What the fuck Gonna red the whole report in a sec, I'm having dinner and I just looked at the result and I'm not sure if I'm blind or it is the truth
why look at the result before you read the report, you spoil yourself all the fun reading

Just finished to read the report... Damn I wish I didn't spoil the result by myself
What a fantastic end that you decided for the Superprestige, Ian, wasn't expecting it at all considering that the profile didn't suit Matt as much as, for example the World Championships lol.
I really loved the report, probably one of the best to this date, and I'm not saying this because of the outcome but because of the -as ever- incredible detail you put into it. 3x Kudos there mate!
Hope Matt keeps up with this shape, btw. If we consider the weather conditions, the way he won it and the shape of the other opponents, then well I may hope for another "decent" result from his side, why not?
A blog post is gonna come tomorrow, as I said, might be a much less bitter one than usual, now I feel like he's got what he deserved since the start of the season, working hard and being constantly among the best riders! And hopefully keeping the margin on Carlisle for the 4th place in the UCI Ranking muahahah.
@Shonak, sadly it was a bit of very bad timing, it's really one of the first times it happens for me and probably it couldn't have happened in a worse moment..

Exciting race, I really didn't have high hopes for Sylvain, he would have been so tired after the worlds. 2nd in SuperPrestige is good (although next year he will win ) and he is the world champion So I'm pretty happy.

Another brilliant report and pleased for Cook that he got that prize, another very good rivalry race with a well deserved winner I think. Cook may not agree we shall see

Glad you liked it! It was fun to write
Love how Cook is evolving, by the way. Still quite ignorant (Wallonie... Kwaremont is so Flanders ) but he's growing into cyclo-cross and even starting to show respect for the things surrounding the sport
@All: Good news, internet works perfect here. So now it'll depend greatly on the weather and the company. But I'll definitely do the next race preview. I don't have the race program with me, but seeing the next race is a classic, I can even do the report if I have the time (and then run the race through the program to adjust UCI points etc when I get home)!

I like to think I've done a fairly good job so far running this game. It takes a lot of time for me, but it's worth it. I like to thank all active players once again, you've made this into a true fantasy world come to live!
But now, I need your help. It's hard for me to keep up the long reports. I'm in a bit of a rut. I did this experimental report of [urlhttps://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=37481&pid=1048201#post_1048201]Sochi[/url], maybe to do a few races like this next season*? Anyway, so back to my "rut". I ask for your input now: I have a few solutions lined up, let me know what you think is best.
- I finish the season with shorter reports and (as Sochi) summaries and then take a small break between season 1 and season 2.
- I take a break now and finish the season later, but with the reports you deserve.
- I drop the pace and try to finish the season with the full reports, but at a much slower pace (maybe 1 report a week, one and a half. Hard to predict).
Note that this is not because of my new project (story), rather it's the reversal. I'm in a bit of a rut and therefor I'm happy to do something else for a change, too. Don't worry about that: CX is still my little child on this site and I definitely want to keep it running.
* To be honest, I'm not a fan of it. But I wanted to show you anyway. I'd rather to smaller reports next season for some races, instead of these "summaries".

I'd say (just presuming the times) how I would do it (so just my two cents):
Now (0-1 week): Take a few days to kickstart Flamme Rouge
2-? weeks: Do normal reports for bigger races, but for boring races make them smaller, we can explore what might have happened (unless you get out of your rut)
0-2 weeks: take a break (for all focus on Flamme Rouge or just generally), whilst we can do off-season things like reflections and such.
Next day: Retirements and such
0-2 weeks: Sign-Ups for S2
0-1 week: transfers/new race calendar/the thing I just missed
S2: For most races give us the long reports, but for the lesser races (unless they had action) maybe somewhere in-between Sochi/Continentals and normal. And New York-level races action-wise. Of course this also depends on motivation, it's so far into the future...
Feel free to adjust times to your liking and remember this is just my hastily concocted opinion
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I prefer short reports to wrap up the season. This would allow it to give a lot of time for new recruitments as well as a nice long "real" period of CX off-season, where we can either write about our riders or just let them soak in the sun.
What would be nice though, a special report in old-style for Arenberg Classic which would be quite smthg special I think.
This game has been running great, with such detail and with that speed. It's impressive how long you kept it up. Personally, I jus think it's better to "refill the tank" in the off-season than pause the game for an undefinite time.

Don't really like the summafies either: I mean if the point of this is being a "role game" then it requires role playing, and we need to base our role play on something. Sadly, short summaries of the races aren't enough to keep the quality of both the game and the role playing high from our side, so I'm not keen on that, even if it is for few races. Unless you do it for very few (about 2 per year) of them, then it could be arguable. For the rest of the seadon, take your time, if you lack motivation or anything else, but I couldn't accept a short report of the Ardennes as in option #1

Cheers for all tips, guys. Got something useful out of all of them. Yes, these summaries, I'm not a fan of them, too. Role-playing needs a basis, so I won't do those again.
Next season, I'll work with slightly shorter reports, though. Boring races will have shorter reports and exciting races automatically longer reports.
I'll finish the season on a medium pace with shorter reports. Though Ardennes Cross and Argenberg Cross will get the necessary focus and length of detail, they may come a bit slower but it'll be worth it.
I'll refill the tank in the off-season. But, to be honest, I don't think I need that much time. A 2-week break seems more than enough. any longer and I'll start to get bored
For next season, I hope to improve this game even further. Yet I'll work with shorter reports on some races and probably have a slightly slower pace than the one I've had before. But I guess the amount of motivation will guide me through next season better than I can plan. As always with me, sometimes it'll go super fast, other times a bit slower.
Hope to do the next preview tomorrow!

It is always the thing that SN points out on MG when some say hey let's report short for lesser races. Here tge race may not be the Worlds but for Elliot to take that was an important one for me. I feel a bit bummed about such a thing.
I guess if all know a report would be shorter beforehand then no need to build excitement.
pleased to have taken another win and further solidify how UCI standing.

Read the Trondheim preview here!
Hope to make up for my lousy summary-report from last time in the Trondheim race in a few days!

Maybe a little biased, but I really like the Trondhheim course. Looking forward to the race, even if it isn't a good course for Sylvain.

Okay finding some more motivation again.
Next report probably tomorrow evening. I'm motivated to end the season on a high, now. But I surely hope you will all help with that, in posting some great reactions
Until tomorrow! (ps too late to send in tactics now)

This is my way of saying sorry for the short "report" from Sochi. Hope you like this report better
This will definitely cause some reactions, too!
Up next, Ardennes Cross!
PS. Note that the World Cup and UCI Classification are slightly off because I had run the race with a rider in contention who shouldn't have started. I have eliminated the rider from the race, but the classification will be updated next time I run the program again (can't do it now).
So don't worry, it'll be fixed, but for now there are a few points wrong, not a big impact, though!
