if you have downloaded the 09 DB i wont need this download because the Giro di Italia 09 is already in the Db isnt it.

Yes, but that version is not finished. This one is. So I would use this one.

But what about the variables in STA_stage? Like uphill-sprint and such. They won't fit the new stages, won't they?

The stages are alike, but this version is more detailed, more accurate and less buggy. So, STA_stage and STA_race still fits, and they are compatible.
