Transfer Season 15/16

Thinking about the amount of riders that are looking like signing with Sky, who's leaving? Obviously they have a spot free with Wiggins gone so the others would be Porte, Earle, Pate, Zandio, Sutton, Eisel and Knees? Also didn't Viviani only sign a 1 year contract or have I got that wrong? I would think Sky would hold onto him being Italian

I think you're right viviani only signed for 1 year with team sky this might explain too why team sky got so much money to spend and all those rumors about cyclists coming to this team.

Sky Italia sold its 25% share in the team year or so ago so there's no more that Italian rider need influence. However they signed Moscon so there will be Italian in the team for sure next year. Vivani is bit unknown but I think he's happy in this environment, especially with Rio Olympics he may stay another year as Sky will support him even in small way track wise more than other road teams. Plus he did well this year.

If it had to been one, Im fine with it being Gorka. Sad Ion has the better ceiling, while Gorka more is a traditional helper, good in the flats, hilly and mountainous terrain, without being superb in any (not that Ion is, but he has some very decent results in week long races). Glad both Ion and Landa not left for Sky, would be heartbreaking for me....

well, they didnt do too many races together afaik, still sucks. Izagirre bros belong together, either at movi or sky. semper fi boys!

On the other hand, many riders to leave Movistar, according to the rumors (Gadret confirmed, Intxausti, Gorga and Ion...), and only Landa and Urán Urán to sign, although Landa it seems that he'll deal with SKY.

It is supposed they will sign some young Spanish as usual (I dont know the U23), even somebody from CJR (good perfomances from Fraile, Barbero, Bilbao... during the year)...

Intxausti also leaving? Damn. Couldnt care less about Gadret tho.

No, there arent many riders left to sign, but Im cool with that. That leaves room for Ruben Fernandez, Dayer Q, Ion Izaguirre, Anocona, Jesus Herrada etc. to develop further with bigger roles. They have some very decent talent at this squad.

Urán could be a very very good signing at the right money tho just for one week races and potentially a good result in the Giro. Will fit in with the other columbians

Urban would be good addition to team Movistar with Quintana going for the win in the tour, valverde goes for vuelta and uran for giro and since there's so much Colombian riders in the team uran would feel like home

It would be interesting too see what Uran could do with more backup in the Giro, as well he could do some work for Valverde in the Vuelta. I read some rumours that Uran is wanted by Cannondale as well....

Here's a couple other rumours floating around, some might be written on this site already but anyway....

Bryan Coquard > AG2R
Wouter Wippert > Cannondale.
Michal Golas > Sky. (Probably only too keep Kwiat with company)
Adrien Petit > FDJ.
Alexis Vuillermoz > Tinkoff.
Stefano Pirazzi > Lampre.
Richie Porte > BMC (New Evans?)
New York Knicks - Bardiani CFS - AG2R - Millwall FC - Le Havre AC

Bryan coquard to ag2r wouldn't be good a move since this team is more about GC than sprints he won't have a good lead out if he goes there for sure. I don't see why Vuillermoz would go to tinkoff the guy is a French rider in a frenchie team and he did pretty good results this season.

French riders in french teams... hmmm.... why can't I think of someone who managed to unleash his full potential. There's too much hope and therefore too much pressure there. That's why Pinot and Bardet were so behind in the Tour at first despite making a good season before that. He's making the next step in his career and honestly I believe he'll be the leader in the ardennes classics over Kreuziger Wink

The pressure of French riders is only during the tour the France because it's their national tour so of course there would be pressure you're riding home in front of family, friends etc and the fans are expecting great results and that's understandable. Vuillermoz would have better role and freedom in ag2r than tinkoff quite honestly. There's just no way that tinkoff would give him the leadership in the classics

Why not he'd be the most talented guy in the ardennes classics in their roster. Nobody else can match him. If he's in shape he'll be the leader as he has more punch than Kreuziger. Wink

I was thinking the same thing but i would assume they will get in two-three more sprinters or leadouts. And Europcar already confirmed they will let some of their bigger riders leave so i don't see it as totally unrealistic at least. His leadout can't be worse than he had in the Tour this year!! Grin

Sorry to ruin the fantasy talk guys but Vuillermoz has got a contract with AG2R to 2018 so he's going nowhere

Ok then. I just disagreed with Vuillermoz going to Tinkoff being viewed as a bad thing. Wink

It would be bad and I'm glad vuillermoz decided to stay with ag2r 3 more years. Look what happened to sagan and tell me if it was a good move for him ? He doesn't have full leadership to express himself
