The peloton seems to fail the attempt. Vandenbergh has gone solo, and Sky is busy in the group behind... Was 18 seconds some kilometres ago, now 40. And he was alone with Lodewyck in the break all day!
Edit: 50 now, but Cav & Co is up in the peloton again.
What the peloton is doing, the gap raised to 1.15 during several kilometres
Edit:They catched him now almost in a minute.
Edit2: Now Sagan,Casar and Chavanel attacked!
Greipel takes it! Sagan with Chavanel and Casar attacked, but the peloton caught them again. Sagan second,Gallopin third. Bouhanni is again up there with a fourth place. Sutton fifth.

Oh, so Porte suddenly remembered he can clib after sucking the whole 2011. AC will be happy to hear this.
And he's got this in the bag barring a really weak TT, so I guess Sky didn't manage this too badly.
I don't think he sucked, he rode two GT's and helped as much as he could to Contador, and definitely that experience riding as support to him in two GT's made him stronger physically and mentally. Should have a good year ahead of him.
Sky was brilliant today. EBH ( massive effort at the start of the climb to shell out the peleton ), Froome, Wiggins ( who actually was out of the saddle for some time ) setting it up for Porte. Great win and should keep GC lead comfortably barring any accidents.
"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
Not only refinding his climbing legs, but climbing better than ever. Because seriously, Porte never climbed this well. Best he could do was hang on for dear life for some 10-20th place in the Giro breakthrough and just able to hang on for top 10 in Clasica San Sebastian in 2010.
He never ever climbed like this.
But we should also remember it was a 3km hill. Not a mountain. And it's february. I'll reserve judgements on Porte climbing after some serious races
Am I the only one who is utterly pissed off every time Carlton Kirby commentates a race? I'm watching the third stage of the ALgarve now and he has spent more than 2/3 of the time talking about Sky as if they were the second coming of Christ. I mean, sure, they have a good team here with a coupl eof people who could take out the overall, but for fuck's sake, there are other teams here too who have immensely good riders. Learn sopmething about them and stop with your bullshit nationalism.
