Winning the flats in major stage race
By: Flexxe | Average Rating: 2.80 | Game version: PCM14
My tactic focusses on 2 decent flat riders and 2 flat/sprintkings From Team Giant Shimano
The train: Veelers (73 FL) - De Kort (75 FL) - Degenkolb (77 FL, SP 81, ACC 81) - Kittel (75 FL, SP 83, ACC 82)
1. Before Veelers does his task he should take his energy gel between 13 and 12K
2. Keep yourself calm till the 10K flag. Untill 10K Veelers should be on follow, he's following one of the leading men in the peloton.
3. Whenever the gel Kicks in, around the 10K flag, Veelers should start riding the dot at an effort between 90-99.
4. If all goes well, you're in first position and a lot of the other lead outs are burning up trying to follow you.
5. As soon as Veelers seems to be burning up, De Kort takes over.
6. Let Degenkolb as well as Kittel take their gels around the milestone of 5K
7. Depending on who's still in the race for the victory make up your mind: Degenkolb becomes ultimate leadout or your second sprinter.
So, you either sacrifice Degenkolb and let him be the leadout and almost take Kittel all the way through OR when the circumstances allow you to, you let Degenkolb take part in the sprint. In either case start sprinting in the zone of 1.8-1.5Home | Submit a new Tip & Trick
