Don't think so. Fuglsang waited for Nibali at first, but then ended up finishing 1 minute and a half in front of him. So, I guess it's for real. Still all they could hope for now in the GC is a top 10.

What a stage. Best racing i have seen in a long time! Everybody went all in!! No more playing around, right?!
Summed up nicely by Shut Up Legs, the boys going at it. |

Yep, after Hesjedal placed himself in the bottom 1/5 on the climb and got dropeed immediately. I frickin love Hesjedal. He is just one of a kind, haha.
He won't finish as high as he did in the Giro but whats the bet we see him slowly but surely work his way up the GC

Buchmann 36th towing Nerz to the finish line, he said he might've been able to go a bit faster if he was on his own.
Very promising, and I wonder if Bora will continue to use him for that or if he'll be allowed to make his own experiences at some point, maybe even in one of those big breaks in the second half of the race. A Top 25 for Nerz isn't exactly worth sacrificing TV time for.

Also, Gesink could potentially finish inside the top 30 in all the stages of the Tour

I so hope Gesink will podium, but there are so many stages to go. I'm just happy he did this. Some people will have forgotten how many potential Gesink showed at 20 years old |

Missed the stage, but a great performance from Barguil, considering his hard crash earlier in the stage. |

Fuglsang won't finish in the top 10, he will have one or 2 good days but will crack massively in some others. Astana would be better of going stage hunting

Well, he was the third strongest climber from those that are still going for the GC... but it's still a long way to go. Before the Tour, I'd have taken a top 10 for him at any time so even a top 5 would be a huge performance.
Let's hope that all his personal problems are now behind him. It's amazing to see him back after all he's been through

He's still pretty young isn't he? It would be good to see the German national champs jersey in a break

Im not sure about that. He has done one very good Tour in 2013 and has been climbing good throughout this year - top-10 is definetely in his grasp if he can avoid one of those days...
Lets see. |

Oh yeah true, shit happens...
Plateau de Beille: 43:28, Marco Pantani. Could be fun watching Froome shit on that time.
Froome's time was under 41 minutes today.
They are talking about the upcoming Plateau stage, not the climbing times of todays stage. First time up this climb in the Tour and after seeing it I hope they use it again
Woops, think somebody needs to go to bed...
I agree, the changes in gradient of the climb made it feel like three different climbs rolled into one. |

Half of the posts on this forum are just pathetic. I'd like to hear the reaction to a guy like Merckx. Yes, cycling has changed a lot, but if there is no evidence, it is pretty unreasonable to spend all of your time speculating about doping. A good performance does not equal drugs. Especially a good performance from sky, the team which spends money on just about every variable. I wish this forum could just grow up.
Spoiler I'm not saying sky is clean, but without evidence, how can we spend some much time talking about doping? |

If he is smart and rides his own pace when things go wrong then maybe he can go top 5, he will have some bad days but if he doesn't go to deep when that happens and with some of the time gaps after todays stage he is a chance

There's been a lot of evidence for the past few years (See Sky doping thread), and these insane performances are evidence too (very circumstantial, but yes).

With the history of this sport how can people not talk about it? If the internet was around when Merckx was around i'm sure the forums would of been full of doping talk, I mean the guy got pinged for doping so it would of come up all the time. The fact that some on the forum know alot of doping still in the peloton but still love the sport is a sign of being grown up.

Circumstantial, perhaps, but it's not enough to spoil one of the best sports events in the world. |

Froome can't even sit on a bike properly. He was a below average talent, and a below average rider about to run out of a contract in 2011. Then everything changed when the Sky nation attacked... |
