What do you think, can Valverde make it to the podium in Paris ?
Depends on Contador but yes i think It will be Froome, Quintana and Valverde as 3rd.
But it depends on Valverde also how is form is at the last mountainstages. |

Bad day for Contador loosing another 19 seconds to Froome. However, he's still much better than in the Pyreees. Froome too strong but he still missed out Quintana for a couple of seconds but then rode his way back. Still not that dominator as in stage 10. Maybe he might be just exausted enough to give the other a chance in the Alps
He beat home all his GC rivals again, Froome looks just as strong now as he did on stage 10
Not really he's not that strong but he defineitely compensates with smart racing. Froome rom stage 10 would have attacked himself and wouldn't staybehind someone's back until the last moment. |

Couldn't agree more.
I do not know why Team Sky has that much arrogance, they are not winning any popularitet contests in the field. |

Really happy with Nairo's performance today, looked pretty strong and looked to be putting Froome under a little bit of pressure on the climb. Bodes well for the Alps. And more evidence to dispel this myth that he can't handle short climbs.

Yeah, a guy winning in Pais Vasco can climb on these kinda climbs But the explosivness is overstated on Mende, its just the best climbers who, like in the Pyrenees, wins here. Cummings is proof of that as well.... |

He is just stamping his authority on the race, yeah it's arrogant and I don't really like it but he's just showing Quintana and the rest of his rivals that if you attack him he will catch you. Its not pretty but it's not like Froome is the first GC rider to do that

There is big difference between attacking on a big col and today's climb, yes Froome did well on Huy and good today but these short sharp climbs don't suit him. The fact he beat home Vlaverde is a sign of strength

Hmm, i have followed the tour for a few years and before team sky i do not recall the same level of arrogance. Last time we had a team as strong with US postal (Yes i know their history, but its irrelevant) and Armstrong, we never saw the same level , Armstrong was nasty but he never did something like that at the end, he would do it way before and make sure that there was a gain.
What Froome did was pointless and completely unnecessary, not even as to prove that he is stronger.... if he had done it way before and gained time like Valverde, it would have made sense and been fine.
But he will be paid back, remember the people you stomp on while going to the top, is the same people you will meet on the way down. |

Valv looks good for the podium. Means much more this year imo than it would have been last year when three of the 4 big grand tour riders were out. He's riding brilliantly so far.

Even without the Giro in his legs Contador would of struggled to beat Froome and Quintana, he's still good but a declining power
Same was said by many in 2013 that he is declining fast (or already down in the gutter), just for him to come back and strike hard in 2014.
He's only 32. He has a Giro in his legs and that Giro has been tough 3 weeks racing on him. Additionally, he has tried something much different this year than in others; going for the double. I'm sure if he follows 2016 normal schedule (Tour peak, maybe Vuelta as last career race), he can retire on top.

meh okay then if you think so. I'm only gonna say that the top 4 of the favorites group is probably the final top 4 in the GC(eventhough Tejay might still want t have a word in this )+that wasn't a typical punchy climb, it's too long. It isn't a typical long mountain but still. |

Funny. Gesink after the race "I guess Mollema didn't want to race today. He stayed in my wheel the entire climb"
He also said he still feels extremely well and didn't even bother to try and follow the accelerations because he knows they are too violent for him.
In the end he only lost 10s to Van Garderen and 20/30 to Nibali who tried to stay and blew. I think on the longer climbs that is gonna cost them. But Gesink will probably finish the tour 6/7/8th anyway. Don't think improving beyond that is realistic. Valverde, Quintana, Froome, Contador, Quintana are all clearly better. Van Garderen about the same level but with a 3m advantage. Thomas about the same level but has to work, could still drop. Nibali now improving and probably better, but the question is if he keeps that way |

Some photos I took today on this stage (about 40 km after the start from Rodez):
The early breakaway with a lot of riders.
The today winner Steve Cummings from MTN-Qhubeka, after Pierre Roland from Europcar.
Nairo Quintana; in the peloton, well protected by Movistar teammates.
Daniel Teklehaimonot and some meters behind: André Greipel ; in the end of the peloton.
Also I got 2 bottles today that will complete my collection Note that the Sky bottle has aluminum paper inside to protect cool water from outside temperature and this is the first time I see that.
