PCMdaily DB Stat Discussion - PCM15

Tafiolmo basically you basically agree my opinion..Upgrade in MO for Scarponi and Ulissi. About Nizzolo i think he's much better in SPR rather than ACC thar's why i also proposed -1 in ACC.
This is how someone should discuss, not "you're italian, he's your favourite rider (he thinks), bla bla bla".

The thing is that Viviani, Modolo and Nizzolo are all about the same level and it's not a good idea to drop Nizzolo's acc as a same or higher acc as a riders sprint is pretty essential if he's a natural sprinter, otherwise you'll end up with classics men who can sprint that can have an acc lower than their sprint for example Boonen, of course there are exception to this rule like Kristoff for example.

Viviani is the highest rated as he does get results against the bigger sprinters, Modolo you feel is always likely to take a stage at the Giro (even though he didn't this year) but two last year and Nizzolo is probably third in order but is extremely consistent which is essential to win a points jersey in a GT. The May stats should highlight these differences when they come out.

We're going to apply a few rules here, because obviously some members can't control themselves.

1. If you comment on someone's post, comment on the contents of the post, not on the person!
2. Don't make fun of suggestions of other members. Everyone can post their suggestions. It's up to our statmakers to decide what to do with them.
3. Keep your posts strictly on-topic.

Any posts that violate these rules will be deleted immediately.

Inactive due to personal reasons.

Dont you think that Sergei Tvetcov needs a decrease on the mountain stat?
Also i think that 7potential for Sam Bennett is too high and in next update add Carmelo Foti to the Leopard Trek

Did someone plan to upgrade Giulio Ciccone and Filippo Ganna?

For FDj i think Courteille need a down in MON 71 > 68 and Hill 72>69
Morabito a up in secondary RES 67>70 and REC 69>72
PINEAU Cédric a up in flat 68>72 ; END 67>70 and RES 66>68

For AG2R dont forget to up Hubert Dupont in secondary stat i think and 75MO Wink

And for Cofidis a down general for BOZIC Borut

Thanks for your job Smile

In my opinion Ulissi deserves 76 in mountain and 79/80 in hills

@Geslin, I see that you're a new member and those are some good suggestions there for these mostly FDJ riders, unfortunately they've probably missed the May update as the stats have been sent but they will definitely make the next game update, albeit with some small differences to your suggestions.

@Emre Be patient as the May update will be coming shortly.

(21)ULISSI Diego Lampre - Merida 56m59s

Ulissi is nowhere close to be a good climber, he can follow and do attacks in some hilly stages. He's not even a contender/favorite for the ardennes, so a hilly stat of 78 suits him well to win some stages. And give more than 74/75 in the mountain is a bit too much for a guy who regularly gets dropped as soon as the elevation in the big moutains starts.

May Stats: Giro d’Italia Update

As the title suggests May as always is dominated by the first big GT of the Year and for many including me the most interesting as well. The 2016 Giro really should’ve been about a Dutch rider winning his first ever GT and also the first ever Dutch victory in that race, I actually remember a certain Eric Breukink years back once finishing on the podium, which all would’ve been fitting as this year’s edition started with three days in the Netherlands. Climber Kruijswijk looked like doing what Dumoulin couldn’t manage to do in last year’s Vuelta and that was to take the Giro. He was the best climber in the race and his increase in both mtn 80 and res 73 are worthy of a GT winner outside of the Tour but fate had other things in store for him. Chaves was closely tied to him and also took a mtn boost to 79 with his high acc being his secret weapon. Nibali amazingly despite winning took a one point decrease, largely because he looked weaker than in previous years and only won the Giro because of Kruijswijk’s fall, but he did get a boost in both res and rec which is now even more impressive. Zakarin showed what a terrible dh rider he really is and Kruiswijk for all his climbing wasn’t exactly a world better either, while Giro favourite Pozzovivo showed that he’s very much in decline and we sadly never got to see Landa truly mount his Giro challenge where in my eyes he would’ve been the rider to beat.

Other riders that exceeded expectations and saw good boosts in the Giro in terms of climbing were a powerful Jungels, a grinding Priedler and an overperforming Ulissi who who normally excels on hills in GT’s rather than mountains but exceeded all expectations. Star turn of the month at the Giro may well have been the veteran Scarponi who rolled back the years and gave Nibali an even more consistent quality of service than both Fuglsang and Kangert, and his work on the front showed him as the strongest domestique in the race when everything went uphill. While up and coming riders were headed up by the likes of Ciccone and Seb.Henao who continued to improve in climbing as well.

Lesser lights and domestiques that may not have stood out also saw mtn upgrades by about a point and included riders D.Lopez and Dupont who either took their chances because their leader was out of the race such as Landa or just not on form like Pozzovivo.’Also boosts to what I call lower slope domestiques or riders that specialize in other fields like Battaglin and Boaro were all impressive as well and there were many others too numerous to mention.

Roglic was the tt shocker and saw some big boosts in that stat discipline and in some ways was even surpassed by Foliforov in the tough mtn tt, expecially as it was a pure climbing tt and the said rider had shown no real form previously in the race, but he would show his worth again on the final mountain stage. In fact Gazprom as a team had their best moments in the race against the clock where they punched above expectations and changes have been made there as well.

Overall it was a typical Giro where the climbers dominated and the sprint trains of the sprinters got weaker and weaker as the race went on, as evidenced by the attack of Kluge which saw him get a flat and res boost in a stage that the sprinters should’ve taken and a sprinter like Arndt winning a dream stage for himself with some help from the referees.

This month’s stat revision was focused on the rec stat with the Giro fully in mind and overall we went with what could be deemed as conservative changes rather than radical ones, so there will be quite a number of 75 and 76 riders capable of making a Giro top 10 here, after all the Giro does have a weaker field compared to the Tour. So for those that still haven’t played the community Giro now is the chance to play it with updated race stats that are fresh off the press.

There were also modrate changes in races like the Tour of California where CT rider Neilsen Powless raised some eyebrows but not too much happened in the Tour of Belgium due to a terrible accident and minimal changes for that one.

Finally the rest of the PCMdaily Team has worked hard to update graphics, team jerseys, NC's jerseys and new stages and variants etc (see main release section for details) which is impressive as the team has already got its eyes on the upcoming PCM16.

Stats brought to you by the PCMdaily DB Stats Team of Tafiolmo, Croatia, Kodman and Matt who keeps an eye on everything.

Who are you talking about exactly? Nsengimana has got 65 with 67 hill having dominated Tour of Rwanda last year, top 10'd a stage at La Tropicale (which considering the teams is not a bad race at all) and won a mountain stage at Cameroon. On top of that he had a decent 2015 as well. For the other Africans in the team, the highest mountain stat is 62, so I don't see where the problem is, at worst it's not the African guys that are too high, but the African guy Smile

I don't even think 65/67 mo/hi is high either, I know perfectly Rwanda doesn't have the same pedigree of an European race, but you still need to credit riders coming from obscure nations for what they do. After all, more than 800 riders are still better than him with 65 mountain, and I honestly think that if he had the chance he'd do pretty well in Europe actually.

nice stats and nice database, my compliments Wink

I had a question about the stats of Valverde, is there a reason why his stats are kept more or less the same? or did I just overlook something
