Pro Cyclist, lvl 16 -> 17 only two points?
gonzalioz
Hi,

Im playing pro cyclist mode with a stage race rider. I have put the training axis on stage races from the start. I just went from lvl 16 to 17 but only got +1 point in mountain and +1 in stamina. Am I just very unlucky or is it normal that you almost dont progress at higher levels? (Rider age 21 and picked grand champion btw).

The level before I also got only 3-4 points or something.

Am I doing something wrong?

It would make sense that as you approach your peak, your progression slows.

Already takes months to gain a level though. On top of that gaining a lot less points seems a bit harsh.

Well, you are age 21 and at high level already, I know you picked Grand Champion but it makes sense that your progress goes slower at the moment Wink

It's normal. I've reached a super high level starting as 19 year old climber, at 21 I already was 80+ in main stats.
Then in the last 5/10 levels you start rising more slowly and more to other stats. But in the end you'll turn out very strong at 25/26
It's actually quite realistic (for a grand champion). More complete at older age, but quickly really good at your main specialisation

It is also quite random, I did some testing by backing up the save one day before advancing a level. By then repeatedly switching out and advancing one day I got different results.

A bit cheaty but ok...

you got unlucky.. i got 8pts getting to level 18 right now. Another explanation may be to do with maximum values. For each characteristic, there is a max value for each rider. If your rider is already at the max on values that you keep trying to train on, you won't get many points

Hy guys, I too am playing this new pro cyclist mode and I wonder, because of this thread, if I could grow my rider to a similar level as peter sagan with 80 stats in hills cobblestones and sprint? Is it possible or is too much of a growth? I started with a rider speciallized in the cobbled classics with 20 years old and great champion potential.

seems to be the case - lvl 17-20 progression had fewer stats increase for sure. lvl 20-21 picked up for me. Seems the points you get are hardcoded, their allocation between the different stats is partly random. If you think this is stupid, I won't argue.

Then we have different experiences. The rolls are always pseudo-random. You don't get less for 17-20, you just have some bad rolls.

I don't know, I ran a few tests to see if degree of training had any effect on rate of progression or stat improvement and from what I saw the number of points aqcuired in each level is fixed. That's true for levels 7-9 at least, not sure beyond that.

please read my previous post, If you reload each time advancing a level, you see that the gains are quite random.

The point allocation is random, not necessarily number of points gained. For instance - you can gain 2 points, but once you get +1 in hill and in mountain, then another time you get +2 in mountain. Did you count total number of points gained in each try?

yes I did, one time I got two points more with the same scheme.
edit, it was around level 20 though
