Oh god did Kirby just say it's not Argon as in the noble gas, but Aragon as in the Spanish province?
Wait for tomorrow when Kirby informs you it's actually Aragorn, and by the time we reach Paris it'll be Aragog.

Oh good old Dowsy, struggling before we have even reached Aspet. Gonna have a hard time, could use some of that climbing fuel of Stannard and Rowe |

I wouldn't mind seeing some stage glory hunting later on from Contador; Alpe d'Huez comes to mind. He doesn't need to be far down in GC since he'd do it either way. What's important of course are his legs. If he feels good in third week I'm sure he'll expand the long list of his heroics.
His 2011 attack after 17km on the Alpe d'huez stage is one of the stages i enjoyed the most.
Yeah, it's also one of the stages I enjoyed the most of him alongside Fuente De, Etna and Guardiagrele and just like now, he failed the Double back then and had a pretty horrible Tour early on (crashes). So, might be that we get some of that 2011 vibe again in third week. I'd appreciate it.

I just noticed the new 'Rate this Post' options; Zabel'd, what a classic.
Anyway, what I always like about Alberto Contador is the fact he would rather take a gamble on a surprise or long-range attack that on the right day changes the race in his favour than slowly fade away. If nothing else it always serves to liven up the race action.
Shame SBS aren't broadcasting the entirety of the stage despite the fact that they could if they really wanted to, what else is online streaming for if not this.

Dowsett you twat
Seriously tho, he could get a TdF-spot on this team many years forward, especially if they includes TTT's. He just has to improve his climbing a bit, cause this guy cant climb if it depended of his life |

I just finished a time lapse of Plateau de Beille last kilometers : https://youtu.be/...
I make this from streetview images, I know it's a bit fast but I hope this is useful as a preview.
Maybe I will do some of the last mountain stage too. |

Coquard with his best Voeckler impression, only thing that made me think it was Coquard was he lacks the national stripes

Rain is imo overrated, there wont be any decisive descents and he doesnt care if it rains on Beille. It doesnt seem to rain too much either
Could prove decisive for Contador tho, Riis has stated many times that he has suffered from pollen most notably in the Giro, but also in the Tour |

I think Fuglsang will prove to be the strongest in the break and win the stage unless the Sky train is hunting another stage win.

Not overrated. There's been a preriod of draught according to the Dutch commentators meaning the roads will get more slippery compared to when it's been raining for several days already. Riders have been warned through the communication devices already.

Overrated in the sense that the descents arent decisive, fx. if Froome isnt comfortaible going downkill, his team will just pace him back in the valleys. Its another ball game in the Alps |
