So I'm going on a school Euro Tour after exams. Starts on 2nd July: Cape Town --> Dubai --> London --> Amsterdam --> Cologne --> Paris --> Rome --> Florence --> Venice --> Dubai --> Cape Town.
Pretty strange that the teachers and travel agents willingly give us 2 FREE nights in Amsterdam... But I don't smoke so...
Going to be quite a mission to get my race weight in check

smoking is not going to be your problem in Amsterdam. I know from experience that everytime I'm riding on a local circle. I always feel weak when I'm coming close to Amsterdam. if you're not carefull those effects can become permanent if you stay in Amsterdam for too long.

Nice trip Aidan, i was in all of that cities in Europe you have listed and Rome was probably the city that got ,me most, together with Paris, but that is due to me being fan of history. I was in Paris three times and i doubt there is museum i have not visited.

Captains log, day 3. As a result of the local food I've laid several captain's logs.
After three days, I've befriended the natives. My initial theory, that they are loud yet friendly, is confirmed. However, my biggest discovery might perhaps be that since this is an island, evolution seems to have taken a while longer here than other places. I base this assumption on the fact that both males and females excibit an excess amount of body hair.
These traits, namely them being loud and hairy, has led me to believe that the inhabitants are descendants of apes and/or italians. More research is needed to confirm this.
Tomorrow morning I will begin my long journey eastwards and back to civilization. I am planning a new expedition later in the autumn, provided I get the funding, perhaps the king of Portgual will be so kind as to provide financial aid in the exchange for me naming my permanent settlement after him.

The local cliché implies we'd rather assume the hairy kind to be Turkish or Portugese (or any nation related to building walls ).

Wow, that's really awesome!
Just out of interest, what exactly are you going to do in Cologne? The cathedral obviously, but what else? There's a good museum about the Third Reich there IIRC, so maybe you're doing that?
Oh, and don't forget to go and get a Kölsch in one of the pubs, beer is from sixteen in Germany after all.

Mollema is ready for the Tour, here he is on the background being overtaken by Marcel Kittel "on a hill" as Kittel claims
note the nice gestures of the Belkin team

Could be worse, could be in German, a language that I can only speak sparingly.
Although that's actually a good thing, I wouldn't want to be critical of the adverts. Never.

I just can't see why it can't be in a language I understand better such as English or French - heck even Gaelic - instead of the beautiful German language
