@Hoyle - As long as you read i don't mind about a lack of comments
Chapter 1: The Beginnings
IX: Step Up, Pt.1
Color had to wait a couple more weeks into February to appear though. My birthday came around and I turned 16. The middle of the academic year isn't the best place to have a birthday but it opened the way to change things up a bit. The Cross Country season was easing off a bit before the bigger late season events so I gained my Saturdays back for rides with the club. I was out with them the Saturday after my birthday, Feb. 20th, and one of the members mentioned Club Races.
From March the club would begin hosting weekly races on a Sunday. They did this every year as the weather started warming up again, not that it was really cold. Being 16 I could take part in some of the races provided I could get parental consent. So I asked them that evening if they could sign the form and let me do some races on Sundays.
They said no. School was too important and I should be focusing on Cross Country they argued. It wasn't the worth the fight and I was just happy to be going back out with the Cub each week. However being regularly back on longer riders got me itching very quickly to do more. So I hatched a plan to get permission, I quit Cross Country!

You know I'm reading! I know you don't particularly like comments like 'nice' or whatever so don't have something interesting to say with each update |

@ALL - I won't be getting the rest of Chapter 1 posted before my summer job starts. In fact i don't expect to get any more updates posted for at least 2-3 weeks, and probably nothing more until September. It's all finished i just don't have time to take it, check it and put it up in the correct format.
Hopefully it'll be back down the line when i've got time. Certainly it's a story i want to write and continue with some nice new things planned out. If it doesn't come back for a while it's not due to a lack of motivation but a lack of time or that other things take greater priority.
