Ok Strydz fine good to learn something new. A friend of mine told me that 5 about years ago but it seems things hav changed already. UCI will someday make a change so as to return some interest most probably.

Yeah Carbon technology has really moved forward over the last few years, the UCI will lower the minimum weight at some stage becasue the big bike manufactures want to sell bike, Aero is all the craze at the moment but that will change and lightness will make a comeback. I don't mind a weight limit as you do need one but it's certainly time for a change.

IMHO, Froome's BEST Teammate was Valverde. Let's be serious, Who gives a fuck about being 3rd?. Nairo could won this Tour if Movistar wouldn't be so obsessed with the "True leader" third position.

It's a Pitty, too much talent wasted, let's hope the colombian will have more chances in future.

Greg Lemond man, take the mic away from this guy..

Greg Lemond is a disgrace to cycling...

I really dont like that guy.

Not having a go at you at all but I'm just curious on what your issues with Lemond are? I don't hold him in high regard as a commentator and he does come across as a little hypocritical with his dislike of some dopers and like of other ones but outside of that I can't see any problems with the guy

I used to love Lemond and my favorite TdF ever was his runs against Fignon and Hianult.

So i dont hate or dislike him as a rider at all.

What i do however don't like is Lemond as a commentator and his constant rants against doping. It's like Armstrong before he got caught all over again and the arrogance is just aggravating, not to mention that it´s suspicious.

Particular when you consider the time in cycling and what might be early doping.

I've seen for years people try and find dirt on Lemond doping and they have never turned anything close to plausible evidence. It's taken me a while to come to the conclusion that Lemond was clean.

Hmm, Lemond might be clean and he might have been doping. we will probably never find that out for sure. Unless he or someone else speak up, which is never going to happen.

In the end it does not really matter or change anything. his constant rants is making him seem petty and vindictive and people who keeps mentioning their own innocence, usually end up guilty as sin.

Just comment the race and the current riders, i do not care what you think of Armstrong going ahead of the tour in a charity race or care if Rasmussen or Jalabert is saying something.

Wait, Quintana thought he had won the stage?

What is the take on Contador now next year - Giro, Tour, Vuelta?

Depends on which team he is on.

If its still Tinkoff he will be forced to ride in TdF and if he fails Vuelta.

If he is on another team, it will be up to himself and i think he might do a Giro/Vuelta double.

So looking at the climbing times up the Alpe, if we exclude the 2004 TT times (which makes sense as a TT does skew the times) Quintana went up as the 17th fastest time in history. Now that is seriously fast

You can hardly compare those times. This was by far the easiest stage to Alpe d'Huez. Many of those times were ridden after 200km+, 5 hours already on the bike. It's why I don't like to compare all those times and especially don't like to make conclusions from them.

All I was saying was that it was fast! They also went quickly on the HC before that, so if you want a comparison then let's look at the times in 2011, Quintana crushed those times. Also lets see what the W/kg end up being estimated at, any way you look at it he climbed very quickly today

And here's a question.. where da hell did Bob Jungels come from to finish top 20 on the stage?

Imagine if Valverde wins the WC lol, someone will have to get him a dummy and nappy. Im oj im chuffed he was on podium should of been 2nd last year if normal

Yep Mollema although attacked once is so boring he has 3 top 10 now he is annonymous. What were Trek thinking signing him

ruben
7th in the strongest finishing field since a decade or so. Still a strong performance. But he might consider dropping some time and go into attack like Bardet or Pinot. Or maybe focus on the Vuelta

Outside of WT points and the obvious achievement of being in top-10, I just don't feel like you can use it that much when +15 minutes down. I mean, commentators doesnt even care to mention Gesink/Frank/Talansky being dropped since they are so anonymous and will finish a couple of minutes down on any decently hard mountain stage and cycling is a sport of exposing riders, particularly in the TdF, creating attention to the team and sponsors. There have ALWAYS been those kinda riders and they will keep being there since top-10 in the Tour de France is great of those kinda talents, but..... yeah.

ruben
Not internationally maybe. But the kind of attention Gesink and Mollema get nationally causes people to massively go to the Jumbo supermarkets and buy shit or in Mollema's case people buy Trek bikes.

So on a national stage it still has a lot of impact commercially..

Riis123
Well I guess thats true and no matter what, it is a great performance. Imagine how hard those kinda riders have suffered the 4 last days after going up Allos and x3 Glandon/Croix de Fer where they more or less have been dropped and come back every time before the last climb

They needed a GC rider and there wasn't alot of established talent on the market at the time, Mollema is a good solid rider who could finish higher up in one of the other GT's, if Trek can find another GC rider that might happen but for now having a top 10 rider at the Tour is important for that sponsor.

Holy fuck, that Valverde interview was such a touching interview for me. Finally, FINALLY. Everybody has said, including me, that last year was the last chance. And now he pulls this? VALVERDE <33333

A little down over Quintana didnt get the stage. Hmm. Coulda really used Intxausti in this year's Tour, he got his chance in the Giro and got a stage victory, but.... yeah. Really would have loved to see him there in order to wheel escapees in. Generally, I feel like Movistar shoulda taken more responsibilities, especially the last 2 days in the Alps. They would at least have had 3-4 stage victories.

Yeah. I actually just didn't think he would do it, even going into today.

Really wish Quintana could get the stage win, I think he would have won the Polka dots as well, which would have been nice.
