It's that time of the year again - it's time for the PCM.daily Awards.

For the past week you've been nominating all your top picks and now it's time to vote for your number one favourite - well, in case it made it to the final selection.

It's rather easy. Just open this forum, scroll through the various awards that you feel you have an opinion on and pick your winner.

The polls will stay open until 12th of January 2014 23:59 CET which means you have about five days to find out who deserves your recognition and respect. Allez!

Join Froomedog's 2014 CQ Game

If you think that you've got a good grasp on what riders will be successful next season, then you should definitely have a look at the new game started by FroomeDog99. Following along lines similar to those of Velogames, the game will have you put together a squad of riders you believe will score many points by achieving good results in real life cycling races.

It's not as simple as it sounds though, since the total points count of your squad in the CQ ranking during 2013 cannot exceed 5000 points - making it impossible to simply choose all the riders that dominated the past season. All rules can be found in this thread. Now - hurry and sign up, as the deadline is on Monday!

2013 PCM.Daily Fantasy NFL Champion Crowned

Back in August, 20 members signed up wanting to be crowned the 3rd winner of this popular fantasy game. However, like with most games, there could only be 1 winner. Baseballlover312 and his team Pickles' Pickled Surprise survived the ups and downs of the regular season and then steamrolled through the playoffs. Where in a thrilling Championship Game he defeated welker3257 by just 2.5 points (one of the closest margins of victory throughout the entire season) to claim the title.

Graphics forum overflowing with 2014 jerseys

After Omega Pharma - Quickstep became the first team to reveal their new jersey design all the way back in November, many other teams have now also taken the step into the new year. The shirtmakers are doing their best to keep up with the pace the designs are released, so stop by and pick up some new colours for your PCM career!

PCM.daily Awards nominations now open!

As promised in the last edition of the news, the first step towards handing out the prestigious has now been taken. Earlier today, CrueTrue opened the official awards thread, where you will find all the information you need in order to help selecting nominees for the 30 different award categories.

Nominations must be sent in via PM to CrueTrue before the stroke of midnight between the 5th and 6th of January to be valid. Have fun!

No (New) Story of the Month for December

With the yearly awards around the corner and many people enjoying a couple of weeks off at the moment, Mresuperstar has decided that the monthly story awards for December will be pushed a month ahead and consequently merged with those of January.

In other words: stories started during the month of December will be eligible for best new story during January's awards.

Arroyo dominates the Costa Rican mountains

The Man-Game has been laying low during the past week on what could be seen as a little christmas break, but the racing resumed yesterday with one of the hardest races for the CT teams: the mountainous Cartago - Irazu classic, which finished at the top of a 3400m volcano!

Like in several other C2 races featuring mountains, Die Berg Komt Er's top climber David Arroyo turned out to be the strongest - consolidating his reputation as the best climber in the Continental Tour. Daniel Moreno (Iberia) and Francisco Colorado (Boeing) were the only ones finishing within two minutes after a carnage on the final climb.

New story initiative sees light of day
We recently launched the Story of the Month award, organized by admin Mresuperstar, but in the coming time story makers can expect even more exposure of both themselves and their stories, thanks to a new initiativer by member Ian Butler.

Dubbed 'Writers Block', Ian Butler plans to make a monthly (or two-monthly) magazine about story writing with interviews of the writers, updates on current stories, flashbacks to old stories and much more. You can read more about it here.

1961 database released
We've previously mentioned a beta version of a 1961 database in this section, however now it's time to enjoy the full version.

As the name reveals, this database lets you play with the teams and riders of 1961. It comes with 52 teams, 1000 riders and basically everything else you need and more. Unfortunately, the career mode does not work with this DB, but there should be plenty of hours of entertainment in playing with the many new stages the database comes with anyway.

Some time next week, the PCM.daily Awards will make its return to the site - as usual, with the nominations opening up first before the actual voting.

Currently, there are no plans on changing anything in particular, but we've opened up a thread where you now have the chance to propose new award categories for this year's awards. So if you have a good idead for a new PCM.daily award, this is the place to go.

Cyanide looking for PCM14 beta testers

If you want to help making sure that PCM14 will be as free of bugs as possible, then perhaps you should consider applying to become an official beta tester. You have until Friday to send in your application. The actual test will take place between January 6th and 17th.

Testers will be able to try both racing and career mode, and then report possible bugs back to Cyanide.

2013 Paris-Nice available on DLC

Those of you who are enjoying the Tour de France console game but are getting a little tired of playing the same stages over and over again, will be happy to hear that Cyanide have released the 2013 Paris-Nice route for download.

Man-Game: Wide open overall in the unpredictable TONE

With individual time trials, sprints, hills and cobbles all included in the route, the Tour of Northern Europe is definitely the most divers race on the Man-Game calendar.

Four stages in, French time trial-specialist Jerome Coppel is leading the race, but the riders are packed closely together behind him. With the one hard day in the Ardennes and one on the cobbles in northern France remaining, it's pretty clear that it is all but decided who's going to take the overall. Puncheur, cobbler or timetriallist - take your pick!
