@ivaneurope: Thank you, hope I can add some more latino talents to the bunch
@knockout: Well, I can truthfully say I hope the same thing
@redordead: Don't worry, they won't have to climb a single km If all goes right, I'll add some climbers to the squad soon.
@Fabianski: Reinhardt will also feel at home with you with his German speaking friends, here's to some nice fights between Marco and Theo!
@marcovdw: Yeah, not expecting anything of Bru, very probably a one season guy.
@cunego: Me too, go class of 2021!
@Olifardh: thanks bru

After our first six Latin American signings, we decided to throw some Europeans in the mix. We got a hold of our Belgian cobbler, welcomed another national champion and strengthened the team with an Italian time trialist.
| Jerome Baugnies | 4.100 | 33y/o | €400.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 77 | 56 | 71 | 61 | 79 | 72 | 71 | 79 | 64 | 72 | 73 | 64 | 61 |
We wanted a Belgian cobbler and we found one. In an ideal scenario he would not have cost us this much, but our love for cobbles is more important than battling for promotion (at least this season ) He will share an apartment in Oudenaarde with Jose Gerardo Ulloa, training with him on a daily basis and learning him how to master the cobbles like he does. After this season Jerome will decline, so maybe we can keep him next year with a smaller wage as well.
| Stefan Petrovski | 4.100 | 29y/o | €50.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 70 | 75 | 73 | 66 | 72 | 73 | 67 | 54 | 61 | 68 | 75 | 70 | 66 |
Having arrived yesterday evening from Swisslion Cycling Team, we still do not understand what he's constantly rambling about. Stefan probably thought he would be joining a Northern Macedonian team because of our red and yellow, which will also be the colors of his national champion jersey this year. Definitely some communication problems though, but no problem, as he's allowed to do his thing wherever he goes. He also gave Marco Guillén a six minute hug upon arrival, as the two riders have worked together before at Swisslion. Guillén explained that North Macedonia was the Costa Rica of the Balkans, and they understand each other without the need to talk.
| Luca Sterbini | 4.100 | 28y/o | €50.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 68 | 56 | 66 | 78 | 74 | 73 | 67 | 63 | 57 | 67 | 71 | 65 | 78 |
Luckily, Luca will have less communication problems, as every Italian I know seems to have perfected their Spanish after learning it for one day. We picked him up at the airport with tears in his eyes, as he left the team where it all began for him, Generali. We're happy to have a time trialist, and promise matt17br that we will take good care of him. We bought Luca for 200k. Originally this was 250k, but Generali manager matt17br dropped the price after we agreed to not fly with Air France and KLM this season.
That's it for today, thank you for reading and we hope to be back soon with some more transfer news

Baugnies is a massive signing for a CT team
Hopefully he dominates the cobbles for you
I think Petrovski will blend in your team quite nicely, just give him a few days

Baugnies is a massive commitment especially since he's much worse next year but he should have some exciting fights in CT!

Looks like a great situation for Sterbini to shine, so I'm stoked that you got him. Best of luck!

Baugnies hype in the house Going to feel weird seeing him ride against Strava, not sure I'm ready for that

Me neither! Let's see if Baugnies is ready for it, either.
Some great signings, gratz!

@redordead: The good news is that Petrovski is starting to speak his first words in Spanish now. The bad news is that those words are cerveza and pollo frito
@whitejersey: I wanted to have a relaxing first season where I could test out some riders (and their mechanics) and maybe develop some talents as well. On the other hand, I did not want to just finish in 50th place in every race for a whole year, so hopefully Jerome can grab a win somewhere
@matt17br: There are not a lot of tt's and prologues, but I do hope he can prove himself there and as a domestique in different races. Thanks for the deal again!
@jandal7 and Shonak: Didn't know JB had a history with Strava! I hope he can put his emotions aside and doesn't start riding for the wrong team
@AbhishekLFC: Sorry

While some crazy things are happening on the transfer market this evening, we are happy to announce the tenth rider on our roster
| Daniel Muñoz | 3.00 | 24y/o | €100.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 65 | 74 | 68 | 65 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 55 | 56 | 67 | 65 | 60 | 57 | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | | 67 | 79 | 71 | 69 | 74 | 73 | 74 | 55 | 56 | 68 | 66 | 61 | 61 |
Tenth rider, tenth nationality. We went back to our Latin American roots with Dani Muñoz, who is still quite young and has a lot to improve. It remains unclear whether he will be riding for us this season, but we are looking forward to him being a helpful domestique for any future GC leader we might have. Also, for a change, we signed a rider without (absolutely) terrible backup stats, so drinks are on me tonight!

Mainly I was fascinated to learn that North Macedonia was the Costa Rica of the Balkans. Feel richer just knowing that.
Congrats on Baugnies, I signed Hollway for the same 400k as a 32 YO last year and he was #1 in the CT standings. So it worked out. We didn't promote but that wasn't the goal. As you say winning some races is a nice reward.
Congrats on a great start and some very entertaining posts.

At the very least, your team is going to be very colorful Looking at last year's PCT rankings, while Seboka didn't score a ton, he at least didn't do nothing, so he might actually be of some value, one division lower. It is a bit of a gamble though, but it sounds like you know that Marquez on the other hand looks pretty solid!

Escalar o no escalar, esa es la cuestión We have definitely made mistakes during our first transfer season, this post being another nice example of that. As a manager I can say (or at least I hope) that I have learned from them and will put my newfound wisdom into practice during the next transfer window, which is only one small year away from now. Nevertheless, we would like to welcome our next two riders!
| Matala Seboka | 4.100 | 26y/o | €60.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 61 | 80 | 62 | 53 | 63 | 70 | 73 | 50 | 52 | 67 | 75 | 84 | 53 |
First of all, Seboka would like to file a complaint against his own team for using the old flag of Lesotho in his presentation table. We apologize, and sincerely do not know how to get the new flag in there. Second of all, Seboka would like to apologize himself for having even worse back up stats than the team's average. We would like to accept his apology and hope he somehow manages to get a good result somewhere to make us forget that we did not spend his salary on a regional talent. Also, Matala is the Lesothian (Lesothuenian? Lesothoney? Lesothonian?) national champion, which brings the total of our team to four. Some people would actually say Lesotho is the Costa Rica of Africa. Let's see what Makala can do for us this season...
| Florentino Marquez | 4.100 | 33y/o | €120.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 67 | 79 | 70 | 69 | 69 | 77 | 75 | 50 | 60 | 79 | 74 | 63 | 69 |
Not the youngest, not the cheapest, not really Latin American. However, he is still younger than the average age in Spain (43,1 y/o), still cheaper than Sam Bewley whose mountain stat is only 68 (pathetic if you ask me), and his great great great grandparents could have been conquistadors. All in all, close enough. He won't be able to compete with the Pinot's of this CT, but we hope (and believe) the former pupil of team Philips will be able to compete for a decent result here and there.
That's it for now, Thanks for reading and with some luck there'll be another update tonight

La juventud de hoy en día We're back with some transfer news, and are happy to announce our first Avenir eligible rider(s). We're happy that we could stay within our regional focus, and really look forward to develop our own young rider presented in this post, with hopefully more to come soon.
| Robinson Steven Ruiz | 1.00 | 22y/o | €50.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 71 | 66 | 66 | 62 | 68 | 67 | 64 | 64 | 70 | 70 | 60 | 68 | 64 | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | ↓↓↓ | | 78 | 66 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 77 | 77 | 60 | 69 | 68 |
Just an example of what Robinson Steven could turn into, which seems to be a very decent lead out for our future sprinters. He is the second Peruvian in our team, and might have a 1v1 in Rust against teammate Quispe at the end of the season to decide who will be the Peruvian national champion next year.
Next, we would like to announce a loan swap has taken place. Daniel Munoz has been sent to Great Britain (we are terribly sorry, Daniel) to level up this season. We would like to thank cycleYorkshire to give him the opportunity to level up in the PT division. In exchange, we will take care of leveling up one of his future diamonds of the MG, which is...
| Ethan Hayter | 1.00 | 22y/o | €20.000 |
Fl | Mo | Hi | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Co | Sp | Ac | Fi | Dh | Pr | 71 | 66 | 68 | 69 | 70 | 72 | 67 | 60 | 69 | 71 | 70 | 62 | 70 |
We hereby promise cycleYorkshire we will take good care of Ethan, and he will speak fluent Spanish by the end of the year.
That was it, thanks for reading, and we hope our next update will be about some more regional talents joining us!

Marquez is on a brilliant price looking at the FA market this year and combined with Baugnies should be a very strong leader pairing for you
