With six new riders coming in, BMC looks like it is going to be stronger than ever. Do you think it will be Hincape or Ballan leading the 2010 squad?
List of new BMC riders
Alessandro Ballan | George Hincapie | Karsten Kroon | Marcus Burghardt | Steve Morabito | Michael Schär |

They'll properbly do shared leadership, where the best on the day is the leader, that happends on most cobble teams.

Kroon will most certainly have a free role in Tour of Flanders as well. |

don't know if thats possible
ive read an article a while ago where the were a quotum(of max teams a county in a tour)
like max 2 belgian teams
max 2 dutch teams
max 2 german teams
min 4 french teams
etc...
i believe france was the only one with 4 teams
i think there were maximum 2 US teams
(still if they make both wildcards ,they can make it)

Competition for pro tour is very tough, Sky should be added to the list (depending on signings)

I still thinking that team need to deserve he's protour license. First season with wildcards..if they have good squad and riders are in shape..they will get the races they want to ride..
Lance got a sponsor and was not signed any riders at this moment..already demanded a license and tour ticket.
You need a deserve it..
Like did Cervelo, Garmin, Astana..etc. |

Selection for next years TDF will be interesting with Cervelo, Team Sky, Radioshack, Agritubel, Skil Shimano, BMC n then fit all the pro tour teams into the race aswell, depending are who get a license. There will be a big story on who gets a place now. I think cycling has got to that stage where they should allow more teams int the grand tours. |

Being ProTour doesn't automaticly mean you'll get an invite to the tour, you probally will, but you don't take it for granted.
Remember the fall out last year, or 2 years ago.

And the fact that teams like BBox didn't go to the Giro, or Katusha to the Vuelta. |

Allowing more teams means more risks in terms of security, i.e. you can't have 24 teams for a GT, that'd mean 24x8=192 riders, which is quite dangerous. And that's the same for PT licences. Max would be 20 Pro Teams.
And Fuji is stopping next year, so that means 1 (or maybe 3) free spot(s), for The Shack, Skil-Shimano...
I bet there's gonna be 21 teams for next year Tour.
And I guess Vacansoleil will be invited, because of Feillu brothers.

And mainly because the Tour starts in The Netherlands. I think it's safe to say a second Dutch team will be invited next to Rabobank, and then Vacansoleil does have the best chances for that. |
