Its only a 115 km sprint stage so that profile is zoomed in folks. "Only" 10 k's of flat between Croix de Fer and Huez.
Therefore Nairo either goes apeshit on Huez or its over. The latter is unfortunately most likely.
I expect Bertie to hustle from the start and not leave anything on the table. Same might be for Nibz.
Why do you call Valverde "Piti"?
Police found notes of dr Fuentes in 2006 him refering to one of his clients as Valv.Piti.
Piti being the name of Valverde's dog.
Hence most are calling him Valv.Piti or just Piti ever since

Froome should ask question..why people don't like him?
It not about he's supremacy ..he is leading a tour with 3min. It is not miracle.
He is nice person ..still he is most hated rider for fans.
All fans beside road supported Pantani, Ullrich, Armstrong same time..but they seems don't like Froome. Why?
I think it must be to do with Team Sky. There has always been a strong dislike for Sky . Maybe it's their proffessional approach to the sport or the way they race. Or because they aren't French... Pantani,Ullrich,Armstrong were not French and were supported on the road side
But none of those riders are British. Must be to do with the British guys. It could be like the America-Canada rivalry. No reason for it but the fact they are close despite there being many other countries close to France.
basically any winner from Sky (bar Wiggins but before he got 3rd his best result was 134th and 71th at the Giro and some cobbler who name I forgot) literally came out of no where and suddenly became good. Froome specifally was nothing before his 2nd at the Vuelta (barely losing to Cobo) (he would be let go by Sky if not for his magical jump in climbing skill here probably originates Cio's contract year powers statement comes from this is my reason for my slight least foundness for Sky riders because they without warning they appear to be world beaters.
I think because on of the few explanations are either that Sky made a HUGE!! innovation in cycling equipment/training/nurisment/etc or the use of not approved materials and the latter seems more likely to the big public and they feel to be cheated again (the Armstrong Saga ended recently didn't help either, and he's is despised in France now)
nothing with their nationality or team related, they just appeared out of nowhere

Spain protected themselves. Tennis player's were there, their football team was there. And nothing happened, and we ended up with the evidence destroyed. |

Was never going to happen. Astiazaran was La liga president at the time. It was him that brought Sociedad (where he was President before) to Fuentes. If he hadn't manage to make Puerto go away Spanish soccer would have fallen so deep and still wouldn't have recovered.

By the way they never were destroyed apparently (WADA and others appealed) and are still conveniently stuck in the appeal process - latest here https://www.cyclin...blood-bags |

This bothers me that some if our users are not really aware of Valverde's past. I rather jibed on other thread that finger is pointed always at Armstrong, but because of his super high profile it almost covers up the other little things that has happened since Lance's last win.
No one ever mentions Landis, would not mention Rasmussen if he were not stabbing microphone in faces, 2010's messy Schleck 'win' thanks to Conta ban is also put on back burner. two members of astana's 2014 team banned for doping anyone?
But no Armstrong always with this ugly bastard.

People mention Landis sometimes. Particularly now Porte is often compared to him. But yeah you make a good point. The one that always annoys me (other than Piti, who is still inexplicably forgotten about), is Virenque. People look back on him with such fondness and yes, while he did do all those attacks, he was also doped to the gills.

Sadly, I think Quintana already lost the Tour in Zeeland. 1'10 would've been possible (but hard). 2'40 is impossible
Agree 100%. Sky's great team-work was in the first nine stages. Stage 10 was the icing on the cake*.

There are several reasons for this
1) when you refer to the forum members, the young ones are in general the ones not to know that much about the past
2) many of them are still being naive
3) cycling fans who now has been around for 15-20 years, are way more cynical and just accept the facts and conditions these riders are racing under.
4) there is much hypocricy towards doping and heroes
All my favourite riders have now been revealed as known dopers, but I and most of the fans witnessing their succeses and experiences they gave us will all appreciate them still. (Ullrich, Mayo, Heras, Pantani, Virenque, Ricco, Contador and Valverde)
I wrote a tread about this https://pcmdaily.c...st_1069088 |

Is it forgotten tbat Valverde is an ex-doper and have refused everything? (like many others....) Well the whole forum get reminded daily since Kirchen apparently needs to remind everyone. Imo, Valverde is paying one of the highest prices in terms of his reputation, especially in here, where many, many people dont like him due to his past and his rejections to be involved in everything. Well, he kinda deserves this due to him naming the bloodbag Valv.Piti instead of just Piti as I previously thought |

Can we already say that Giro again has beaten TdF for good?
For me Tdf was as it is..but they clearly fucked up first week. It should be classic tour first week. We don't want to know tour winner after 4 stage. Let's keep that first week simple and for sprinters. |

If Froome.exe started in Giro. I dont care how exciting the route would be it would be fucked too. |

Yes, but the Giro was spectacular, so thats pretty obvious. Overall, I would say it has been above average this year, much better than 2008, 2009 2012 and 2014, and also 2011 imo, despite the epic 2 last mountain stages. But lets remember there didnt happen anything up until that point which tends to be overshadowed. The Pyrenees was even worse than 2009 despite them finishing on Ardiden and Beille.
I dont agree with the first week purely for the sprinters, a rider crashing for getting caught in echelons tends to happen in the first wee anyways. None crashed and 'only' lost 2 minutes. Maybe tune it down a bit, but purely for the sprinters? Nah, too boring. |

Who says that Froome could have beat Contador? also the race would have been completely different, Contador wouldn't have been alone against a insanely strong Astana team. |
