Shame on everyone but me for not giving well-wishes! Ride through it, and get in lots of breaks to stay away from pack crashes!

Everyone but you and me.
I second your thoughts on riding through and minimizing risks.

Ride Tour of Britain - the experience gained from such a huge race is important, and breakaways or working in front of the peleton will minimize crashes.. If he stays in front on most of the stages, surely his Manager will accept that he finishes behind the peleton due to exhaustion.

Quick question, regarding rules.
Are we allowed to suggest growth in "hidden values" like position changes, versility, important matches etc?
Or will these values change through a natural course in the story?
The reason I ask is that his skills would suit say a winger, so training a new position, might evolve him even further.
It's a combination of both. Making suggestions never hurts, but won't always be implemented. Hidden values will change when I see fit, but position changes can happen over time given the outlook of his team and where Marcus could fit in best. His primary two positions right now are central midfielder and right winger.
Thanks for clarifying - I will keep that in mind in my future suggestions.

+5 Teamwork,
Play Football, don't need your wrist much for that, he needs to make a good impression on his teammates as turning up with the cast can't have made a good first impression so he needs to correct that. And he can't go missing the Canvey Island game, playing against his former club has got to give him extra motivation like it does for most players.
No Cycling, the wrist is needed too much that it would effect him and the teams best chance is probably with a fully fit rider instead of having him ride it. Plus we definitely don't want to see him crash and injure it further which considering his love for getting involved in bunch sprints isn't exactly playing it safe and if he avoids the sprints then he isn't exactly filling his normal role for the team anyway so may aswell let them send someone who can.

Nobody cares when you sit out friendlies because of an injury. But, things start to get tense when you are watching on the sidelines with a fractured wrist and the team could really use you on the field in the regular season. A lot of the guys wanted me to tough it out, but I just wasn't going to take that risk. Some of the guys on the team have even given me a nickname, "Prima Donna Diamond."
Deserved or not, I felt helpless sitting out the first 5 games of the regular season. Every opponent we faced have hopes of winning the title this season.
Match Day #1: 3-1 win at Barton Rovers (0-0-0)
Match Day #2: 2-0 loss vs. rivals Canvey Island (1-0-0)
Match Day #3: 2-1 loss at Bury Town (1-0-1)
Match Day #4: 2-0 loss vs. Tilbury (2-0-1)
Match Day #5: 1-0 loss at Coggeshall (2-1-1)
After the season-opening win where Romoney Crichlow-Noble, Ryan Charles and Jack Cresswell all scored in the last 20 minutes, we've sucked. Period. Charles got another goal against Bury Town, but that's it. Shutout against Canvey Island with James Walker scoring twice was also a punch in the face from my former team.
The team needed me. I wasn't 100%, but I couldn't be a bystander anymore.
Match Day #6 vs. Harrow (3-0-2) Debut time. I have to inject new life into this team.
Spoiler Witham 6, Harrow 0
Summary: We are back bitches! Goal, goal, goal, goal, goal and goal. Ryan Charles with a hat trick and we completely dominate Harrow.
Rating: 9.1 - Even at 80% fitness I complete the full 90 minutes for the best rating of my career. That felt good. The icing on the cake was assisting the hat trick goal for my buddy Charles.
Player of Game: Ryan Charles, Witham (9.7)
League Standing (6/44 Games Played)
Nothing gets under your skin more than seeing your former club at the top of the standings. Mark my words. We will get our revenge on January 5th.
I've decided to race the Tour of Britian with JLT Condor from September 2-9. I'll try my best to stay out of trouble. This means, however, I'll miss the game against Grays on the 4th, but I can make double duty work on the 8th (if I feel up to it). Other than that, I have no other race clashes to worry about.

Awesome debut for Marcus. Seems like he slotted into the team very well and contributed a lot. Stunning assist too!

After Marcus' move to a new club he has picked up a new supporter. I have to say that these 12 pages of reading where definitely worth it to keep up with his progression.

Sedated on pain killers, I got on my bike. I wasn't going to miss my home tour. I knew the risk, but for me it was worth it. Just don't crash and I'll be fine.
Race Day #22-29 at OVO Energy Tour of Britain Let's have some fun and put on a show in front of friends and family.
Spoiler
Summary: A nervous start to the day with a heavy downpour, but luckily it clears up before the finish. A straight sprint decides it.
Result: 16th - I picked the wrong wheel and I didn't really want to get up in the mix at the front in my first race back. I played it safe like my doctor, manager and mom wanted.

Spoiler
Summary: Another sprint finish.
Result: 77th - I got some TV time in a six-man breakaway. Over the final classified climb there was only four of us and I was driving the tempo.
We didn't have the juice to go the distance, getting caught with 20kms to go. Had we reached that final incline 5kms from the finish, I think I could have taken off and held off the peloton. At least that's what my aim was.
I was able to hang onto the back of the peloton to finish in the front group. Too bad I didn't win any time bonuses while in the breakaway.

Spoiler
Summary: Breakaway caught and it's mad dash up the final climb. Dylan Van Baarle claims the win and yellow jersey for home Team Sky.
Result: 14th - I picked my way through the field at a steady pace up the climb and settle for a Top 15, 25 seconds off the winning group of nine cyclists. On the bright side, I was the best UK finisher. In GC, I'm tied for 12th, 35 seconds back with teammate Ian Bibby.
1 | Dylan Van Baarle | Team Sky | 4h32'20 | 2 | Garikoitz Bravo | Euskadi Basque Country - Murias | s.t. | 3 | Larry Warbasse | Aqua Blue Sport | s.t. | 4 | Eduard Prades | Euskadi Basque Country - Murias | s.t. | 5 | Wilmar Paredes | Manzana Postobon Team | s.t. |
Spoiler
Summary: The final mini incline proves to be a challenge and six cyclists get 23 seconds clear from the rest.
Result: 13th - For once, following the Sky member wearing the yellow jersey doesn't pay off. Dylan Van Baarle sputters on the final climb and I just stuck with him to conserve some energy. I've been racing a little too hard the last couple of days.
Baarle somehow gets lucky and keeps yellow. I've moved up into a tie for 10th place in GC, still 35 seconds back. Three flat stages and a time trial through London to come.

Spoiler
Summary: Marcus Diamond tries to stir things up with an attack with 5kms to go. The Team Sky mountain train is all over that. In the end, it just looks like a foolish attempt.
Jon Aberasturi goes on to take the win.
Result: 19th - It was worth a shot, but Team Sky shows why they are Team Sky. I've learned my lesson.
1 | Jon Aberasturi | Euskadi Basque Country - Murias | 4h38'30 | 2 | Jonas Koch | CCC Sprandi Polkowice | s.t. | 3 | Sean De Bie | Véranda's Willems - Crelan | s.t. | 4 | Adam Blythe | Aqua Blue Sport | s.t. | 5 | Dylan Van Baarle | Team Sky | s.t. |
Spoiler
Summary: Another extremely close dash to the line.
Result: 12th - I don't have the top speed to match the stage hunters.
1 | Sean De Bie | Véranda's Willems - Crelan | 5h10'07 | 2 | Christopher Lawless | Team Sky | s.t. | 3 | Adam Blythe | Aqua Blue Sport | s.t. | 4 | Jonas Koch | CCC Sprandi Polkowice | s.t. | 5 | Matteo Malucelli | Androni Giocattoli - Sidermec | s.t. |
Spoiler
Summary: False attacks and real attacks can't faze the Sky boys. They handle everything thrown at them in the last 15kms to force another bunch sprint. How boring.
Result: 7th - I do everything in my power to try and overthrow Team Sky. Nothing worked. At least I recovered enough on the downhill to the finish to sprint for a Top 10. I'm tied in a 16-way battle for 10th in GC, 35 seconds back of Dylan Van Baarle in yellow. It's going to take the final TT to sort everyone out.
1 | Tim Merlier | Véranda's Willems - Crelan | 5h34'19 | 2 | Jon Aberasturi | Euskadi Basque Country | s.t. | 3 | Nelson Andres Soto | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | s.t. | 4 | Christopher Lawless | Team Sky | s.t. | 5 | Jonas Koch | CCC Sprandi Polkowice | s.t. |
Spoiler
Summary: A Sunday stroll through London.
Result: 54th - Not a great day. I come in 58 seconds behind the winner Pavel Sivakov from Team Sky. I slot into 20th for GC, +1'24". I also finished fourth in the KoM competition with 20 minutes. Eighth best young rider. Most importantly, I finished the tour!
1 | Pavel Sivakov | Team Sky | 9'55 | 2 | Kamil Gradek | CCC Sprandi Polkowice | + 6 | 3 | Dylan Van Baarle | Team Sky | + 9 | 4 | Jonathan Dibben | Team Sky | + 18 | 5 | Mark Christian | Aqua Blue Sport | + 24 |

Race Day #30 at Int. Raiffeisen Grand Prix My wrist feels fine and the season is rapidly coming to a close.
Spoiler
Summary: Up the final circuit and JLT Condor captain Ian Bibby has Marcus Diamond controlling the pace to reel in some late attackers.
Diamond makes the catch and keeps on going. Bibby gets stuck in traffic.
Diamond is leading the remaining field to the finish.
The finish line is in sight. Diamond isn't giving up the lead!
Result: 7th - That's one of the worst feelings in the world.
1 | Rasmus Guldhammer | Team Virtu Cycling | 4h46'38 | 2 | Matej Mugerli | My Bike Stevens | s.t. | 3 | Ian Bibby | JLT Condor | s.t. | 4 | Benjamin Prades | Team UKYO | s.t. | 5 | Dylan Sunderland | Bennelong SwissWellness | s.t. |
Race Day #31 at Gooikse Pijl First cobbled race. My wrist is 100% again, otherwise I wouldn't do this.
Spoiler
Summary: A selective group survives the day.
Result: 46th - Chalk this one up to inexperience. I got caught on the wrong side of a split and suffered. I know I'm better than this.
1 | Christophe Noppe | Sport Vlaanderen - Baloise | 5h00'30 | 2 | Zico Waeytens | Véranda's Willems - Crelan | s.t. | 3 | Frederik Backaert | Wanty - Groupe Gobert | s.t. | 4 | Alex Kirsch | WB Aqua Protect Veranclassic | s.t. | 5 | Andrea Pasqualon | Wanty - Groupe Gobert | + 52 |
