Well, it's hard to judge much based on your PSAT score, but it doesn't look like you're in that much trouble.

The annoying thing for me is that my school is way above everyone else in terms of smarts, so in Year 4 - 6 we learned Year 7 - 9 stuff, but now in high school we have to learn the same stuff as every other school, so I'm doing Year 5 stuff now in Year 8
Sat discussion- I took SAT in 7th grade as well, I got a 1350 on the reading + math, and like a 450 on the essay. I feel like it will be much easier without the essay, that was the worst part for me.

I didn't take it in 7th grade, but the format is different. There is an essay, then three math, three reading, and three writing on the high school SAT.

I do enjoy how non-standard the Standardized Assessment Tests are
I took some form of the test a few years ago (i'm British yes, was seriously considering going to Uni in the states, but that's another story) and scored 1800ish. Apparently for a non-US person that was pretty good, or at least it would have been enough to get me into most Uni's. I quite like it as style of test, nothing is open to opinion or interpretation, either the answer is right or wrong. On the flip side i'm not a fan negative marking

If you get an 1800 and you are from out of country you can go anywhere in the US. XD

No, I took the same high school SAT that you are taking now, I took it for the Duke TIP program. I was referring to 2017 (year I will take it) to when the essay will be optional
