Yes. But the story barely reached Il Giro, if I remember correctly.

Australian Championships: ITT
The season kicks off with the Individual Time - Trial of the Aussie Championships. One of the early starters, Cameron Meyer set up a very good time which allowed him to spend a lot of time in the leader's seat.
Our only Aussie rider, Mark Renshaw isn't exactly a time - trial specialist so there was no surprise when he finished more than 3 minutes behind Meyer.

The list of favorites for today's race included big names such as the former World Champion Michael Rogers, BMC's talented young rider Rohan Dennis and Sky's Richie Porte.
Richie Porte was seen as one of the big favorites before the race
Quite surprisingly though, only Dennis was able to beat the early time of Cameron Meyer, while Richie Porte didn't even feature in the top 5.

Australian Championships: Road Race
Given the hilly terrain and the amazing team behind him, all eyes will be on Simon Gerrans for today's race.
With no reason for him to wait for the final kilometers of the race, Mark Renshaw decided to have a go in the breakaway. The only rider who joined him was William Clarke of Drapac. The duo had no chance against a perfect timed chase by Orica.

With little over 20 kilometers left from the races, Simon Gerrans made the much anticipated attack. Despite the best effort of a few riders behind him, no one was able to follow him at first.

A chasing group consisting of four riders (Richie Porte, Adam Hansen, Michael Rogers and Nathan Haas) was created behind Gerrans. After a few moments though, Haas and Porte left the other behind to do the chasing on their own. Rogers and Hansen would be eventually caught of what was left from the pack.

And their move proved to be good one as just inside the final kilometer, they managed to catch Gerrans and outsprint him on the finish line, with Richie Porte taking a great an unexpected win for Team Sky.

Tour de San Luis: Stage 1
With such a flat terrain and with Maes and Bouet doing a wonderful job chasing in the pack, the breakaway had no chance to stay away so with 10 kilometers to go, we were heading to a mass sprint.
Tony Martin, Tom Boonen and Matteo Trentin were there, ready to put Mark Cavendish in the best position possible for the final kilometers.

Tony Martin did an amazing job pulling our train, leaving Tom Boonen in front of the pack with 5 kilometers to go.
The next in line of the train, Matteo Trentin, wasn't as strong as Boonen and Martin though and this allowed the MTN train to gain some ground, with Goss putting Farrar in the perfect position for the sprint.
Cavendish was forced to start the sprint from behind, a few positions behind Farrar, but as soon as he found the space he was unstoppable...

Farrar had no chance to hold on in front of Cavendish' acceleration and the Brit took quite a comfortable win in the end.

I'm just starting your Columbia story atm, so hopefully this is just as good! Great easy on the eye layout and reporting is superb. Hopefully you can get more stage wins down in Argentina

Ah... The Columbia story. That was such a long time ago. I had no idea what I was doing for most part of the story

I have mixed feelings about this story. as long as it's going on, I'll constantly be reminded of me not winning this game (press 1 if you don't feel bad for Hb, ... SSJ2Luigi. sorry force of habit  ) which makes me sad but the stories section in PCM15 (and 14 for that matter) seems a bit lacking compared to 13 so another story is always good. which makes me happy.
I guess I'll act like I'm totally fine

Given the hard finish of today's stage it is very unlikely to see the same riders as yesterday fighting for the stage win, which means that we are going to see a change to the leader's jersey as well.

Despite Etixx not working at the front, the breakaway wasn't able to survive today either as they were caught shortly after the start of the final climb due to an amazing work done by BMC, Lotto and Trek.
With three kilometers to go, Philippe Gilbert decided there's to reason to wait in the pack and decided to attack. And it proved to be a good decision as no one was able to follow him.

With the final kilometer banner in sight, Scarponi and De Gendt attacked the rest of the pack, but it was way too late to get back into the wheel of Philippe Gilbert.

I believe Renshaw doesn't stand a chance in TDU sprints. However Alaphilippe should be able to make top 5 in GC if his fitness isn't too bad.

It will be hard given the startlist. A top 10 is a more realistic goal, I'd say.
