Yeah! I bought world of worldcraft to play it vanilla.. I bought battlefield 2 to play 1.0, yeah, i bought PCM05-06-07-08-09-10-11-12, to play version 1.0.0.0 in every game. I never expect them to give out patches..
Are you a complete moron!?
I pay them for the game, to develop a good bugfree game that i can enjoy!
You guys out there may think i am harsh and rough in this, but some of you will nod your head and think that i have a valid point!
Cheers
#32 | TheManxMissile on 14. August 2012 15:46
No, you bought V1 of the game
Cyanide have zero obligation to patch or fix the game in anyway.
You dont pay them per patch, so you dont pay them to fix the game.
Just be thankful they do patch the game, so that it is playable.
They will release the patch when its finished, just be patient.
#33 | sindre- on 14. August 2012 15:51
So, lets say they didnt give out any patch at all, in any game..
You would buy the game?
#34 | acac on 14. August 2012 16:39
i think thats the point:they do it to sell the game more(like an ad)
#35 | TheManxMissile on 14. August 2012 16:42
I would, as its the only real cycling game out there.
I dont buy the patches, i buy the game.
Cyanide do a good job for their budget (trust me there are far far farfarfarfarfar far worse games out there). They are not perfect, but if they were rushed it would be worse.
The game with the 1.3.0.0 patch, and dailydb is very playable as far as i'm concerned

Come on, you bought the V1. That's it.

In a perfect world, developers would deliver the perfect V1 to the customer. It would be compatible with everything and contain everything the discerning gamer ever needed. This is not the case, but that does not alter the fact that a customer never pays for services that the company isn't selling (patches). Patches are strictly a service that the developer offers to the gamer. Whether or not this service is good becomes a measure of the company itself and the subsequent "perceived quality of their games", wherefore bad/good customer service affects sales of future games.

Hypothetically, publishers and developers, who did not patch their imperfect games, would lose customers as their reputation suffered. Hence the patching - basically, they're trying to save their own badly-developed-game ass, so that you keep buying their stuff. It's customer care - NOT A PURCHASED SERVICE.

They're not required to do it, but it does maintain a solid base of customers.

As such, you don't have the right, as a customer, to demand a patch. You may think that their care and service sucks, but you have no legal right to make demands. You do, however, have every right to not buy their next game.

Yes, I'm disparaging you a bit, but you did call me moron, so... There you go.

Ithaca i think there is something in Eula or in EU directive that makes the developer responsible for the product and if it is broken, they are in duty to fix it. Problem is that nowhere is stated what is broken product...shite game is not broken game but bad game in terms of laws, so we have to live with it.

But it is not like you say, that once you buy the game, you have no rights...

Only possible reaction is to avoid buying the game again sadly.
#38 | Ithaca on 15. August 2012 06:49
I'm pretty sure that the customer has no right to make an actual demand of the product developers, unless the product is downright faulty or unplayable (I'm not even sure that such a demand is possible anyway. Anything can be pointed to as being "as intended", in which case the product isn't faulty, but merely "bad".).

I'd need to properly study another EULA (and the applying laws of the given country/state, as the EULA is overridden by national laws) to give you an answer to this, but given the timeframe of such a task, I'm going to stand by my hunches for now. Some of it is based on years of business studies, so I'd like to think that I understood some of it. At least a bit of it. Hopefully. Maybe.

I never said that the customer has no rights at all. I said that the customer has no rights to demand a patch - or another form of alteration to the software - which I'm still pretty sure about.

Than we are stating pretty much the same Smile
#40 | Ithaca on 15. August 2012 06:57
Pfft

I just looked this up:
"EULAs for costly software do not provide sufficient protection of the user from poor quality control or defects in the software. For example, some Microsoft EULAs offer a warranty for only the first 90 days, and do not provide a warranty for updates and patches."

This is a critique of the common EULA found on europa.eu. So they're aware, but it's not changing anytime soon.

I apologize for the rants.

Haha, i start to like you Ithaca ^^ But over to the comment topic. When is this patch to be released? Someone knows?
#42 | Iguwell on 17. August 2012 15:50
Either never or in September. Cyanide don't seem to care about getting closure on some tiny fixes to their products so we can all start playing.
#43 | AaB-ern on 17. August 2012 16:56
This is probably the longest period between the announcement of a fix list and the actual release, there has ever been on a patch for any version of PCM. Pfft
#44 | TheManxMissile on 17. August 2012 17:50
It would be nice to have a perfect game, but the game is currently perfectly playable!!!

Plus its Cyanide, when have they ever been good...

Plus its Cyanide, when have they ever been good...

Afaik, in PCM06, PCM08... but I wasn't here so I can't really confirm that. I know that some days ago I was reading the PCM09 features interview, and it looked like it had the triple number of new features compared to PCM11-12.. I think it's safe to say that they were "better" some time ago.
#46 | ste_18 on 20. August 2012 15:46
News about day of relase??
#47 | Iguwell on 20. August 2012 18:17
News from Cyanide on progress?

I must laugh
#48 | TheManxMissile on 20. August 2012 18:52
They are most likely on holiday still
and will be till the end of the month
just wait, the current patch is good
#49 | Aziz on 20. August 2012 22:04
the next patch if this really confirms it will not Revolutionary and not remove the bitterness of former player pcm preceding.
turn multiplayer mode was paramount and it will not return to 2012 pfm in a future patch
track mode has been left abandoned al to the chagrin of many player
a petition has been formulated on the forum cyanide involving many experiment players, but it had no significant effect
I can advise you is not to buy pcm 2013 without make sure the game is in the domain of acceptable
#50 | PCM rulezz on 21. August 2012 09:27
When will they release this patch
#51 | kimiopn on 21. August 2012 12:21
Completely agree with Aziz. I bought the game before it was released this year and for more than 3 weeks i don't play it. I want to start a real carrer with pcm daily patch, and with the 1.3.0 patch i lost the appetite. Meanwhile Vuelta and Volta a Portugal at the same time are making me desperate to play!
#52 | jackyzz on 22. August 2012 11:43
can you fix the bug about stage races... everytime i do the vuelta half my team withdraw after the 4th stage! is a bit annoying when andy is in first and frank in third!
#53 | OversmokedShape on 26. August 2012 12:18
Hello!
When to wait for the patch and the final DB?
#54 | edudiar on 26. August 2012 16:12
At this pace it would be even best to wait for 2013 rosters...
#55 | vasyl on 01. September 2012 13:19
if they will be releasing patches in that pace I will never buy this game again.

If you were with cyanide, wouldn't that be priority number 2, priority number 1 to make sure the game is playable, and nr.2 to make the game better every couple of months. In both cases to build a community so every year with the release of your newest product, more and more people will be interested in your product.

So with other words ... cyanide is allready showing us their managing capabilities in real life, why should we ever expect them to suddenly change tactics ? That's sooo not French. Also just looking at the financial management system in the game itself.... it makes you wonder if the same guy that developed that, also does financial management of the cyanide company. Maybe the guy that created the "sponsering" in the game is also in charge of the company promotion?

(i normally never post, so for all of you that are still reading this : I love this game.... have been hooked sinds pcm2007, there is no game like it, then again, when i was young i sort of created my own tour de france game, making little cyclist out of paper, and then riding them against each other ( my hands controling them, like we did with little toy cars ) I loved making (writing down) the rankings and names etc, painting the colours of the jerseys.... It was in the time of Greg Lemond and Laurent Fignon)
Many thanks to all the people that helped making this game better for freeeeeeeeeeee
