Right now I don't see Froome losing he's going to be first with Quintana second and there will be some battle maybe between valverde, Thomas and contador for 3rd spot. Such a disgrace from valverde to attack when contador fell but its the race and you can't blame him on trying to save his podium because he knows it might be his only chance to ever be in a tour podium considering he's already 35. |

True! Sagan showed what a good teammate does and gave Contador his bike, Majka does a half arsed attempt at being a Domestique

When Froome and Contador attack it's explosive and that's one of the reason why Quintana will never win this tour no matter how hard he tries. When he makes an attack I'm sure froome he's like "ok no problem I'll catch it later on without problem on the saddle" |

Froome seemed like a monster in 2013 but then on Ventoux Quintana managed to climb back to him with tempo after the brit attacked him. The columbian then carried on to gain 1 min 30 on Froome. I really hope Stickman suffers in the remaining stages and if I've learned anything from cycling, it's that nothing is over until the final. Just look at last year's Tour - everyone was waiting for an epic battle between Froome and Contador but the both crashed and Contador's Vuelta win in 2012, how Schleck dropped his chain and Contador eventually won the Tour because of that in 2010, how Hesjedal won the Giro in 2012... There are just so many examples. It may as well end up like it is now but Quintana should never give up and use every chance he has, since there wont be many, if any...

Stage 17 is done and there's only 3 stages left for Quintana to do something and the chances that he takes the yellow jersey is 0. From stage 10 there was no more suspense and the only way froome can lose is by mechanical or abandon but in this case I wouldn't consider it to be good win for the one who is second. It would be considered a lucky win. Froome and his team is very smart and they even asked Richie porte to go on breakaway to have a look on the descent, that's true tactic right there. Look at what Quintana and his team did today when contador attacked that was stupid tactic |

I'm not so much talking about today but on what I've seen, he does some work for Contador but doesn't come across that he is all in for his team leader

Well it is definitely not in the same visible manner he had when he first shot to fame while dragging Contador up climbs in the Vuelta a Espana. At times he would practically Richie Porte\Wout Poels\Geraint Thomas his way back to the front of the group and continue taking another pull and the competition in that race wasn't exactly lightweights at the time either.
Certainly what we perceive can change our opinions on a rider and how hard they are working, whether truthful or not.
He'd be better off following orders in my opinion if he wants to team management to give him a shot at a Grand Tour. Someone has to lead the Vuelta a Espana after all, unless Oleg is crazy.

Did I say his chances are big if any. But still he should try. Nobody will eventually remember how he won the Tour if he did. And he would definitely be welcomed as a hero in Columbia. You see, I don't care how Froome will loose if he does. I think dopers have no place in modern cycling. I even find Froome's performance more disturbing than Lance's.
Cuz Lance was right-how could he win if he was the only one who didn't dope. Froome doesn't have a doped concurrence, at least not currently at this race. I even think he was so bad last year cuz he thought he could go without doping seeing how strong he was the previous year. When he saw how weak he was, he started doping again in the Dauphine but fell. I believe the truth will come forward in 10 years just like with US Postal. But it would be even better if he lost to someone so that they wouldn't have to change the winner afterwards. |

Couldn't agreed with you more. They are short and not explosive at all. Contador's attacks when he is in form, are much more dangerous than Quintana's.

Movistar very bad tactic, they are playing to keep the podium and not to win the tour. Having two well-placed riders should do more to try to win |

meh, expected more from this stage.
I also think too many mountain stages in the Tour get won by breakaways..
Too bad Contador fell. Also had to laugh at Trek and Mollema.. what a fail.
I still hope Quintana can attack Froome a bit more seriously in the friday and saturday stages. Otherwise this Tour turns out to be a major dissappointment in terms of GC excitement.. All GC riders were unharmed through the first week and then such a lack of fight against Froome... we may have a new period of Tour boredom then the next years |

Yeah because they are different type of riders! Quintana is doing the best with what he's got and is beating everyone but Froome easily, Froome is just a step above in this years race

I agree with you here. He has not been what he, as Malkael mentioned, once was. But I think we can all agree that Majka would have given his bicycle if he was beside Contador when he crashed.
