The NQ Vote then is made up of the non-qualifiers' votes. 10 countries have cast their votes along with the finalists, so this round will make up for around 30% of the total amount. The Netherlands have also broken the record! They are now the act with the most points ever in the Daily Song Contest. That record has stood since the first edition! This is fjhoekie's highest ever placing in the DSC, last time he came last with the Faroe Islands, but this time he will take the trophy back to The Netherlands for the anniversary edition of the contest! Whilst we wait for Kensington to come on stage, let's have a look at the final top 3:

It's the first time ever in the DSC where the top 3 has stayed the same from the finalists' to the final result. The Netherlands is also the first country to ever win both the NQ Vote and the Finalists' Vote as well as taking the largest ever winning margin of 45 points. Anyway, here they are - it's your winners Kensington!
Wooooow! What a way to win the contest! We've had close narrow victories and now we have a clean sweep to remember as well, please tell us how you feel. There's a lot of relief, I can tell you that! We have tried so hard over the past week to get everything right, every note, every camera angle, every single detail of our performance in order to get the best result we could and look what's happened, it couldn't get any better! Now, this is your second time in the contest for The Netherlands, do you think you have benefited from being in the DSC bubble before? Everything that time was such a blur, but now we can remember this. We tried our best then with Armin van Buuren, but now we can celebrate a victory! We really take inspiration from K'NAAN who did the same in the 5th edition. Nothing compares to this feeling right now. What's the first thing you're going to do when you get off stage? Party! Personally, I need to rethink my strategies here. Once again, we do well in NQ voting, but not in the finalist votes. 15th is better than last I guess.

It feels good to finish on the podium, we even came close to overhauling Wales for 2nd but couldn't quite manage it. No idea what I'll enter for the next edition yet but I know it will be hard to repeat this level of success again.
Damn we were so close, its by far the best performance from Wales to date so we will be happy tinted with a bit of sadness.
Congratulations to the Netherlands and we look forward to visiting your country for the next contest.

With just 4 days to go until the launch of the 10th edition of the DSC, the first twist has arrived. For the very first time the host city will be decided by the fans through a vote. The winning city will host all 4 shows and will be the hub of the DSC world for the next month. You have the choice of 3 cities and arenas to choose from: Amsterdam, Arnhem or Eindhoven.
Proposed Arena - Amsterdam Arena [53,000] Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and lives on the mantra of 'live and let live'. Amsterdam is known for its canals that trail through the city, the beautiful districts of the Jordaan. Amsterdam is a city full of diversity and culture making it an ideal place for the world of DSC to meet.
Proposed Arena - GelreDome [41,000] Arnhem is the capital of the Gelderland and its name literally translates to 'the eagle's home'. It is a city that has undergone serious change during the last 50 years after WWII when Arnhem was a key battleground before being liberated by the British. In the city centre there is still a cathedral from the 15th century as well as one of the rivers that forms the famous Rhine River flows throuigh the city
Proposed Arena - Philips Stadion [35,000] Eindhoven sits in the Brabant region and has a population of around 200,000, of which 30% are foreign born. The city has played host to many major swimming championships through the years, showing that Eindhoven has the experience to welcome the DSC in June.

A celebration is at hand because the DSC has reached its 10th edition! And for this edition the tables will be turned, the rules will be re-written and it will do a world of difference to this special edition. For this edition the DBU have decided to make some changes around here starting with a special one-off rule for this 10th edition where ANY ACT CAN BE SENT UNDER ANY COUNTRY. The DBU wants to encourage the delegations to send their best entries to this edition and the way to do this is to break the borders. The head of the DBU said this: "Surely this edition will be one to remember, we hope we can celebrate a world of difference as well as creating a world of difference to the contest's competition also". We started our unique edition by allowing the DSC fans and delegations to choose our host city here in The Netherlands
After a vote for the host city selection, the Amsterdam ArenA has been chosen to host 56,000 DSC fans this June.
Selection Process & The Contest
As previously mentioned, the rules are completely different to usual as you can choose any artist and song for any country! You want to choose Justin Bieber for Spain - go ahead! You want to choose Royal Blood for Djibouti - that's ok! This will break down the walls of the contest and bring a whole new element to the contest. You have until 15th June 2017 to sign up for the contest. Read below to find out more rules about the submissions...
Once you've selected the song you will be allocated a semi-final. The highest scoring entries will qualify directly to the final whilst those who just missed out will progress to duel other songs in 'second chance'. The winners will then join the direct qualifiers in the Grand Final where the winner will be chosen.
The stage for all 4 shows will featuring a unique lighting rig that can by hoisted and moved around the stage for different performances bringing a personal touch to each entry.
Rules
The semi-final voting system is just like normal, it is anonymous and you can vote in any semi-final. The finalists' countries, and the world jury, will have their points read out by a spokesperson, but the other votes will be combined together to make up the non-qualifiers vote (NQ Vote).
Rules for Participation:
1.
The singer/band can represent ANY nation, but 2 countries can not send the same song or main artist.
2.
The songs can be in any language, doesn't have to be in English.
3.
The songs MUST be under 10 minutes long.
4.
Voting will be done privately via PM to me (EwanWilson), using the usual Eurovision system (1-7 + 8,10 & 12) within the voting period.
5.
You can choose any UN country or any autonomous region (f.e. the UK is split up, Faroe Islands, Greenland etc.), if you have any enquiries, just PM me.
6.
There is NO rules regarding age, therefore any age can participate in the DSC.
7.
Winning songs of the actual Eurovision can NOT enter (F.E Jamala - 1944), but all other Eurovision related entries are welcome (F.E Francesco Gabbani - Occidentali's Karma or Benjamin Ingrosso - Good Lovin' ).
Amsterdam is the host nation's capital city and is the centre piece of Dutch culture.
