Some of the new things are awesome ! I will buy it anyway , just like FIFA and NBA !
    #2 | Stromeon on 11. April 2013 14:28
The Explosive vs Diesel thing sounds interesting - hopefully that's a part of a major overhaul of mountain AI...

Looks like a few decent changes to the career as well, if nothing major
    #3 | CountArach on 11. April 2013 14:37
Optimistic me: This all sounds amazing, hopefully with the mountain AI fixed this will be the best in the series so far!

Reaslistic me: Yes... but they won't implement it correctly.
    #4 | Jeremy on 11. April 2013 15:59
Finally some good news... looking very good! I'm inclined to buy it!
Please add some minor improvements for Armada, like Bronze only and Silver only teams (edit: races) and the possibility to save predefined squads.
    #5 | Miguel98 on 11. April 2013 17:32
5 bucks they will screw every one of this features.
    #6 | Alakagom on 11. April 2013 21:06
What do you expect ? They are a very small sutdio, you'd be astonished how few people work on this game full time compared to other games. Focus gives them a very small budget, and considering they still make great game, I think you should be quite appreciating there is actually a DECENT cycling game out there.
    #7 | Miguel98 on 11. April 2013 21:19
    Alak, sorry. Embarassed

I love this game, altough, if they fix the AI issue, with this add's, it's probably the best in the series.
    #8 | Alakagom on 11. April 2013 21:21
No need to be sorry mate Wink But to be fair to them, they have few people working on the game full time ( less than what we think I'd say easily ) and they don't have a large budget allocated to them due to the niche market that is a cycling game. So it's not easy for them to balance everything right.
    #9 | Ian Butler on 11. April 2013 21:40
Very true what Alakagom is saying. I'm just very glad to have a 3D cycling game. Add this community with its great databases and you've got yourself one hell of a simulator-game!

That being said, some of these things sound really promising, cannot wait!
    #10 | valverde321 on 11. April 2013 21:42
#8 And thats why I am not mad about the Armada mode. Means that its less likely for them to go bankrupt/stop making the game due to lack of funds as it probably is a very small market for a cycling game.

Still it shouldn't be the focus of a cycling game, so from now on I hope they keep it as more of a secondary (money grabber) mode.

As for the game. Sounds like a lot of great improvements. Unfortunately I rarely have the will or time to play PCM so I doubt I'll pre-order but if the reception is great I'll probably buy it later on.
    #11 | baseballlover312 on 11. April 2013 22:01
I'm definetly in on it. I perobably would be anyway, seeing as I didn't get 12 and still have 11, but it souns like at least a worthwhile game.
    #12 | ShortsNL on 11. April 2013 22:24
The features sound really good. If the game has been patched fully 2 months after its release, the Daily DB has been released, and I'm done with my current PCM11 carreer, I will consider buying it Smile
    #13 | TheManxMissile on 11. April 2013 22:25
One thing that annoys me as they are so small is how they chase all the licenses. It obvious they have to pay out a lot for them, which compromises the rest of the game massively. They know the community can do a great job with graphics etc. so why don't they focus on the basic changes we all crave year after year?
The game still has fundamental issues that were apparent 3 or more years ago!!! No amount of excuses can make up for that
    #14 | NTTHRASH on 12. April 2013 00:22
@Manx: Yes, but it's nice to have an amazing game to produce.

And for myself, IT'S MINE!!! Definitely getting this!

I have to disagree Alakagom, i think yours and similar attitudes are what makes the game not perfect. Because Cyanide gets a lot of praise for half-done game. If they have so small budget, why they buy more licenses. Why not get additional people to work on the game or what i would like even more, stop the series for a year and polish the game so it is playable without the work of others outside of the studio. The studio makes lot of games, so they would make it financially.

We are the customers, not paid commercial agents of Cyanide (well, i am not sure about you, it seems like you are pursuing the job there). It is not our concern how many people are doing it, quality of the game is only concern of the customer and game is broken year after year.

Since there are broken issues in the game every year, especially those that are adressed three or more years and they are ignored, i think the customer have the right to say someting bad, without you jumping on defense of these moneymakers every time.

"Be glad that there is a cycling game" is biggest BS and something that will never push Cyanide to make a better and balanced game.
    #16 | roturn on 12. April 2013 07:51
@13: Lots of people, who buy the game don`t even know about these communities and play it as unpatched or patched only version without any community DB`s etc.
These won`t buy a next version if there wouldn`t be any licenses.
Also first time buyers might quickly lose interest in a game with no licenses before getting to know the possibility to edit/download DB`s.
    #17 | TheManxMissile on 12. April 2013 09:59
    #15 Exactly!!

#16 Still doesn't excuse a game with fundamentally broken game-play which has not been fixed in at least 3 versions now. The management part of the fame is woefully under-developed, and has not seen a major overhaul in forever. The racing has some basic issues, such as attacking and the mountain AI.
Anyone who picks us the game fir the first time is more likely to be put off by these problems than a lack of licensing. I recently played FM again recently. I know they have a bigger budget etc. but it really shows how poor PCM actually is.
I can think of a few games with less budget (i assume, as we don't know Cyanides) that put out a far better game, or at least one that works properly straight out of the box and doesn't require a community DB to make it really good.
I got PCM10 and had no idea about community DB's until just before PCM11 came out. The reason i got PCM11 was because of how much better the series could be with proper community support and additions. The base game just doesn't stack up .
PCM12 has been a huge step in the right direction, and this shows the right sort of intention, but there is much more than needs to be done.
(sorry that got kind of rant-like)
    #18 | lluuiiggii on 12. April 2013 17:26
PCM12 has been a huge step in the right direction? Shock Why? If anything I'd say PCM11 is that (lots of new features, not all of them implemented greatly though).
    #19 | TheManxMissile on 12. April 2013 17:46
At least in PCM12 they fixed some of the features from PCM11, so imo PCM12 made the bigger step as it had the most new and working features. And a couple of the patches fixed longer standing issues and wishes. That is the trend Cyanide need to follow, rather than constant small adjustments to the racing and graphics
    #20 | lluuiiggii on 12. April 2013 18:38
Tbh I can only think of sponsors renewal that was carried from PCM11 and eventually fixed in 12 Pfft Other than that, several things fixed by patches in PCM12 were bugs created by PCM12 itself: not being able to use startlists, not being able to zoom profile, not being able to play online other than Armada...

But well, I don't think that agreeing on whether PCM11 or 12 was the huge step in the right direction really matters anyway Pfft
    #21 | SSJ2Luigi on 12. April 2013 21:16
well if you think the game is broken then don't buy it. it is that simple
    #22 | baseballlover312 on 12. April 2013 22:52
#16 If they can't see that there is a database ditor, and maybe people have made these... then they are stupid. I didn't know that there was even a cycling game out there, but I found Daily pretty quickly. And even so, a game with a few liscenses isn't better than none for me. It's a waste of budget.
    #23 | valverde321 on 13. April 2013 03:21
#22 I've got to be really honest, when I first saw PCM videos, if the teams were unlicensed I probably wouldn't have bought the game in the first place, just because when you're new to a game you've usually not got much of a clue how good the modding community is and such. Looking at it now, knowing this community and others like it I could easily say they shouldn't bother, but as a new comer to the game, if I saw that I might not buy the game.

#20 Good point(s). A lot of things were ruined in PCM12. Of course the removal of features isn't mentioned so thats why I'll be waiting for the game to come out to buy it or not.
    #24 | mowinckel91 on 13. April 2013 07:27
I guess I'm somewhere in-between here. They sure need to make the game better because the budget cant be that broken and it would be nice to actually play a cycling game with the same tactics in real life, but as long as I have this community I'm just really happy that I have a cycling game to play these days.

Really excited about the new Champs Elysees Stage Banana
    #25 | Ian Butler on 13. April 2013 11:59
#24 The question is: will the Champs Elysees be at nightfall or not? I hope so, but I think not.
    #26 | Rin on 13. April 2013 20:19
I wonder about those people saying it's broken but buy the game every year?

Why would you buy a game when you know it's broken and still complain.

    A case of 'Murica?

Don't know you haven't to buy it?

But I see here the pattern of the never satisfied gamer who demands a lot the developer "needs" to do in a short amount of time and at best give it to them for free.
    #27 | TheManxMissile on 13. April 2013 21:38
Not broken? What would you call the Mountain AI and the useless attack button then?

And the rest of that i find extremely offensive. I am not a spoiled 14 year old CoD fanboy. I fully appreciate the effort and time that goes into making a game. I have no issues with paying for said game.
I have an issue when certain basics are done badly.

I will not be buying PCM13 straight away either. I am very happy with 12 and will wait to see exactly 13 is like.
    #28 | Avin Wargunnson on 15. April 2013 13:01
#26 Rin, it seems that you understand our "critics" in your own way, not in a way it was meant to.

First, how i am supposed to know if the game is broken or not, if i will not buy it? Because of this, i sometimes download games illegally to try before buy, but that is not possible with PCM iirc.

And yeah, i am so naive that i buy it every year, to see if the new version is better ( and i dont speak about graphics, because that is last thing i care about), just to see that there are still the same problems in the game, the problems that are adressed for years! Also there is also new bunch of broken aspects that were functional the year before. Of course there are some good new things every year, but for what price?

And dont say me that this is about time or money, majority of things that are broken are adressed for 3-5 years and solving them cant be so hard, neither expensive. They invest time and money in new graphic look, while ignoring basics like gameplay, or managerial part. Also as i said earlier, if they lack time to master the game, stop it for year or two and make PCM 2015 that will rock, not suck!

But i know this problems will never be solved, because many people are happy for having a cycling game, even when it is half game. They are okay with having shite on their head.

I am not buying it this year, at least that is my stance now, it will be hard to resist, but iam fed up with Cyanide wasting my money on shit like Armada to make more money, instead repairing the game itself. Wink
    #29 | RobbieMcEwen_Jaune on 17. April 2013 04:30
Sounds good if all of what they say will be implemented will be in the game.

The last game I bought was PCM 2009 and I'm still playing with that version. It's finally time to upgrade to a newer game, and no point buying PCM 2012 now as it's already a year too old. So I'm looking forward to buying this game new in a few months, with all the new additions.
    #30 | sali on 20. April 2013 00:25
I´m glad to buy it again and more glad that national teams will be incluyed in carreer mode
