Giro del Veneto
Preview
A few days ago I had to go to the doctor and he said that I was suffering from over-exhaustion. Hopefully today won't be too tough.
4 riders went in the break.
With 15.5km to go, I got away with Rohan.
With 7.3km left I was solo. Despite my illness and all the subsequent frailties, I kept on going. There were 2 riders ahead from the break, with 14" on me, while behind me there was a 13 man chase group who were 17" further back. Rohan and Alec were in there.
With 3km left I'd caught Lewis and was caught by Pirazzi. Craddock was still ahead.
We were caught with 1.2km to go. Alec was doing very well.
He came out of the corner doing very well. Gallopin & Dehaes were the with to him.
Unfortunately he faded back to 4th. I came in 13th.

4th is a good result for Alex, and I am not surprised Fabio is tired after this fantastic TdF performance!

A tough start, but with Thibaut here we should do well.
4 riders went in the break, as is the usual.
With 10km left, they still had 3 minutes, but 4.7km out we actually made the catch. We being myself, Thibaut and John Darwin.
With 1.5km left we had 24 seconds with John fading. We decided to make in me vs Thibaut for some fun, and I was lucky enough to take his wheel.
Costa & Kennaugh were coming but it was too little too late. We were both dead 200m, but it was all fine.
Unfortunately I couldn't get around and Thibaut won it. Darwin was also 10th and Rohan 12th.

If Thibaut is ahead after this stage, then it's likely he will win unless we have our annual catastrophe. But that already happened this year so we should be fine.
10 riders went in the break.
Rohan, Thibaut and I were up front when the first attacks came from Costa and my old friend Duarte.
We managed to water down the group until it was just me, Thibaut and Fabio. We were keen to show him what he was missing out on.
With 5km to go Thibaut was ahead and I was just behind.
It was Pinot vs Duarte going under the banner. Of course neither wanted to lead the other one out.
Eventually though the Colombian cracked, and Thibaut had the wheel.
Although there was still the matter of going around. Fabio wasn't going to make it easy.
But right on the line the Tour de France champion prevailed! 2 wins in 2!
I was fully out of energy, and had to settle for a still very good 7th.

The team sent a huge-money frame deal with Passolo last night. We were under pressure to make the Italians think their investment was worthwile. Fortunately, Thibaut was on form to do just that.
8 riders went in the break today.
Unfortunately though, when the attacks came, Thibaut was just behind. He needed to minimise his losses to stay in Yellow.
Unfortunately his energy didn't last long, but that only gave the fighter in him the chance to take over. I was just behind.
The Frenchman finished 15th, which we thought would be just enough to stay in the lead. In the end, he kept Yellow comfortably.
In the KoM jersey, I finished 18th.
