I left college last year and deffered my place in University to study Sports Journalism until next year. So Im working in a car factory and getting struck down with cold after cold which is keeping me of my bike for a long time , need to get back to it as training weekend in february. I found when I was in college I could focus more on cycling then now Im working, school/college was such an easy life

I swear schools are out to make money from students. I have to buy three books for English, just so that I can make notes. If I don't? I get detention, followed by isolation. I wouldn't mind, but I don't like English and will probably fail it anyway.

Had started for one, the other was supposed to be next week. Oh well, it gives time to do other things.

I have no idea what I want to study yet. I'm in 4th grade now (Dutch system) because I skipped a class in primary school, 6th grade is the exam year. I do the highest level of secondary education
I am considering these things (random order) :
1. IT/ICT
2. Psychology
3. Sports journalist (motorsports, cycling, athletics)
4. History
5. Politics
Anyone got experience with these things, or tips on how to choose?

Keep in mind you´ll have to do that your whole life. I had three main aspects that helped me deciding:
-fun
-job safety and freedom
-salary
You can´t reach the maximum in all three categories, so try to find something that´s a good compromise.

I'm going to bring up the teachers subject. One of my teachers, who speaks really annoying by the way, once came an hour and a half late because of headwind when he biked from his house in a village called Dalby which is like one eight kilometres from Lund. An hour and a half

Regardling history, do it through high school - it gives you a very well rounded education and will allow you to understand a lot about why the world is the way that it is. It will also encourage you to think about and through other cultures.
Now, when it comes to studying it at University, I would personally advise it only if you are really and truly passionate. History at Uni is great, but very, very different to the way it is taught at school. But the problem is that the avenues it takes you down are usually either government jobs (because you get a lot of great research skills and can express yourself well), administration positions, teaching or, if you are really passionate, going on to Postgraduate and researching/lecturing. So in terms of money, it is kind of a dead end and don't be under any illusion otherwise. But in terms of following a passion, nothing beats it if you truly love history. I'm doing my PhD in ancient history right now with the goal of becoming a Professor down the road. I love doing it, but it isn't the wealthiest lifestyle ever.
So there's some thoughts on the only one there that I know.

@felix_29: wise words, I'll keep it in mind
@CountArach: Thanks. I do like history a lot, it's my favorite subject, I think, I especially like the era of the Roman Republic and Carthage; the Punic Wars. The lessons about this era were pretty damn detailed btw
Also I find WWI very interesting, much more than WWII, at least.

Well go with what you love. Give it a go and see what suits you. Republican Rome has always been my main interest too but you will quickly find that there are many different fields, eras and texts that you've never really heard of and you are likely to just fall into whatever suits you.
