EPIC - Season 2 Part 1
Shonak
Wait what, Nerz does something. Wow. I, mean, wow. What if...? NO I shouldn't get ahead of myself. I just... just maybe not all is lost just yet.

Solid sprinting by Calzone, that could have been the podium if it wasn't for GC riders.

Not a bad stage GC wise, all of them were there, but we should've done better on this finish.

But erm, where did Nordhaug go? He finished last stage but disappeared here.

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Can't really say exactly, but iirc I think I saw an event note with Nordhaug having crashed, so I think that he disbanded from the race :/

God, what a moron. I thought it showed up as DNF in the export, but that might be my imagination Pfft

What the fuck? Kwiatek loses time on Cav in a hilly stage. The game hates me...

Ollfardh: 100% your imagination. Only shows up if the reporter adds it Wink

Weird stage with a very anticlimatic finish. Any idea what happened to Gorka. He should not have had trouble aginst those breakers...

We attacked. Banana

We still somehow managed to not get a podium. Sad

The game doesn't award time gaps unless there's a small town in between the riders. Rolling Eyes

Thor Hushovd isn't finished yet.

A bit more clarity on the split would have been nice. Thought the "last riders" would have been more like the actual last riders and not most of the race. Took me a second read to notice when it occured as well, but anyway...

Race is turning into a write off for FDJ. Without a GC chance left there's very few points available now and we can't seem to match the sprinters with Bouhanni. Next!

It was weird cause there came an event note, it said Bakelants were dropped, but when I looked he were in the middle of the pack on the final climb, seemed to be an bug on the stage :/

Luckily no time gaps for the first guys. Peter should be paying more attention next time. Good to see most of my riders in the first group. Smile

Stromeon
Well a major f*** up from Moreno there... has much ground to make up over the next few stages.

WTF? Kristoff and Kreuziger loosing a lot of time and Cavendish in the first group?!

sgdanny please next time add to your report how/when the split happened as there seem to be a lot of good riders in the second group.

Cheers for making the table on page 1 by the way sgdanny, it's so unbelieveable useful!

Tirreno Adriatico 2014 – Stage 1
Donoratico – San Vincenzo (TTT)

Welcome to the 49th Tirreno – Adriatico which starts in Donoratico with a Team Time Trial. Despite the clash with other WT event Paris - Nice, this race always manages to draw some big names to here aswell. We are especially looking forward to see some big names in this race. Froome, Quintana, Nibali, Van Garderen, Contador, Porte, Kangert, Talansky ,La Bestia, Caruso, Meyer, Spilak, Kelderman, Van den Broeck, Costa are probably going to make up the top 10 of the GC. Some teams will probably regret sending their lead riders to this race instead of Paris – Nice. The sprinters present aren’t as big names in status and name. Abundi, Hanzen, Nizzolo, Viviani, Guido, Boasson Hagen and Guardini are the biggest names present.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0112_zpsrd6aop2k.jpg

The first stage is, as mentioned before, a team time trial and the favorites are Sky, Giant and Movistar, although we can’t underestimate Belkin, Garmin, Tinkoff-Saxo, Katusha, Quick-Step, BMC and Orica for an win either. TTT are always hard to predict so we’ll just have to wait and see.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0099_zpsuxrgo70j.jpg

Favorites Movistar are the first to stage today. National champions Amador and Costa are pulling the team today to give Quintana are good as possible position. The set the mark at 21’43”.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0100_zpshlu8w3vh.jpg

BMC are next and they too have two national champions in the team this race. Van Garderen and Cataldo are they riders in alternating jerseys, Phinney in a regulair BMC jersey will also be of great help in this TTT. They beat Movistar by 6 seconds. 21’36”.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0101_zpsrrrfmvua.jpg

Katusha also start early today and they are also not short of national jerseys. Chernetskiy and Spilak were their respective national flags. With the whole team being able to perform on the TT, we should keep an eye on them. They come close to BMC’s time but they miss by 1 second. 21’37”

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0102_zpsu66e0opv.jpg

A Team Time Trial and not mentioning Quick-Step is close to a federal offence and they are looking to redeem themselves after the 15th place in the Vuelta’s TTT of last year, which ironically was organized by the same organizers as this race. they set a new best time with 21’34”.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0103_zpsymotps4k.jpg

Garmin start the second group and they too have the obligatory national champion on board. Bradley Wiggins is wearing the British national jersey. Although he still believes to be a GC contender he’ll has competition in his own team by youngsters Yates and Talansky. They set a time of 21’41”. good for 4th place currently

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0104_zpseweoavc8.jpg

Belkin has brought a strong team with Gesink and Kelderman for the climbs, Malori Clement and Boom for the time trials and Bos for the sprints. Potentially able to bring the most points from the race if everything goes well but we all know that everything going well is nearly impossible. They finish in 21’39”, taking the place from Garmin.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0105_zps4h9zmgtq.jpg

Tinkoff-Saxo is here with Contador and Langov, the duo that performed well in the Tour of Oman climbs. Although Langov is likely to assist Contador more than in Oman, he should not be crossed out soon. With a time of 21’43”, tying for 6th place but being given the advantage over Movistar.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0106_zpspnyo5xgg.jpg

Orica – GreenEDGE is hoping on Cameron Meyer, Michal Matthews and Cadel Evans to bring in the points, this race. expecting anything from the others is rather foolish. They also brought no national champions to this race, which is a shame. They seem to be off the pace already with 21’49”. 8th place.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0107_zpsq93fc8s7.jpg

The 2013 champions Team Sky have come with a team that many other WT teams are jealous off, with Froome they have probably the best stage racer and with Boasson Hagen a competent sprinter to boot. With the whole team having time trail capabilities, anything less than a win today is a disappointment. They fail however by only finishing in a time off 21’40” only 5th place.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0108_zpszzxc68ib.jpg

The name switch from Argos Shimano to Giant Shimano was more symbolical then many people assume. Where Argos was famous for being a sprinters team, Giant barely has any sprinters left. Kittel went to Belkin, Degenkolb went to Astana and Mezgec went to Vacansoleil. Giant is now a climbers team by signing Kangert, Hesjedal, Poels and Yates. They take 5th place with a time of 21’40”.

i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag121/SSJ2Luigi/EPIC/PCM0109_zps5ixmldgl.jpg

That means that Omega Pharma Quick-Step takes the first stage of Tirreno – Adriatico and after taking the Vuelta leaders jersey thanks to winning the TTT, Rohan Dennis will take the leaders jersey of the Tirreno as well.

Yeah I was going to do it for myself, but then luckily I decided to share it with everyone Wink
If I continue this, it will be easier for reporters to see who won each stage and the GC easier next year etc. Smile

@Bikex : Yeah I certainly will, but the problem was that it said that Bakelants was losing time, but visually he was in the middle of the pack, but on the descent the pack got cut, but the curious thing was that those riders were practically standing still on the climb, because there wasn't much space...

Also I lost an screenshot with the split info, hence it's not in the report. I can say that this won't happen again and that it's still an interesting race for those, which lost their main GC man to this "bug" ^^

@Tirreno : Fantastic to have the team at 2nd place, since both Hanzen and Owniak is here, this is gonna be interesting if we can score points, whenever we hit a terrain which one of us can't handle ^^

Says the file is corrupt with me

Yes! Now our season started properly. I will have to recap alot when I'm back home. I feared this TTT, especially with Tony, Vermote and Kwiatek missing, because they are at P-N. But funny enough we are still strong enough. Lets hope the team focuses on Porte and not on La Bestia.
