This thread is a even worst than what the people have done to froome today, you guys have to grow up, he is not a doper, he is simply the best cyclist, because he works harder than the others, because he as the best climbing team (They rest yesterday, but today they were amazing for chris), marginal gains also work, sky works hard with everyone, they are simply very organized, they use toons of technology to save riders energy has the Dogma KS-8, all that counts a little, froome came from nothing to the best cyclist, by working hard, if he was a doper as you guys said he is why did he struggles on the 3rd week (maybe because he was already in good form in dauphine),
if he is a doper why everytime he crashes he comes down so easy, Team Sky shows the real data of froome and there are no anomalies, he made only one attack and to be honest i think everyone was having a bad day on Stage 10, and he wasn't, he deserves this tour he was very regular all the third weeks.
About Richie doping that guy only worked hard 2 days (Stage 10, Stage 20), the other days he was resting so thats not normal???
Nairo was impressive today they could win this tour if movistar had better tactics.
Nibali was shame was happened to him on the start, but that's not his fault, the guys who are responsible for that are the public and the haters, people like that should be banned from cycling, how could someone wish froome death, or something like that.
Valverde i didn't like him on the early stages because he keeps fighting against contador (I don't like that attitude), but like him i think he is a great rider today worked amazing, and secures his 3rd place as well, really good year so far.
One more thing sky has a lot of sponsor interest on italy so why didn't konig made podium on Giro if the people says Team Sky's bunch of dopers, one thing to say people have grow up, doping it's not on team sky for sure, maybe Astana they are the ones who almost lost their license on UCI, because of doping, and nobody speaks about that (look at the facts).
I love cycling and i hate doping, i'm 100% guaranteed for sure Sky and Froomey are clean.
Hope to see these at La Vuelta, if Froome goes there he might do podium if shows the same strength as last year.
Tomorrow it's for CAV |

I would guess some of the long stories like dienblad's have more but it's a good shout.
Doesn't quite beat the Sky thread on the CN forum though: 1709 pages atm and 3.3 million views

The whole tour and the attitude of French newspapers and fans has been disgusting. L'equipe didn't even bother to put Cummings win in heir paper, simply because two French were beaten. That's not news reporting, that's pathetic. The attitude of them as a whole is a disgrace.
As a very keen cyclist who cycles at a good level and predominantly trains with a power meter, Froomes numbers are perfectly okay and absolutely doable for a pro rider of his level.
The people in this thread who think he's a doper know absolutely nothing about the sport, training or cycling.
Did the French press say Quintana was on drugs when he beat Froome? Nope. How about when a French rider got a stage? Nope.
I think the world at large has a much lower opinion of the French nation as a whole now. I know hose I speak to do. Disgusting attitude |

You are aware that most of the time in British press you can't even tell a cycling race is happening unless there is a Brit doing well?
And I'm not quite sure why you're guaging your opinion of the entire French people on the behaviour of their press and a handful of idiots. Maybe you're losing some perspective.
I don't know whether Froome is clean or doping, although I do like reading this thread since I don't particularly like Sky, but considering the history of cycling I find it bizarre that anyone would want to claim with 100% certainty that any of the top riders aren't doping. |

im not sure whether my perspectives are a country mile away from yours given the next line about enjoying the thread because you hate sky. Sky have done more for the sport in this country and more for positive clean cycling than any other. If you know your cycling you know that's a fact. They take a new clean and fresh approach to cycling so that being competitive doesn't have to rely on drugs.
Top cyclists such as Ivan Basso approached sky to talk to them about this because it was so alien to them. They got rid of anyone working in their staff who had been linked with doping.
What reasons do you have for hating sky exactly? |

there is no way for certain in this sport anyone can ever say someone is 100% clean. Fact of the sport from no on wards we will not know for sure till 10-20 years from now.
Agree Sky have done a lot for sport in UK same as Armstrong did for USA. And I guess you could say they have portrayed themselves as clean and for sure not had any scandals directly linked to the team.
But there have been links to doping doctors that is not non-negotiable
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015...sky-doctor
Though Sky claimed to have no knowledge that this guy was a doctor at Rabobank when Rasmussen won the tour, everyone else knew though even people on this forum back in 2011 when he was at Sky. Though he may have cleaned up his act he is a direct link to doping who was in the team.
The bit about Ivan Basso I have no knowledge of but Basso was of course banned for drugs before, so if he is asking Sky for advice I wouldn't see that as a good thing.
Though I and I think 100% of people hope cycling is clean nowadays, we have been betrayed alot and peoples skepticism from that is not surprising so I wouldn't take it too hard.
Though saying the people in this thread have no knowledge of cycling is ridiculous as I doubt your Bradley Wiggins yourself? Were all just fans, non of us are pros and more then likely we all have the same amount of knowledge about training as a Pro so don't attacked someone else opinion because it is not your own |

I have in no way said I hate Sky, sport would be a daft reason to hate anyone.
I don't particularly like Sky because:
1. I don't find their approach to cycling particularly exciting to watch and I watch sport for enjoyment.
2. I don't like teams unbalancing the field by outspending everyone else in any sport. Any to add to this I don't like the fact when they start talking about marginal gains that it is rarely pointed out in the press in England that these are a lot easier to make when you outspend everyone. The same applies to the GB cycling team.
3. I don't like Sky in the first place as an organisation, although that might apply to plenty of other sponsors too.
I generally find sport a lot more enjoyable if I'm supporting someone and by extension hoping someone else doesn't do so well, I doubt I'm alone in this. |

As I've said at other points in this thread, I think much of the drive in the quest to find Froome guilty has come from other agendas. A lot of people have reasons to hate Sky, some of them are quite valid. But what we've seen is people desperate to see Sky busted, hence going looking for a cheating rider where there isnt necessarily one.
I think the bile from French journos and fans (a minority but definitely existing) is perhaps fallout of hope and desperation to see the home guys do well, followed by anger and frustration when they fall short. Every country behaves that way at times.
Its all quite silly. You don't get people clamouring in other sports to criticise successful performances without evidence of wrongdoing. Athletics with Bolt, Tennis with the main guys (Fuentes involvement?) And of course Football (Fuentes again). So cycling has basically generated negative publicity with no concrete reason. Nice PR job by all those responsible. Those tasked with promoting the sport at the UCI must be furious. |

This.
But, for the Sky fan boys the only reason why someone wouldn't like their team or buy their bullshit is because they hate them for being Brits or whatever silly reason they can think of.

Who said anything about being a fanboy? I like to watch cycling with a more neutral mindset than other sports, thats one of the beauties of it. It is nice to see guys winning things for GB but its not everything. But what I dont like is people making baseless arguments which tarnish peoples reputations, especially when it leads to the mindless thugs doing dangerous things that threaten the race. At the moment its nothing more or less than mass hysteria. |

The difference with tennis and football is that a big doping story has never been proven. Cycling's history combined with how impotent/complicit the UCI is made look through a lot of that history brings far more sceptism its way.
I am actually slightly surprised there aren't more question marks over Bolt considering how many of the his rivals have served suspensions, but there isn't as much to suggest in athletics that the authorities might have knowingly looked the other way.
As for whether the press due to their actions should be held accountable for fans on the roadside, I'd say that's a stretch, but what the press should or shouldn't write is a tricky one to call and I can't say I'm overly familiar with everything the French are reporting. |
