Also, some areas on the map are wildly unused, if I see it like that. Internationality is definitely part of the new CX, but Europe remains boss, looking at that map. Smile

It's almost as if Europe is the home and most popular area of CX Rolling EyesPfft I like the balance of places the way it is. The focus should be on Europe with some more Global events filling gaps. Then again i did make some events in Mexico, Canada, India, Kazakhstan and probably a couple more places Wink

Interesting calendar, I have no problem with the Europe focus, it seems realistic, while the global events add interest (well, more interest) to the calendar. Still I can't make out to much from the map, TMM has added about a thousand new races, of my suggested ones, I can see that a few are still in, apparently Luxembourg has been added and I think Cologne might be one of the German ones, but it could be something else. Smile

Can't wait for Arenberg cross now. Grin

Sorry guys but I don't really have the time to continue next season if you didn't know already. Apologies.

Sad to know, but I think that you should at least write a role playing post saying that your guys retire or otherwise make them available to other players.

@Cycleman: That's too bad to hear. Thanks for playing and good luck in whatever you do!

@Matt: that's not especially neccesary. I'd rather other/new players take their own riders. Inactive riders will eventually turn into peloton filler, retire, crash out or achieve special status, such as Faizullah, Gormley and whatnot. Smile

Ian Butler
Hope to do the Arenberg cross either this evening or tomorrow. Still, It'd be nice to have another role-playing post or two first Wink

I also want to remind everyone to send in their nominations for the awards of Jandal's thecxreport.com site!

Find the categories here and send in nominations by pm to jandal7!

Anyway really looking forward to Arenberg Ian!

And it's a shame to hear Cycleman but it wasn't unexpected.

Someone can take over my riders if they want

*Cue screaming for Bollinger*

Anyway as my previous d'Huez proposal was rejected for climbing, I'm gonna keep coming back for more.

La Croix de L'Alpe
Spoiler
Technical: 5
Cobbles: 0
Sand: 0
Uphill: You call it, there's a fair bit but in the grand scheme of things, and the length of the lap, I'd give it a 3
Length of lap: 5/6
Final straight: 30m

Other Information: A gravelly, Rocky route near the bottom slopes, we start with a short climb which could be an excellent jumping point for the stronger opportunists, before a tricky descent, and a series of grass u-turns, some jumping bars and rolling gravel paths before a rocky descent and a longer climb where the stronger, in-the-saddle type riders can pump out some watts. Then a sharp series of turns and another rolling section, some dirt paths with plenty of tree stumps and potential to get wet mud. We turn out and begin another longer climb where the pure climbers can make a last dash, the trickiest descent yet, a tight corner great for those with an punchy acceleration to get away, before a real killer of a short, sharp climb and the descent to the finish. Overall the technicality is much more deciding than the climbing, so a real tough course only to be won by the best

No claiming other players' riders. I will keep some in the game, others not. But new players or current players cannot claim these.

Also, cheers for the Alpe d'Huez propositions, but it won't be necessary. it's already done.
In fact, the entire calendar for the next season is done, including WC route, Continental Championships routes and whatnot. Details will be announced later. Of course, with the sign-up for the next season, some things might still change. For example, the Geraardsbergen location is now not in use. That might still change.

However, I don't want to cramp the calendar too much. Right now I have 37 races + the Continental & World Championships, compared to 35 (+ Champs) this season.

Race report for Arenberg probably tonight. Send in tactics if you haven't already, before 18h GMT +1 time! Wink

Ian Butler
Arenberg Classic, enjoy the race!
I will do the Dunkirk preview later tonight. Because I'd love to do Dunkirk tomorrow evening so I can finish the season this weekend! So we have the feeling of an actual final weekend with a race on Saturday and Sunday Wink

This is my way of saying sorry for the short "report" from Sochi. Hope you like this report better Wink

Well apology declined. You better give me a real apology in the Ardennes. Either that or sleep with one eye open.

Spoiler
Pfft (but I still want that apology you promised)

It wasn't Ardennes, but meh. Apology accepted. BananaBananaBananaBanana (and so on)

Anyway I really hope Guido Visconti is all right.

Raphael Visconti is all right. His son, Guido, racing in the CX league in this game, might not be Pfft

Sign-Ups Closing In

Also a bit of news. If I can finish the season tomorrow evening, I will probably open sign-ups Monday afternoon or at the latest by Wednesday. I hope to keep sign-ups open for one week to two weeks, to give everyone enough time to join the game. During the sign-ups, I will finish off the non-racing season, do the football match(!) and set up the new season by revealing the calendar, the races and with a 2015 - 2016 Season Preview.

Nice to get a top 10 in a non-particularly suitable race for Matt! Great report Ian once again Wink

Also great to win a sprint! Banana

Got a few things left to do. If I'm not too tired after, expect the end of the season later tonight!

Ian Butler
Thank you all so much. I'm proud to present the final race of the seaon!
When I started this game, I never could've hoped for it to go so well, and that's mainly thanks to you! So thanks.

What's next? I will open sign-ups for season 2 tomorrow.
After that, I will end the season with another The Scope Edition, taking a look at the final standings, palmares etc.
Then there is the football match, with a (detailed?) report, of course!

You can do a review of the season, too, of course. How did your rider do?

After finishing the season, we'll slowly build up to season 2: I will release the calendar, we will have transfers, the new players will make their first posts with the new riders in the game.

So some great weeks ahead Grin

There are also still places left for the football match. So feel free to enter your rider Wink
