track to track tho)

Thank you to everybody who showed up, it was a great race! I will write a race report along with results, drivers championship and penalties if I decide to give any out, this will be done by the end of the day |

There is, IMO, a better way of being lapped:
1) Run your normal line and your normal pace. If you are a lap down already, the car behind you will most likely have the speed to go by you anyway.
2) When it becomes obvious that he will go past you, you take one of the following actions:
a) If you are on a straight and/or there is a braking zone on the end, just let him go a bit faster and overtake you normally.
b) If it is a slow corner, take the outside line, leaving enough room for him to take the corner normally.
c) If there no room for overtaking in the next corner, take the corner normally, and on exit, leave the normal line, so that he can leave the corner at full speed.
And remember: Even if you are the one being lapped, the other driver still has to go past you safely. If you have to go off-track to let him by, this is a failure on his part.

Thats what I meant. I think I worded myself a bit bad.

BTW: These are the official WTCC weight penalties:
First: +20 kg
Second: +15 kg
Third: +10 kg
Fourth: +10 kg
Fifth: +10 kg
Sixth: + 5 kg
Seventh: + 5 kg
Eighth: + 5 kg
Ninth: - 5 kg
Tenth onwards: -10 kg
I would suggest this maybe...
First: +20 kg
Second: +15 kg
Third: +10 kg
Fourth: + 5 kg
Fifth: - 0 kg
Sixth: - 5 kg
Seventh: - 10 kg
Eighth: - 15 kg
Ninth: - 20 kg
Tenth onwards: -25 kg
the negative values only count for guys who are already having a weight penalty..
Example: SSJ2Luigi: 1st in 1st race -> 20kg...should he win again, he's on 40kg(60 is the maximum) and should he finish 10. afterwards we will have 40kg - 25kg = 15 kg left.
I think this is fair. What do you guys think?

How about no weights for the first few races, but then bring it in with the initial weights being based upon the championship positions at that point?

I like your idea SN so we will use it, vote here to decide how many races there are before there are weight penalties |

A very exciting race overall, major highlights were:
ryant's start in which he managed to climb into 5th
DubbelDekker takes out both jihardy and ryant, ryant escapes but I get stuck for 20 seconds and lose at least 1 position at the end of the race
Paul gets pushed off the track during a fight with SSJ2 and Miguel, he loses thirty seconds and falls behind me (although he would later pass me)
Miguel98 has to make an extra pit stop after releasing he doesn't have enough fuel to finish the race
Excellent racing in between as well
The grid at the beginning of the race, ready to start the first race of the season!
ryant managing to go down the inside of three cars at the the start of the race.
First crash was on lap 10, there were no major consequences with Miguel being the only one to lose major time.
DubbelDekker unfortunately took out two cars while being lapped, ryant wasn't effected but I lost 20 seconds
0.1 seconds later Miguel would hit Paul spinning him into the gravel, he would lose thirty sceonds
Paul really was beached
Miguel had to watch jihardy and Paul go by as he add to make an extra pit stop
SSJ2Luigi wins the race!
ryant finishes a close second
DubbelDekker will receive a 3 spot grid penalty for causing a collision under blue flag
Hope you guys enjoyed the race and thanks for showing up everybody

Nice report! really enjoyed the race, would have been nice to have the info thing that we had last time but yeah, it will be an interesting constructors championship as well!
Did a few laps at Zandvoort and it took a few laps getting used to, having never raced there ever. The chicane thing at the start of the 3rd sector is very hard, but I eventually got my braking point there... Best lap thus far was a 1:47.7 but I lap around the 1:48's consistently
Thanks for getting this thing back underway btw!

Awesome report!
Really sorry about that collision. Didn't realise you guys were right behind me. Will pay more attention to the 'minimap' next time I'm getting lapped.
It would also help to have a rear-view mirror. Is that somehow possible in third person mode?

If you watch the replay, you could see that I didn't expect my pit area that early, so I simply missed it...

It should be possible. Go into your rFactor files, into UserData/YourName and open the "YourName.PLR" with the text editor and search for "Rearview" The value should be 1 or 2, depending on how many mirrors you want(I suggest only putting it on 2)

Watching me from the POV of someone else in the replay really shows how jerky my PS2 controller makes my car whenever I'm steering
