Just 30 minutes left to sign-up.
But I don't expect any more. So we'll have that 60 man peloton.
33 of those 60 are linked to a new or an active member. A nice little statistic.
Though going into the sign-ups I had one hope: to find 2 or 3 new members that'll really contribute to the game to add to the usual suspects.
I have more than a good feeling we've succeeded.
Thanks to everyone for signing up. I hope to reward your enthusiasm with the best possible reports I can produce and I hope - most of all - that you enjoy the game. I will, that's for sure.
Ready for Season 2

The sign-ups are now closed. We'll resume this game into season 2 with 60 riders.
Transfer season is also nearing an end, as I think most riders are quite happy where they are.
Here is the provisional team list. Only Accostella is teamless at the moment. If he hasn't responded to my pm or here by Friday noon, I'll put him in a team myself. (Probably Team Mapei, given his Italian roots and Mazzarelli's need for another helper in some races)
Any last changes - let me know by Friday around noon at the latest!

Okay, everybody's got a team.
That was a surprisingly easy "transfer period". I shouldn't expect the same in my first ManGame transfer season, right?
Lots of stuff to do, today, so you can expect the final season preview tomorrow!

After some more nice posts (nice to see the new members already active before the season has actually started!), here's the final season preview!
It's also meant as an introduction to the current peloton for the new riders. If you read up on the teams and especially some of the pieces of analysis on some of the riders, you'll need all you need to know, I reckon
@jandal: if there are too few votes, either "rig" the awards yourself or drop them, probably

Very nice season preview, great to read and refresh the memory on the teams and riders. Mikel is ready to go in the cold and cobbles with Odjfell who i hope work just as well as a team as they did last season. Goldenberg and Markson are bursting for their first pro season, the challenge is big but they are prepared. Power flying below the radar again still learning the ropes and with less sand heavy races it could be a year of team-mate duties.
Let's just get going already!

Thanks guys!
And you responded with equally amazing posts
Also very excited to get the season started, with Duinencross preview tomorrow.
Just one minor thing, Shonak. Vague refers to 2 Czech newcomers. One is, in fact, from Slovakia though maybe you knew that and that's just Vague who's not 100% up to date yet!

Great preview, I'm going to try to write a post today, I might get a chance to use another computer where I can. So I might get one in. I can't wait for the start of the season though. ;D

Season start is really close now, with the Duinencross preview!
I've thought about those previews a bit. In the pieces on 'Race History' and 'Route Information', I won't always write an entire new text. But I'll always tweak some things and add/scratch items where necessary. Though I think it's useless to rewrite the entire piece completely. Hope you all agree.
I also include last year's winner (where possible), with a link tracing back to last season's report!
Don't forget, this season you can use preset tactics (see spoiler).
Send in tactics if you want. Hope to have the race by Monday or Tuesday!
Spoiler
Preset Tactics
Follow closely: Make someone nervous by staying on his wheel as closely as you can. Enter name here.
Follow when attack: Enter name(s) here. Who do you always follow?
Passive/Aggressive riding: Enter number from 1 - 10. 1 being extremely passive, 10 being extremely aggressive.
Start: Fast or Patient.
Allies/Team mates: Will you ride behind team mates? Are there other riders you don't want to ride against, rather work with?
Other: Anything else? Attack at a specific time? Make a special move? Work for the team leader?

Sounds like a good idea to copy over as much of last year's preview as possible - particularly as it will save you time.

I thought so, too
Also, we're playing with a secret database, so feel free to ask me at any time about your rider. I won't give out stats, but some riders have developed quite a bit since the sign-ups for season 1, so you can ask about the strenghts/weaknesses of your rider. Or let me know if you want your rider to do specific training or develop in a certain area

I've been trying to give an idea of that via my ride updates for Max and Mikel, hope that's ok. Can be sent if it makes it easier for you

I've gotten the question and I had also been thinking about it earlier.
The start position is decided on UCI Ranking. Though this first race would have too much of an impact. So the starting position will be static (based on their UCI number) for the first three races of the season.
From the Hobart Sunny Classic, the starting position will be determined by their UCI Ranking at the moment, and no longer on their UCI number.

Sounds not much like a question but yeah do the uci rankings reset to zero at the beginning of the year then?
But yeah would be good for start of the year to have start positions based on uci number.
