Why not be able to start at lvl 1 and only 18 years old (with close to 55 on all stats)?
Yes, if we could start at lvl 1 and the stat progression would be linear over 25 lvl, i think we would have a more realistic game.
DonĀ“t misunderstand me, for me its agreat game mode!

Currently riding in the Giro (3rd season) and wasn't leader but was given free role. Managed to build a gap of a minutes over my leader up until stage 14 which was a long individual time trial. In this time trial i beat my team leader by 5 minutes to hold a 6 minute gap over him (who is also second behind me in overall). Not sure what other people would expect but personally i thought i should have been made team leader for the rest of the tour with such a gap. Not sure if the game changes roles during races or not but certainly i think it's something that should be in the game.

I've had a similar experience so far. The game seems to stick with same leader from start of a race.
I've been several minutes ahead of the team leader and don't get any protection. Even head team leader attack me.
Basically BeAPro mode is You vs Everyone Else. It is good, some small tweaks and it'll be very good.

Maybe the game does not expect you to attack your leader?
And if you do, the team does not like it and does not support you.

I suppose the fact that i've attacked my leader towards the end of stages is something that could have made the team director unhappy with me. maybe some conversation with the director is something that could be brought in next year and if you disobey team orders it could effect your relationship and chances of being offered contract with the current and other teams

I'm starting my 4th season right now and have no stats higher than 77 (besides 79 resistance) and that includes 3 gained levels before the patch that slowed down progression.
To experience slower evolution it helps to train your weaker stats. Get everything up to 65 first before specialising. Additionally, I you can try and "avoid" XPs from long brakeaways or KOM jerseys and such.
If your rider behaves like a normal young rider (staying in the peloton most of the time, heloing teammates, etc.) you'll progress at a more normal rate. If you go berserk hunting KOMs and stage wins every time like almost no rider ever does, you'll get an abnormal progression. I think it's actually quite well balanced, but the initial stats might be a little bit too high.
My wins so far can be traced back to playing on "normal" or the usual AI-hickups every now and then.
This!
I am also in my 4th seaon with stage racer, 22 years old and i dont have over ridiculous stats despite three levels with old pre-patch system (i have 78MO,76HILL,75TT,79REC,73STA rest is way lower, like 68ACC or 65FLAT).
Why? Because i am not playing easy/normal, where i can win every third race i enter and thus i dont get shitloads of XP and i am just lvl 18, so plenty of room for development until some 27-28years i would think. I am also riding with cycling rules in mind and not attacking 10 times like crazy or joining every break. Either i am one of the favourites and wait protected by team, or i am outsider and i join attack here and there, not hunting every KOM and jersey possible...
I am also switching focus of my training between stage racing, puncheur, climber, barodeur and sprinter, so i can have overall solid stats and not just one or two overpowered.
The progression with my rider is perfect fo me now and i think that further slowing of this process would be frustrating for me. So as others say, let us choose, if there needs to be some change. Better focus on other aspects of the mode, like cooperation with your team.
Bigger problem for me are the other guys who are worldbeaters in 22, but that was before i installed Kentaurus file. There is an australian stage racer in my save, he is 22 and has 82MO and 79TT. With 58ACC

So Evans
Looks like a nice game oyu have there, Avin.
I, myself, am playing with a nice guy now, too. A puncher but training baroudeur and cobbled classic specialist constantly (trains all stats about equally so getting better gradually.
Only in my second season (after Lotto U23 now with Topsport) but stats way better than my first career. Had about 6 victories in the U23, with brave attacking on the crucial moment. In my first PCT season it's harder, though. Though an early season highlight with winning classic Loire Atlantique!
Aim is to make a Gilbert but then a Gilbert who is in form more able to contest for GT stage wins, classics and - of course - monuments. Big goal is to win 4 out of the 5 monuments. Only Roubaix might be too hard. Like Gilbert could do if he was slightly better/ had more luck, I think, he could win San Remo, Ronde, Liege and Lombardia.

My pro never gets selected to the national team U23 races (Ncup). I've had the Roompot ZLM tour, the Course de la Paix and a couple of one-day races in my race schedule, and clearly visible on the training screen, but I didn't get to ride them.
My rider is a Swedish stage racer and I'm using the basic realname database. When I check the results from the races I see that Sweden participated in the races but with three donkeys who had no chance of making good results.
Am I missing something? Should I confirm my participation somewhere (other than the normal race schedule)?
Tour de l'Avenir is coming up and I would really like to ride that...

Yeah, typical Evans (i can imagine him now, with his horrible style, good he is gone).
As you suggested, i am having a great fun with my career. Higlights of 3rd season as 21 year old (first from two in Lotto-Soudal) were winning the white jersey at Romandie (4th in GC) and in Poland (3th in GC).
That paved me the path to Vuelta, where i got slaughtered by S.Yates in white jersey battle, as he was the only one able to challenge dominating Quintana at least a bit. Third in GC was Majka and i was 4th! to close out the season and gain access to Tour de france. Just minute in front of Purito, who lost 3minutes in TT to my guy.
So now i am in my 4th year, probably last one in Lotto-Soudal, who just raplced Uran with Pinot as our main GT guy. So i left TdF alone for Pinot and concentrated on Giro-Vuelta white double. I am currently at the start off the Giro, but man, how tough the startlist can be. Majority of fomer young starts turned 26, but there are two regens (that Evans type and one insane acceleration 81 climber without TT), so the fight for white can prove impossible for my 78MO,75TT guy, we will see. Apart from that guys like Froome,Yates or Quintana are present, so even top10 would be great succes for my 22 years old prodigy.

Also SKY and Astana are having ridiculous squads in my save, what about yours? SKY is currently deploying squad of six 80+ climbers for the Giro and Astana has average AVG of their lineup on 79 or something like that.
Stats escaleted really quickly across the whole cycling board.

Awesome surprise!
Going into my second season, I had a tough time. My team gave me a tough schedule and not enough points to change it too much.
But what a pleasant surprise going into the Tour of Turkey. 42 participants only! If I can't podium a hilly stage here, I don't know where else!
Also, you can see my rider's stats in the bottom, in the Tour of Turkey in my 2nd season. Pretty balanced evolution so far, happy about that!
@Avin: before installing Kentaurus' XML files, I had way too strong opponents of too young an age. Now it's way better!

Does anyone know what happens if I pick a training style in which I maxed out the main attributes?
Let's say I'm a climber with 82 Mountain and that is my limit and I'm still training Mountain. Will that training be wasted or will it be transferred to other attributes? I'm asking because I don't know if I should invest in other stuff now that I'm 82 mountain.
