Christmas is coming and we decided to unveil the very first information about PCM 2008.
This year, in order to cross a new threshold in rendering of riders, we decided to re-work from scratch the 3D rider model.
Here are some of the changes: - A more realistic and consistent mesh for the rider. - No more deformation on the rider texture. - The bike texture is large enough to allow us to faithfully reproduce the real model. - Different 3D meshes for frames, wheels and helmets
You can already download the new rider viewer with his 3d mesh and his texture. Thanks to this, you’ll be able to play with custom creations as soon as the game is available.
We’ll also most probably ask the best creators to include their best creations in the game, so everyone has the chance to be a creator for PCM 2008!
Be careful there are some problems with the skin in the viewer, but that’s not the case in the game. Please take no notice of that. if you do not see the rider (everything is grey), your video card probably won’t be compatible with the upcoming version of the game.
Next time they shouldn't take a french server... they are always soooooo slow! -.-
But anyway a nice present, maybe they'll finally make a great PCM...
(Besides, I've heard a bird whisper that there are more news to come soon -- and I can promise you that those news are very interesting, especially for some nationalities )
My guess is Cyclocross, although Id hope it would be tack (No chance though )

in that case, when is "soon"? be explicit. bear in mind I've slept a total of 3 hours these part 4 days. so, basically speak as if I'm a 3 year old. thank you
No one cares about British guys
If British were good at cycling, i mean, if they had top riders, then it would be a possibility that Cyanide add some british things. And they are french, and everyone knows how french hate british and vice-versa.
Theres this thing called a Velodrome, Track Cycling is raced there. Britain are the best country at track cycling, shortly followed by Holland, Australia and France.
that would be a decent argument if it weren't for the fact that most cycling nations have track cycling slightly below curling in their list of most popular sports
@SportingNonsense, just a point of fact. If England competed on its own, then you would not be in the top 10 track cycling nations. Its a fact that you draw most of your talent from Scotland and Wales and call it your own is just a little too cocky.....
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Im glad Cyanide have lifted their game graphically speaking. I think Miyas advances have shamed them enough. However it would've been nice to at least have kept the jersey format. Its basically made years of work, by the graphics artists here, redundant overnight. Now hopefully they extend that to other parts of the game. Change the figgen finish line and the scaling. One burning question I have, is that if they're completely sanctioned by the TDF organisation, then why dont they use all the designs, layouts and sponsors as the race does?? Why does it take someone like a Miya etc to have to produce something to improve the game. I'm with Waghlon on the Shaders issue. If you're prepared to take 1 step forward then why not take two or three or four. Most other game developers have adopted this philosophy for years, hence producing games that are at least a year in advance not 5 years behind.
There is this thing called a "Mountain". Everyone else (except Sweden and Canada of course) is better than you on it and the last one that could climb a "Mountain" is currently female.
