Head to Head / Organized By Mresuperstar

* Must Read Before Signing Up *

What Is This?

In it's simplest form this is a new cycling league where
cyclists go one-on-one against each to determine who is the best.
Over time this league created by the community will expand and evolve.

Basic Structure

This league runs in seasons and is divided by weeks.
The number of weeks per season is flexible along with number of riders.
Each season new cyclists get the chance to enter while others are kicked out.

Season 1 / Starting Format

To start 16 custom riders will make up the league.
They will be divided into two conferences of 8 cyclists each.
For Season 1 the conferences are named: Lemond and Hinault.

Each rider will go head to head with every cyclist in the league.
This is also known a round-robin tournament style.
A total of 15 races, or in game terms, 15 weeks.

At the end of the 15 weeks the 4 teams with the best record
in their conferences move on to the single elimination playoffs.
Ties are broken by head to head victory and victory margins (time gaps).

LemondHinault
1 Seed1 Seed
4 Seed1/4 Seed1/2/3/4 Seed1/4 Seed4 Seed
Champion
2 Seed2/3 Seed1/2/3/4 Seed2/3 Seed2 Seed
3 Seed3 Seed

The Cyclists

Are created by you! Each member can control one cyclist.
You decide how they progress to help them win the championship.

Each cyclist starts out with all 60's in every stat before every season.
Before the first week of the season every player is given a total of
100 individual stat increases to boost your cyclist however you want.

All starting stats will be private and won't be published on the thread.

Every week you lose a head to head you are given 10 stat increases.
These increases during season will posted on the thread for everyone to see.
They continue to build on top of each other until the season is over.

The stats are wiped clean after the season is over, however
for making the playoffs your cyclists starts with 110 stat increases.
For winning the Championship that cyclist starts the new season with 125.

The worst 25% of the cyclists after each season are forced to retire.
Inactives go first and then the riders that finished last in the standings.

These cyclists are replaced by new member first and if there is
still room sign-ups will open for previous members to create a new cyclist.
Prove you read the rules by include your cyclist's country flag in sign-up PM.

Cyclists age can range from 18-37. Each season represents one year.
Cyclists are forced to retire once they reach the age of 38.

The Head to Head league also limits one cyclist per country to compete.

The Races

Each Head to Head during a week will take place on the same course.
This stages can range from any type of terrain and distance.

The regular season and playoff race terrains will always
be published before the season starts; at that time you will
then be asked to PM me with your cyclists starting stats for the season.

The races will be run in Quick Sim of PCM14 Stage Race mode.
So, no PCM jerseys are need and there are no pictures in this story/game.
It's only the results that matter which are influences by the mystery stats.

Speed of Game

This is very flexible to my schedule. I will post updates whenever I find time
but creating the reports should be very easy to manage and quick.

There will always be a 48 hour grace period between weekly updates
for the losing cyclist managers to post their stat upgrades on the thread.

Questions?

Shoot me a PM or say something on the thread.
I'll be happy to clear up any confusion you might have.

Will there be bonuses for time gaps/good performances or will a loss be a loss? Because my rider looks to be very all-around so will lose mostly but be close every time, but he does have 20 seasons to progress. Also, how do we update. Will it be similar to Ian's CX game with role-playing? I thought of doing a small role-play road race game like that. Also, will there be any ITTs?

Getting wins is most important but the second tiebreaker is by margin. Which basically means total time you have lost by. A more well rounded cyclist will benefit here.

There is no season to season progression. Every cyclist has their stats reset to 60 and we go again with new races and cyclists each season. The only difference is every cyclist that made the playoffs the year before get 110 stat uprades to start with, the reining champion gets 125 while every else is at the standard 100.

Yes there will be TTs.

I can see your next big story: Keeping up with The Lipawskys. You can have that for free. A two rider story following Sylvain and Pierre. Half aCross the road, half Double Feature/A tale of two.

Correct. This could be increased in future season but for now I want to see how this works. Remember you also get 10 stat increases every week you lose a head to head.
