Perhaps the most important of the 3 ardennes? It's certainly the one that gives the most ranking points

As usual, it takes a few attacks before the peleton remember its pointless to chase too much so early when theyll only catch the break later on - Herrero Llorente, Berthou, Rasmussen, Nolf, Garzelli, Tondo, Rohregger, Sonnery, Hacecky, Kozontchuk, Weylandt, Crawford and Martin

And here they are:

With 130km to go some of the relaying riders somehow managed to get a gap on the back - Iglinski, Stundzia, Gonzalo and Del Nero

They didnt seem to be trying to stay away but nonetheless they pulled away from the back and caught the break with 94km to go

But like I said,m the break never had a chance - caught with 55km to go

So now we wait, riders liek Pellizotti continue to pace set as the kilometres clock down. The only action to note is Santambrogio and Iglinski crashing in separate incident.

23km to go, another hill - and attack! Filippo Pozzato

Popovych, Rodriguez Oliver and Pozzovivvo apparantely tried to counter, but did not start close enough to the front og the group to allow them a gap before the descent, so it is only Pozzato ahead

Now the race is on! Cunego, Ricco and S Sanchez attack

Pozzovivvo, Rodriguez Oliver and now Schleck counter - along with Monfort, Popovych, Sella and Gerrans

Hagen and Sanchez are able to get a gap over the other 10 attackers

Theres a big name missing for those 12 though - Valverde! He attacks now with Sinkewitz

But is still behind as we head onto the Cote de Saint-Nicolas, 6km to go - the group down to 11 with Gerrans dropped

LL Sanchez and Pellizotti are looking to get across to the front

Monfort is dropped off as we take the climb up to the finish in Ans, defending champion Ricco is poorly positioned towards the back
