Apologies I cant find a search function for these forums, im sure its there, but im missing it and will be embarrassed.
Anyway, as im here, who can recommend some good cycling documentaries, more about the pro side of the sport, rather than amateur.
Im watching the Pantani one on Netflix and have seen the Armstrong one.... any others that are really worth watching? |

Lately I have seen the Hinault/Lemond-one and A Year in Yellow, following Brad Wiggins in 2012. Those are both quite good, especially the first one. |

Chasing Legends, following HTC's '09 Tour. Quite a cool little film with tons and tons of behind the scenes footage.
Hell On Wheels. German film from 2004 following T-Mobile. If you can stand subtitles it's really cool and quite similar to Chasing Legends in my eyes.
Have to backup the recommendation for A Sunday In Hell. Absolutely brilliant! Otherwise The Armstrong Lie is okish but nothing ground breaking. Non-documentary wise i recommend Breaking Away and La Grand Boucle. The first is just a great sports movie where the sport is cycling and the second isn't that great but is a bit of a laugh but it is in french.

Blood, Swaet and Gears, it's about Garmins first year leading upto the first Tour invite, Vaughters is annoying but some of it is interesting and its on YouTube.
The Stars and the Water Carriers is also a good 70's doco following the Giro

Yeah, Jørgen Leth is legendary. Happy that he is back in the Tour for TV2, allthough he is getting older and doesnt know quite as much as other on present cycling. #Legend |

Just to parrot A Sunday in Hell and Slaying the Badger are both worth watching, the HTC one is alright and also Netflix currently have the Argos-Shimano doc 'Clean Spirit' which is based on the 2013 (I think) tour de France which again is ok.
Whatever happend to the documentary about the Schleck brothers? |

Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist.
Best cycling documentary ever. Literally made med cry, you could just see how much it meant to those people at the end, and especially his mother or whoever than was. It was just... so fucking unfair! Just unfair. Would have given everything to watch him work his magic in the mountains as that best climber in the history of the sport he was. Forza, Pantani. |

Depends. I probably like the kind of documentary where you get the "behind the scenes" look more, but in terms of a documentary on just one rider, this probably comes close, although it quite clearly has a bias. It basically grazes over the fact he dopes, and it doesn't even really say that he overdosed on Coke, but I had no idea he got hit by a car during a race.

Nah, but so did everyone else. I dont know what to think of the plot at Madonna either, but by the looks of it, it just seemed like it was all planned out. Gotta read up on that.
And yeah, I forgot in my previous post, just fuck Armstrong. Ruined him even more. |

Definitely is interesting. After some quick research it seems the Italian Mafia were interested in Pantani not winning, due to gambling on the race winner or something like that.

Rising From Ashes is on Netflix, the story of the Rwandan cycling team, pretty interesting by all accounts.
