VoetsT: One banana for each win
Jakstar: You did - and he did
Ian: Thanks, he almost cracked the final time over the hill though.
kubys: There shouldn't be much doubt about that now
SilasColdfire: Thanks!
Matthew21rp: That's what they call him
sutty: That's the one
welker: And he has the jerseys to prove it
MrUfo87: He certainly is
Miguel: He is. Preidler stats attached.

Miguel: You're welcome. He is very strong, but I don't think he have been given a lot of chances to ride his own chance throughout the year though. With this form that might change in Il Lombardia though

Il Lombardia
Il Lombardia is Il Lombardia…
As last year we have brought the World Champion and made him designated captain to give him the best possible start of his rainbow year.
A lot of riders try to get away, but a lot of teams are also dedicated to preventing that from happening so there’s not a lot to say from the first 80 km of the race.
On the first climb a group of 12 gets a small gap.
As that gap approaches two minutes we send Olafurson to work in the peloton and the young Icelandic quickly cut the gap to less than a minute with 120 km to go.
Iglinskiy, Madrazo and Van Garderen decides to try their luck with 110 km still to go, but Quaade and Karjalainen just keeps on working hard in front of the peloton keeping them within reach.
80 km to go. Since no one wants to help us work the peloton has 5 minutes to the break, which now also counts Caruso, Cataldo and Chalapud.
With 70 km to go Chris takes over from Cort and Quaade, who are both completely empty. Fortunately Liquigas have started chipping in as well.
It’s a balance act between catching the break and avoiding to crack Edvald on the climbs.
With just over 30 km to go there’s still just over three minutes from the 37-rider peloton to the front and we have to put Breschel to work as well.
With 15 km left Cataldo, Caruso, Chalapud and Van Garderen holds on to a lead of 2’30
Looks like we might have failed in our effort to chase them down.
Nevertheless we continue the chase and with following Kolobnev’s attacks we might still have a slim chance to battle for the win.
With 11 km left only Cataldo hangs on to a lead.
Preidler attacks soon after. Chris and Edvald tries to hang on, but it looks like they are closing in on their limits.
8 km left. Eddy, Chris, Ulissi, Callegarin, Cunego and Gasparotto has 36 seconds to Preidler and Cataldo who are now united in front.
Chris gives it everything in the chase and the front duo only has 15 seconds when they start sprinting.
For obvious reasons everyone seems to be looking at Edvald behind and he is forced to start sprinting already 2 km out if we are to catch up with the front duo.
He reaches Preidler under the red flame.
The Austrian doesn’t have much of a sprint. Especially not after 239 km of racing.
Gasparotto puts in a strong finish but should probably have jumped to Hagen’s wheel instead of staying behind Chris until the final km.
Had he done that he might very well have taken the win...
Another great team effort and another hard day’s work from Chris in service of the team.

No curse there
I think EBH will be one of the strongest World Champions ever. He'll win a lot. I hope

sutty: How it's supposed to be
VoetsT: The only way we know
the_hoyle: Thanks for the banana
Ian: Let's hope so. He certainly has the skills, but it will be hard for him to top a year where he got two pages in the big history book...
Jakstar: Even though it came close he certainly showed everyone that his jersey is no coincidence

MrUfo87: When they take the decision to stay in Chris Anker Sørensens "slipstream" instead of following Boasson Hagen they don't deserve more than this
welker: I think will stick with Boss or possible "Rainbows" for now

Edvald!! Not one, not two, but three wins in a row. They shouldn't just make chapters and pages about him in a history book, he deserves a history book of cycling all of his own.

Matthew21rp: It certainly was! We'll see how far he can carry the form as he wont get into action again before Beijing.
24sebaf1: I wouldn't be surprised if they overthrew the royals and made a republic just to be able to make EBH president after this
And welcome to the forum, hope you will enjoy it here!
