How to install?

A clean installation of Pro Cycling Manager 2020 is recommended before installing this database, to avoid bugs and to save you some space in your hard drive. This database is a standalone one, so you won't need anything else but the latest version of Pro Cycling Manager 2020 for this. It is highly recommended to have Steam updated to it's newest update when installing the database.

1. Download the database from the Downloads section here.

2. Open the archive you downloaded. Extract the content of the folders "3D, CM_Stages, Database, XML & GUI" inside the directory where you installed PCM 20. Generally, that's going to be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pro Cycling Manager 2020, but if that's not the case, the folder is always the one where you can find PCM's executable, PCM.exe. When you're asked to overwrite/merge, say yes.

3. Go to your Documents folder. Generally, that's going to be C:\Users\*YOUR_USERNAME*\Documents, but otherwise you should be able to find it yourself pretty easily. Replace the .cdb file named "OfficialRelease" in C:\Users\*YOUR_USERNAME*\Documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2020\Mod\Default with the .cdb file "OfficialRelease" that you just downloaded.

4. Now it's time to start the game. When you create a new game (either Career/Pro Cyclist/One-off Race/etc.), select "Default". Do not delete any existing files or folders this time!

5. You're set, enjoy! If you followed this guide, but you’re still having problems with the installation, ask your question in the General questions thread on PCMdaily.com.

I've got a career save on the original database, is there any way to export that save across to this database without losing it?

@michaelkind94: There's no easy way to do that, no. You can continue to play your career after installing the DB, but to get the benefits of the DB, you have to start a new one.

@OscarM1999: Using the cdb only isn't possible because of all the races and new teams that only work with the additional files. If you only want correct names and adjusted stats, there are a few real name databases in the Steam Workshop.

@zaw192002: Can you tell us which variant the stage is from? If you're not sure, you can go check by going to the one-off race menu and clicking through the different Tour variants to find the one matching the stage from your career. The name of the variant should be either a year or a stage maker. Then we can check what's wrong with the stage file. If you want a quick fix just to keep playing, you can replace the respective stage file in the CM_stages folder in the game's steam directory. Simply find the stage you want to use instead, copy the stage files and rename them top_tdf_18_"name of the variant". I'd advise you to make a copy of the original files first. Also, if possible, please ask in English next time Wink
