16th by Lövkvist is good, nice seeing him trying with a break.
Also good to get Bjelkmark on 25 after a great TT by him.
Thanks for the reports tsmoha! |

Huh? Theoratical 2nd best climber goes in the break, awesome, but not strong enough... 4th best climber Kononenko gets a good place, 14th GC, really unexpected. Topchanyuk and Krasnoperov... Nope...

Well done Ardila Cano getting in the break, and being one of the best 'survivors' when the big guns started firing. He may be getting on a bit, but has proven a decent FA signing for this season thus far - nothing too flashy, just steady performances. On the other hand, Talansky again completely anonymous - I believe under 20 points total and about half his race days used for the season, not good at all, and certainly not worthy of 425K wages, oh dear! . So Ardila Cano saves our bacon here and we manage to scrape towards 20PPRD, although in a 3-day stage race you initially hope for more.
Congrats to dev on the overall victory - this should project ONCE straight into mid-table after a slow start. Similarly Buff with 2 in top 10 in this HC outing; I predict life is going to be very tight in PCT I reckon from about 5-6th all the way down perhaps as far as 27/28th as the season develops.
Other brief thoughts:
* He keeps racking up the points but Machado still failing to dominate his stage race peers in the way he was expected to do so pre-season, and think Contador still has finished above him every outing this season (?).
* Surprisingly good result by Kononenko (Mtn 75) for COC as he was not in the BoTD.
* Project 1t4i best of the PT visitors with a couple of guys in the top 20 so take some points home, other PT pretty anonymous (unsurprisingly given the stage race depth in PCT).
The obligatory thanks to TSM - Mr. PCT reporter par excellance.

Well, That was pathetic showing from our team. Wrong guy gets into the breakaway and the rest of my climbers decide to take the day off and not show themselves. Agh. I really hope this isn't a sign for the rest of mountainous PCT races I'm in.

So The Rider was right.. nice podium for Pistolero. Strong stuff from him, he keeps scoring for Bonscuro well and really is his money worth. BPost with a great points score after the 3 days of racing and gratz to ONCE!

Great stage race for bpost and ONCE. Both teams in need of a Good result like, so it's nice to ser them at the top here.
Contador keeps humiliating Machado at every event. Kudos to Bonsucro for hiring the right man. Fortunately though Machado keeps scoring reasonably.
A word for Keizer as well, who's managed to be involved in MTFs with ease this year. That should be a relief for roturn, I'm sure.
And finally, a huge word of appreciation towards tsmoha, for his colossal work!

Another top 15 secured unfortunately it doesn't seem to be enough to keep us up but as long as we keep racking them up then we can avoid last place which is what I'm aiming for this season.
Getting Wohrer in the massive break was good as it allowed him to hang on for 26th on GC and secure us a few more points.

Not really what I wanted to see from Garby. I feel bad for Mre. He had a lot of options and none of them seemed to try.

Thanks guys, as said this was a very needet result in a really mediocre season start!
Brajko, you absouloute legend!
Had a good feeling about the race already after the great ITT, then Brajko followed crucial move and I just hoped he could hang on with the big guns. The attack after that was really suprising and and I had to check twice when the report said he had opened up a 40 second gap quickly!
The rest is history.
This race could literally not have gone any better, Janez grabbing the queen stage, winning the GC with over a minute advantage is just class, aswell as a awesome effort on the ITT. Taking the points jersey were also a nice suprise.
Winning the youth jersey with my small 'project' Ablenado is a nice bonus aswell. Didnt expect him to win it over Aru tbh.
Also, huge thanks for big efforts tshoma, really appreciated!

Quite a nice race for the team, shame Marquez couldn't make the GC Top 5 though. Have to say he's been performing a little worse than I had hoped for when I signed him, but one hell of a lot better than I feared for when I saw all those other climbers in the division. Also nice to see Robert putting in a first cameo for us, as well as Marquez apparently being our top sprinter here.

Well, he got +2 in mountain training.
With 81 mo I would have been disappointed, if he sucks in climbing. |

Shonak, Contador loses his winning streak but a GC podium is what we wanted here and he delivers! Watching the report I was a bit sceptical that a top 5 might be out of reach, but credit to Contador though, he set the pace the last few kilometres and still held on for 3rd.
So, Gustav, Contador has bested Machado in all three races this season. Clearly being a National Champ gives you extra powers! Next up for Contador is Vancouver where there is no Machado, how will that go?
Congrats to ONCE, they have really upped their game this season with activity so it is nice to see their first massive result. Just like last season they had a terrible start to the season but will soon bounce right up the rankings.
Thanks tsmoha. |

Rough race for us in terms of the GC, but that wasn't really ever in the cards, Saldarriaga though comes through huge getting us the KoM jersey and really giving us some value to this race and repaying the team for having a handful of climbers to throw at races.

Sure. But hey you'd expect his TT stat to be the differentiator in stage races, but he hasn't really used that in his favour.

This was a superb race for us all round. 2nd place for VDB is a great result and I puts us right back into the promotion race.
Thanks tsmoha, your work is incredible.
