@baseballlover- Stage 4 is supposed to be a sprint stage, but you never know Wink I've never seen a normal (like in the tdf on flat stages) sprint in the Tour of Utah Shock

Bookie wrote:
Apparently, wind was quite strong earlier in the day, making life difficult for the first teams to go out (including QS).

It was a little more windy at the start, but I don't think that made much of a difference (mabye 10 or 20 seconds). The real reason why OPQS did so bad (in my opinion) is because they started with only 6 riders. All the other teams had 8. Wink

Stage 3 is underway: https://tourtracker.tourofutah.com/

Stentina is looking really good on the first climb, the Peleton is spliting already!

Mr_Monk
Vandevelde doesn't look as good as I expected him to. Lucas Euser looks good, winning the first KoM.

I'm leaving for the finish Grin

You mean sharp as barracuda teeth?

Awesome riding by 19-year old Olivier. He lives a couple of miles from my place. Smile

Yet another strong result from him. Very promising talent.

Navarro seems to have got his power back now that his pal Alberto is back in business. Pfft

Don't they have a single decent stationary camera in the finish area? Helicopter views are awesome to see trains forming, but I'd like to see at least the jersey colours in the sprint. Rolling Eyes

Oh, Matthews won after being in the break and struggling over the climb.
Tells more about the sprinter quality in this race though rather than his power Pfft

Rumours are

2. Schär
3. Bookwalter
4. Sutherland

+1 They showed a good camera in the replay but I thought Matthews was Sutherland in the overhead. Horrible camera.

Maybe sprint tomorrow, but I really hate this route.

Rabobank have really been turning things up lately. Some nice victories for the team. Not huge, but all victories are good for the team.

Tour of Utah: Stage 3

1. Michael Matthews Rabobank
2. Michael Schar BMC s.t.
3. Brent Brookwalter BMC s.t.

GC
Same as before

So they showed a bad camera angle again? Pfft
I was 5 or 10 meters before the finish on the side that Matthews won on so it was really cool to see him pass the 2 BMC guys just a couple feet in front of me Grin

The first stages aren't great, but the last two will be epic, take my word for it Wink

btw, Tyler Farrar came in dead last, all by himself. He lost 20 minutes to the peleton (time cut was 24 minutes) and he was 10 minutes behind the last grupetto.

Heli view for the whole last 3k or so. Couldn't distinguish Matthews and Sutherland, and hardly anything else Grin

Sounds like a nice ride from Matthews today then Wink

Talansky wins the 4th stage and takes the leader's jersey in the Tour de l'Ain. Majka came second, and Pardilla third.

Wilier
Another top 10 from Daan Olivier. And he extended his lead in the young rider classification. Smile
