Now we just need Bennati to win.

IMO big disappointment from Matthews, Appollonio and Davis.
2 Rabo riders were leading the pack with 1 km to go, but they left Matthew too far behind instead of trying to lead him out.
no, matthews was in 3rd wheel but then suddenly decided to take someone else's wheel (probably afraid to lead out too early)... and ruined it for himself

Already few names out of GC contention due to early reports. There might have been a crash so everybody will have same time but dunno yet. Daniel Martin, Danielson, Gerrans, Mollema, Alabsini and Casar lost 1'28". Brajkovic 2'45 and Kloden 5'07". Kloden disappointing early on so far.

No, they got same time. Crash with 2k to go.
Janez Brajkovic on twitter "First time this year a bit better legs, but crashed hard 2km to go. Knee is painful, other than that, just bruises. Should be ok for Stg2"

Klöden on the other side indeed lost that time. Not in the form of last year.

Maybe he's aiming at the Tour Andy-style this year?
He was really strong last season, so I think he could have a shot at the podium, especially with such a lot of time trial kilometers.

That doesn't sound very likely since now they are both in the same team.
He's getting old I guess. Don't forget that he is almost 37.

Hesjedal for GC.
It had to be said. We'll see how things go.

Well, then I'd guess the same as you said. You have to start decreasing sooner or later after all. Unless your name is Chris Horner of course.

Plus he was ill 2 times in the last weeks. No chance to build up his form this way.

Nah, he already got his contract. No need to sweat now, wait for him next year.

Horner just had a weird growth track where you decline first, and then improve.
