PCM15 Gameplay Trailer
Pro Cycling Manager 2015

PCM15 Gameplay Trailer + Analysis

Cyanide has released it's first actual gameplay trailer for PCM15. Watch the full trailer on Youtube. But here's a run down of what we can learn from the trailer.

BMC are once again COM. There's visual change to in-race HUD, nothing major just an altered style for the same information. 200 competitons across Road and Track, so a good number of races included with the game to begin with but probably not 200 real life routes. Plus in-race it's as pretty as usual.

We get a look at some of the new Career screens. Completely new layout to the Rider Info screen which should be much easier to navigate around. The "Scout Report" button is new as is the display of Potential, which i think is cool. Equipment Sponsors are back in the same set-up as PCM14, hopefully it works this time around.

Still no return of the "7 day" calendar we lost after PCM13 but the general Career UI is cleaned up and looks very nice to me. The background color now matching your team colors is a nice touch and i think is very nice. Functionally nothing seems to have changed much just the way things are laid out.

The Fitness Curve system doesn't seem to have changed. You'll still pick rider objectives that define their fitness for the season. Also Etixx are not licensed. The next in-race shot shows a zoomed in climb profile which is new and a great little addition. There's mention of an updated progression, training systems and scouting but we don't get a good look at them so not much to say. There's also mention that we can now have a Development team, but that will probably be locked to WT teams, again we don't see anything.

Confirmation that you can alter a riders trajectory will be in the game from the start, and not just patched in later on. Nice feature that will be useful for the "Be-a-Pro" mode. And speaking of Be-a-Pro we get a look at some of it! Name, region, height, weight, skin color, picture, age and specialization are changable options so now you really can put yourself in the game. You'll get to pick between three teams, and we see what one of the Dev teams might look like in the form of an Ag2R jersey. We then get a look at training properly and it is a lot more detailed, at least in Be-a-Pro.

It finishes off a brief mention of multiplayer. Up to 16 players in Road Races. And it doesn't end with an image of the Yellow Jersey sprinting on the Champs Elysees!!!

There's quite a number of changes this year and the focus has been put on Be-a-Pro mode and Career modes. It's what we as a community have most strongly been asking for for several years and Cyanide have listened. I think it looks great and we are just a few weeks away from finding out!

Cool analysis there.
It'll definitely be a good game, Cyanide did a fine job it seems Wink

As long as the AI is still utter garbage all the new menu cosmetics and the showing of gradients in 3D-races are useless. Like in FIFA, why wasting ressources to include woman national teams in FIFA 16 when the gameplay itself should be the main issue to improve the game?

They didn't change anything important from what i can see in this brief trailer.

The strategy screen before the race seems to be the same as 2014, graphics aren't improved, the setting of season goals for the riders probably still takes hours and the CPU peaks in the first GT-week, bad rider progression like always etc.
Why can't we change the stages (profile, timegaps etc.) anymore in the official editor?
I wouldn't be so optimistic.Rolling Eyes

Cyanide like always won't even include the official race routes for each race they put in the db. Sorry for my rage here but this is just lazy.
Everyone drools about the new interfaces like every year.

This gives me atleast a little bit hope in regards to the AI-behavior. They don't mention mountain tactics though.

"The Artificial Intelligence of your rivals has also been enhanced, with a greater awareness of the routes, smarter tactics on the cobbled and hilly sections, or simply when you’re defending a jersey!"
From the official website.

Well, Be a Pro mode looks good. If it's implemented good, it might be very awesome. Let's hope it is!

Well, stage making is a consuming process, in my opinion I rather have them focus on the main 2015 stages and after that just use the time to improve other aspects of the game.

Regarding mainly your first post, you seem a very pessimistic person Pfft
Give them a break, remember they are a very small development team.
And yes there have been modifications to the AI, trust me.

Any word on a stream this year? They did it the past few years, but it's a bit late now. (you know, a presentation stream)
#7 | Waghlon on 02. June 2015 16:05
@Fresh D:

An official stage for a big race, created in a good enough quality to not cause complaints, easily takes at least 6 hours to make. If you half-ass the continental races, you would still need four hours.
So if Cyanide were to have every single official route made in 3D, they would have to hire at least one person whose sole job would be to make stages. All day, every day, for many months.

(Coincidently Cyanide: If you are reading this, I'm unemployed this summer Pfft)

Nice Grin I had heard that you can pre-order the game on steam
#9 | Jesleyh on 02. June 2015 16:14
You probably also can buy the game at the PCMdaily link, supporting the site Wink
#10 | deek12345 on 02. June 2015 17:42
hmm think ill wait and see what the AI are like 1st before i buy it.
#11 | Jeremy on 02. June 2015 18:27
I skipped the game last year. Season planning is probably the worst thing in the 2013 game.
Lachi's season planner is still way better than the crap that Cyanide did.
Having said this, I'll probably get the game this year and buy it every couple of years.
#12 | Greg956 on 02. June 2015 19:15
Already bought in Steam)
#13 | unlim on 02. June 2015 20:01
preordered Smile havent bought pcm since 2004 version..feel so good
#14 | Eden95 on 02. June 2015 23:35
..It actually looks nice. Might they have finally listened to the community? I'm still skeptical until I know more about the AI.
May even be the first pcm game i'll have bought in the last 4 years.
#15 | lukaas on 03. June 2015 00:00
I didn't buy PCM14 but this one sounds really exciting and I can't wait to play it!
#16 | matt17br on 03. June 2015 08:07
I can reccomend the game to everyone. I was skeptical as well before playing it but really, the improvements are everywhere.

PCM 14 was a step backwards, this one is just as great as pcm 11 imo. They are known every year for taking away features but this year they didn't! They even brought back many of the stuff they removed in pcm 14 like the ability of skipping to a certain day, or knowing in race who the favourites are (the ones indicated in orange).

Plus, the TTTs are now playable and not completely bugged and unbalanced to either you or the AI.

Moreover, the procyclist mode is really enjoyable to play, it's quite realistic as well, the rider will develop just like you want him to actually develop, and also he will compete in a big amount of real U23 races.

And no, they didn't pay me if you're wondering, I just genuinely enjoyed the game and I can't wait to play the full version. I saw many people that were pessimistic after PCM 14. I was too, but believe me, this is really the wrong year not to buy Pro Cycling Manager.

Still no return of the "7 day" calendar we lost after PCM13

We got a very nice 28 day one in exchange Wink
#17 | richkill on 03. June 2015 10:03
Will probably wait for the Steam summer sale. Last version i purchased was 2012. Will probably get the game every 3 years at this rate.

All the 3 years, yes exatly, I wrotte in 2013 about pcm game's budget and it said about it :

To understand, the way to pedal from Cyanide on PCM, it seems interesting to see this video from his director Patrick Pligersdorffer :

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8sn8i_patrick-pligersdorffer-pdg-de-cyani_news

We learn that dev. budjet each year is 650 000€, but a bigger budget of 1M € is allocated all the 3 years.

https://forums.letour-games.com/viewto...p;start=10

Unfortunatly, budget changed since 2013 maybe not in the good way, knowing that Cyanide decided to concentrated their endeavor on Console Tour de France game PS4 - xBox etc... would be interesting to know these budget for PCM 2015 !

* to remember that CYANIDE in 2012, almost 7 millions turnover and more than 700 000 € of profit

10% Discount now if you preorder the game before its release date.
#20 | TheManxMissile on 03. June 2015 14:23
#19 Or wait a few days and you can buy the game and support PCM.Daily! The pre-order offers will stand right up until the game release so no need to rush when you could keep the site running!
Or buy it now and suffer the wrath of more ad's Wink
#21 | Jesleyh on 03. June 2015 14:35
I agree with Matt above Wink

Oh and also with what TMM said, of course.
#22 | jandal7 on 04. June 2015 08:12
#20 give me details. If it doesn't need personal info and is cheap (as in pre-order price or less) I'd be willing to help the site.

Etixx is licensed.

Just wait a couple of days, we're working on it. Steam's pre-order offer will last until release(well, day before release) so plenty of time Wink
#25 | Jeremy on 04. June 2015 13:32
No way I'm buying this game in steam. 36 euros is a ripoff. Usually this game costs somewhere between 20 to 25 euros.
Hope the PCM Daily price is below 30 at least.
#26 | Jesleyh on 04. June 2015 13:43
''Usually this game costs somewhere between 20 to 25 euros.''
Really? On proper sites and pre-release, it's almost always around 40 Euros, I think. 36 is a normal price if you ask me.
#27 | kioMsU on 04. June 2015 14:14
#26 in Polish shop preorder cost 20euro.
#28 | Greg956 on 04. June 2015 19:20
I bought in Steam for 790 Rubles, it's about 12 EUR, 14$, and all of prices on game in Russia is 700-1000, so for me it's better to buy in Steam, where games are much cheaper, because of idiotic economical times in our pseudo-country.
#29 | Jeremy on 04. June 2015 20:40
I think the last one I got was from here

https://uk.gamesp...15--2834-1

A couple euros more than I remember but still about 10 cheaper than steam

Edit: ouch euro is doing poorly against pounds. 32 euros!
#30 | Jesleyh on 04. June 2015 21:11
Haha so barely a difference Pfft
