So... Being a bit frustrated about how the stat progression is in Be A Pro I wanted to see, if you could do something yourself, manually, to counteract it.
Using Lachi's Editor I'm doing all the stat increasing myself. I looked at Kittel and Froome to have some kind of reference frame regarding how high my starting and maximum average stat should be. My conclusion was, that because I'm able to have 55 in Cobblestone, if I'm a GC rider, and thus having more stat points for Mountain, Time Trial etc., my average stat i going to start at about 63 (820 stat points total) and at age 29 I'm finishing at about 73 (955 stat points total). This should make me a TdF contender at age 26 or 27 depending on where I put my stats. You might be able to win TdF earlier if you're lucky, that you don't need that much Endurance, Time Trial, Recovery stat points. This seems fine to me.
All this means, that I need to increase my stats with 12 points every year. I'm not sure if I'm going to do that once a month or every three months, but I like that the increase comes often. It takes about a minute or so to go to the main menu in the game, edit the stats in Lachi's Editor and to reload the game. You do have to, unfortunately, edit whatever stat points you get for leveling up.
My GC rider will start with the following stats:
FLA 55
MOU 70
HIL 70
TTT 70
PRO 70
COB 55
SPR 55
ACC 55
DEC 55
FIG 55
STA 70
RES 70
REC 70
At age 29 I'm able to increase all the 70's to 85's with FLA also being 85. You can of course make rules in which way you choose, i.e. that you can't have a stat under 60. That makes it harder to get crazy high stat points at a few stats.
This unfortunately won't do anything about the lack of goals and motivation to do, what the race strategy tells you to, but this might make the game progress in a much more sensible tempo. |

When you download the Editor, you first need to extact the dcb-file you want to edit. Then you find your rider and edit the things, you want to edit. After that you extract the dcb-file back to the original folder. I did, however, get an error using Lachi's Editor, where I couldn't extract the dcb-file in the first place, but using Fast Editor did the trick for me. In this program you need to first open the dcb-file, then edit the things and lastly save the file.
Hope it makes sense. I'm too tired to be editing this post for easier reading. |

Lachi's editor (not because of Lachi himself, but of Cyanide's exporter tool) doesn't work properly for PCM 15 or at least it's not 100% stable. Hence way it's better to try out the Fast Editor whose dl link I posted above you.

Here's a tip:
When you level up the stats are directed by axis of training but are mostly RANDOM.
You will get completely different stats up every time with a load game and the total amount also differs alot from something like 5 to 15.
I posted when you level somewhere else.
So it's maybe more fun when you can choose from let's say 3 instead of just entering stats yourself. |
