By winning both games? I guess they weren't the cleanest of victories though.
Christie's silver being taken wasn't the right decision though I agree, and Woodsy was disappointing in his slopestyle final. We need another medal soon, and Arnold looks like she will get it tomorrow.
We're winning but not winning well. Medals are definitely within reach though. And Christie got hit first which made her fall, 50/50 really.

By comparing the ranking to the total medal count I found some funny facts:
- The Germans are very lucky
- The Russian are very unlucky
- Switzerland has many very good athletes compared to its size (but many of the are not from Swiss descent)

Even though basically every other country sorts by Gold Medal Count, here they sort by total medal count.

Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Still amazed and puzzled by that. Only because you always win then?
And "lucky" is pretty subjective. We just happen to dominate the luge since basically ever because we have the best training facilities and staff by far (at least I guess that's the reason), that's 4 of those 7 Gold medals.

Replace luge by speed skating and you have the story of the Dutch dominance there... best training + staff + best national competition. I think the level of the olympic qualification tourney in the netherlands was higher than some of the world cups

It's also annoying for the speed skating's credibility that the antidoping agency in the Netherlands barely do any blood testing on the Dutch speed skaters. They took zero blood tests from their speed skaters in 2012, meaning that they basically don't have a biological passport. I don't know how many, if any, blood tests they did in 2013.
I don't think any of them dope, you've been good at speed skating forever, but it's definitely not good for the sport that they're not tested properly. Having said that, I really enjoy watching them do speed skating, especially Kramer and his best 5000 and 10 000 meters. They're just amazing to watch, and I'm hoping for another show on Tuesday. And then I'm crossing fingers Bøkko can manage a medal behind Verweij on the 1500 meters

Correction: the Dutch anti-doping agency took 0 blood tests (no budget, they just started end 2013).
The WADA and ISU (international doping, plus international speed skating) take regular blood-tests..
Having said that. I don't trust any skater to be clean. Dutch or Norwegian or French or Korean...

As for Kramer. Well his 1 season out due to the so called leg injury... that's just too fishy for me. But hey.. nobody seems to care about it

What about Sablikova, she has to be clean.
Anyway i agree with Lachi, that Switzerland has great count on a citizen (but those are former russians and others in large percentage), but it has perfect conditions for winter sports. They have mountains everywhere!
If you wnat small country with not so great conditions, that can win several medal, look at Czech republic (or Poland, Belarus).

And I agree with Swiss. But on the other hand, most of it is because of their perfect conditions for preparation and I don't mean it only in winter sports because of their high standard of living and great facilities.
While in Czech...I don't think that we have lesser talents but our training conditions aren't comparable with those in Switzerland.
I wouldn't be surprised, if they'll manage to overpass us even in ice hockey. Even though it looks like that our youth training system is strating to turn it out in good way (Zacha, Pastrňák, Faksa)...

USA back where they belong in the top 3 of the overall medal count, I think they might be #2 at the moment
