"Hi, I'm Ian, I'm a wuss and I need help from an internet forum to pick up girls."
"Hi, Ian".
Okay I don't really need help "picking up girls" but I could use some advice.
I'll keep it short;
I do some parttime work and every day a girl comes in to pick up something where I work. I see her for 2 minutes every day, talk a little bit, nothing major.
Thinking about asking her to hang out one time. But if she wouldn't want to, or it would end badle, I'd still need to see her 2 minutes every day.
So, anyone has had similar experience with these kinds of things, could do with some advice, thanks |

Not that I have actually tried it as such, but how about slipping a small note with whatever she's picking up next time suggesting to meet in a café or something.
In these situations the general advice is usually to go for it, but if there's a lot of people around asking her out on the job could quivkly become awkward.

The job is on a school, so there is 20 or so kids around
And I'm not too sure about a note. I'm more a traditional kind of guy. Though getting shot down after a note is less humiliating than in person

What Atlantius said. Then again, it depends on where you work If you work in a Cafe, yeah, i'm sure she wouldn't mind getting a note like that with her coffee. If you sell coffins, i'm not so sure about it. And iif you do it, make sure it doesn't sound creepy/stalkey.

This is probably one where talking time is encouraged. Build up a rapport over a couple of weeks. Simple questions and things just so you move beyond part of the job.
Then just asking her out to a more social thing rather than a date. If you have to see her every day it's not worth the risk of asking her out and things just being awkward if you fail. Something like a casual event, sporting or a gig in a pub where she could bring some friends as well.
Basically get away from the job atmosphere first, then go in for the kill

Right. I have decided to blow the dust off this thread because I am currently the title of it. And, since most of you lot are teenagers and in American terms I'd be in sixth grade, you seem to be the only people to help me with this(yes, I've already become that sad).
Right. Let's refer to these people as Girls A.B and C .
Girl A- Someone who I thought liked me, but then blanked me. After a long time of nothing happening, I accidently put her up the wrong way. Now, I'm not sure what happens next.
Girl B- Someone who has only been at our school a few months, but who I genuinely like, and talk to a lot. However, she's best mate of A.
Girl C- Someone who I have known for eight years, and have had a crush on for all that time. However, as far as I'm concerned, a bit of a last resort.
My year is currently in the transition period between cooties and this thing being cool. Oh, and this is slightly desperate, as it's our very own mini prom. Help.
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Well it really depends on what you are looking for. Do you want a serious relationship? Or are you looking for a girl to just be dating and intimate with?
It sounds like you are looking for the latter as it looks like you're keeping your options open. If you were to look for something really serious I'd just tell you to figure out which one you want to be with the most and go conquer her.
In a more casual case you just have to do whatever feels right and what makes you more comfortable. Personally, I'd just pick a girl and go for it (maybe I'm just not enough of a player) but if you don't want to upset whatever social ecosystem you have going on and want to keep your options open, I'd go for what brings the least amount of drama and damage to the table.

Both questions from ShortsNL need to be clarified. |

Someone to be intimate with? I thought you were in 6th grade. That's a little strange phrasing for an 11or 12 year old.

Look you're in sixth grade in american terms so you're 11 or 12 as baseball said, one piece of advice as someone who is 15 and went through the same thing as you is wait and when I mean wait, I mean untill at least the en of seventh grade (in american terms)
This is why:
1) Getting to know them
You get to know those girls better and try to think if you actualy like them or is it a situation wherer you're like "she's hot and nice" or if you're like "Oh my fucking god she is the most amazing person ever"
2) Delopment
I'm gonna put this in PG terms
Girls are still developing, and one of them may get really good looking or one may become not so good looking
3) The pool will get smaller if you start early
Okay this happened to one of my good friends so be careful
So my friend got into girls pretty early and had "gone out" (as we called it) with 5 girls from 5 different groups of girls at our school
and girls don't date guys who broke up with one of their friends (for the most part) so he got into 7th grade and no one really was interested in him for the very reason that he went out with one of their friends. As he continued into high school girls from other schools made group with girls from the groups with the girls that he had gone out with.
So basically, his pool of girls had been extreamly comprimised because he had gone out with those girls in sixth grade.
Moral of that story: Don't be a man slut (dont know what better word to use)
Okay and if its realy urgent ask one of them that youre the closest with to go to your "mini prom" with you as friends, then if you like her, you've basically already gone on a date with her and if you want to stay friends then nothing changes
just ask if you need any clarification on anything
Edit: personally I think sixth grade is way too early

You lot are right, especially when I got my flippin' confusing years mixed up- anti-climax, I'd be in fifth.

Awesome. We have an (almost) 15 year old giving advice to a 10 year old on an online forum, regarding the right time to start *insert whatever word you see fit to replace this*. This all comes as a result of a (20+?) year old in ShortsNL trying to simplify love life to a person half his age. Which is succeeded by a 14 year old trying to overemphasize a particular phrase and its practical implication.
This is pure gold.
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Do you mean 5th-class/grade or 5th Year? Speaking in Irish-english (read: slang) the former would make you 10 years old, the ladder would be 16/17.
If you mean the ladder, your story would be reasonable. If it is the former, than I have to agree with Maxime, eventhough it is as the numbers guy said, pure gold!
Edit: Sorry 547984...

Okay, so I'm just saying this needs to return. I've read through this entire thread tonight, and it is just great!
And it definitely doesn't need to return because I need to sue it... I mean maybe it... okay, it does, but that's besides the point for now.
My story is quite funny and still ongoing. I'll get into it tomorrow. I just figured we should restart this, since I've already been asking for a lot of advice and such in the Daily Skype call.
