Well, I've made up my mind and I will order my new laptop today Smile

Here it is compared to my old one:
- Prosessor: Dual Core 1.73GHz vs. Intel Core i7 1.9GHz + 3.1GHz Turbo
- RAM: 3GB vs. 8GB
- Harddrive: 250GB vs. 1000GB Hybrid
- Graphic Card: ATI Radeon 2400HD vs. NVIDIA Geforce GT 740M + 2048MB dedicated memory
- OS: Vista - W8

Finally I can do PCM and FM on high quality without feeling the need to murder someone!

Good like with Windows 8.

Not that I like Vista but...

I'll survive as long as the computer itself is better than my old (which it is). I've always dreamt of a PC that could do PCM on high graphics aswell as being quick overall.

Besides, what's wrong with W8? I've seen that weird interface with the tiles, but isn't it possible to have the "old" interface?

Kind of. There is no start button and certain features of desktop are gone. It's made for touch, not a desktop or laptop.

I just prefer W7, that's all.

Never ever choose Vista. Even if only 2nd option is W8, never install that shit.

Nothing really wrong with W8 , except that ugly design, and it's pretty hard to adapt that you don't have Start button, and with all of that windows (i think you know what i am talking about). It's more for tablets.

If i am on your place,i would definitely install W7, if that's possible somehow, but between these 2 , W8 is way,way better option.

Ofc you shouldn't get Vista! I would never advocate that. But I think that W7 is a better choice over W8.

W8 is good for tablets, but it doesn't work right for a PC.

Nothing.

I personally prefer the Start Screen to the Start Button, but if you don't, the forthcoming 8.1 update will give you it back.

Apart from that, Windows 8 is an improvement on Windows 7

Whatever you think. I know a lot of people with Windows 8, and they only speak poorly of it (I had the previewq version).

I just can't see how you prefer the start screen. When I used the preview, and what people I know have said, it's very unfunctional sometimes.

Well Vista had more market share than W8, so obviously not a lot of people agree with you.

If you press the Windows key, you have everything the Start Button does, just over the whole screen.

How is that "unfunctional"?

Prefer whatever you want.

But market shares don't lie. It still has less than Vista, despite 99% of all computers made in the last 10 months coming with it.

Doesn't that say more about computer sales rather than how good the OS is?

I'm scared of change Sad That's why I'm so nervous about buying this computer, I'm gonna be stuck with it for 6-7 years, after all!

Old-man-mode on.

People are more likely to buy a better operating system.

I've never understood whats so bad about Vista.

Sure its probably not as good as other OS's but I didn't think it was as bad as everyone made it out to be.

Vista and PCM is an ironically stable pairing, actually...

While my PC with Windows7 were getting repaired I borrowed my wifes PC with W8 and I'm thrilled to have gotten rid of that system.

It's like everything is hidden one step further away if you don't have touch-screen. probably great for tablets/touchscreen-PC's but worthless for a "classic" labtop

I just tried installing PCM 06 on Windows 8, forgetting Starforce existed.

One System Restore later, I regretted my decision...

I know that feel. I ended up buying a second copy for 5 euro at Gamersgate. Being DRM-free, it actually works on systems that aren't XP.

Yeah Windows 7 is my favorite also. Notice how it was $100+ to upgrade from XP/Vista to 7, but to upgrade from 7 to 8 it was $15
