This flat rated classic have been raced three times previous with the first edition being back in 2010.
While you would think it a clear-cut race for the sprinters on first glance odds are it will go differently as it have always been won from a late attack.

If the sprinter teams manage to get a bunch sprint this year Cavendish, Van Heerden and Guillén are the big favourites.

If things go as the other years it will be hard to predict and with a multitude of small hills it could very well go to a real powerhouse.
These riders are bids for someone with the qualities to make a late attack last.

If Ulanwoski is as strong as he was in the Giro he might have a decent chance here, even more if Polivoda, Buts and Gomenyuk can lead him out properly.

As noticed early season already...where are the Dutch teams in the biggest Dutch race? 
Aegon, Gazelle, TomTom anyone?

Actually, the 2010 race was won in a sprint by Granjel Cabrera. (I noticed some errors in the race profile thread when looking, as it seemed odd this race would only have been in the game every other season).
As with Interlagos, hopefully the attacks do fail this year and Van Heerden can do something. It's quite cool to have the number 1 on the startlist for both races, albeit somewhat meaningless if they don't deliver!

Okay so technically I'm at this race, but I'll really be sitting this one out, expect to see 8 Azteca riders in the peloton, doing nothing but enjoying a free ride to the finish line.

It's because it's a HC race. I'm not going to pick a HC band that doesn't suit my team at all just for this one race.

So most sprinters avoided the long-haul flight to Brazil, and instead pitch up here - not too surprising, but would be (mildly) amusing if this race ends up breaking up as it has done on occassions before and Interlagos sticks together. Given Nutresa don't have a bonafide top sprinter in our ranks, we will be looking for the BoTD, and/or some late moves - hopefully brought the sort of team that can achieve such.

Suprised I didn't bring Kip here, but he probably would've failed anyway so it's for Nepomnyachsniy to sprint for a good result here. He showed already that he is capable of doing so with the podium early this season when podiuming at the Barcelona Classic. |

I hope to be in the BA... not much more to expect from this race... Good experience for the riders and nothing more.
I'll put my "money" on Guillén for this one.

Would be nice if he did a 3rd sprint of the season in this race. You know what they say? 3rd time lucky eh

hmm, I think our best bet is to get in the break, Awang probably isn't good enough to get a top 10 if it comes down to a sprint but seeing as he is one of the weaker sprint leaders here we shouldn't have any pressure to chase so the rest of the team should be allowed in the break.

Before the race I would've taken 4th... But now the AI has fucked up once more I'm quite pissed I missed the podium... Shame to have no overhead shots of the sprints, wondering if Ula picked Cav's wheel or another...

Don't know what the lads have had in their water bottles the last few days carrying over from the 2nd half of Romandie, but a Nutresa swarm on the front of the peleton with 4km to go and no recognised top-end sprinter in our ranks - odd behaviour, but means we have plenty of guys in the later section of the top 25 at the line which is awesome. 20 PPRD bang on from this outing, puts another smile on management's face given expectations were quite low  .
Thanks to Atlantius for the reporting, and congrats to PT visitors Pendleton's on victory (is the first PT victory in a PCT race as far as I've noticed, anyone able to correct me?). His NC jersey from the front momentarily made me think it was a Nutresa rider sprinting for victory, double-take required  .
